Death Howl is one of the 14 rare spawn wolves. Death Howl uses three abilities besides his auto-attack, and those abilities are Horrifying Howl (reduces your attack speed by 10% for 15 seconds), Infected Wound (increases physical damage taken by 5% for 20 seconds) and Tendon Rip (reduces movement speed by 25% for 5 seconds).

Got him just South of Emerald Sanctuary in Morlos'Aran - he is very big, and VERY white! I can see why Hunters would be keen for him as a pet :)

Found him on my way to Winterspring. I already had Barnabus, so I decided to let my friend tame him. He is either North or South of Emerald Sanctuary. Found him south this time, the next time he spawns, it could be north, so keep that in mind if you actually decide to tame him!

I was on my alliance priest getting herbs when I saw this rare. I am really pushing it for slots I only have one more left, so I looked at it for 10 seconds thinking.. do I really want him? I do! So I logged off, and went on my horde hunter who was parked in uldum waiting for blue madexx. Hearth and fly my goblin tush all the way to Emerald Sanctuary, Felwood. He was still there and now mine. =)

This seems to have exactly the same looks as Lupus. Caught Lupus yday and Death Howl a min or 2 ago.
Don't be fooled, it isn't whiter or anything, it's exactly the same

He showed up for me yesterday in Felwood, he looks pretty cool too. He's white and looks longer than your average dire wolf or large canid.

Another mob that's for a quest named Winna's Kitten, even though its not a rare, it still looks cool. The Cat looks like a tiger, but green with orange stripes you can find it south of Bloodvenom Post.

I just tamed him at 1:14pm EST or 10:15am Server time! I found him at this location 48.54 he was between a cliff and some trees. There was a demon around but he was yellow on the map. I can't remember the demon's name though.

I just love this wolf he reminds me of Lupus as well. I have him I tamed him a few weeks ago

Hi im Morigos on the Shattered Hand Alliance Server. Taming this creature i think is only possible during the day. I thought it was still worth it though when u tame his stats are:

Str: 110 Atk: 245
AGI: 80 Pwr: 200
STA: 202 Dmg: 72-91
Int: 42 Def: 245
Spi: 66 Arm: 3111
Dps: 40.6
He has his bad side also though atk spd. is 2.00
Anyway i thought he was a great animal to tame so try him out :)

I've been in Felwood for several days and I'm looking where it says hes been killed, looks like hes pretty rare or I'm just looking when hes been killed/tamed...I want this pet... Anyone seen him?

I have a natural love for the white wolf/worg... lol. so i have gone after them since lv 10 ^^; Timber > Lupos > Death Howl...

Anyways, just letting you guys all know he's still there. Found him just a little south of the broken shrine area near the entrance of Felwood.

According to the WOW Atlas he is on a 21-32 hour spawn, so if it is taking a while to find him that could be why.

I just tackled him at 49, 77 in Felwood... 4:07 am on the WOW clock. Didn't tame him though = ( but he does still exist! And for those who have never seen him, he's a beautiful snow-white wolf.

Got him today - I was spamming a macro /target Death Howl every time I rode north/south in Felwood - was returning to Horde flight point and nearing the sanctuary when the macro located him - I had my battleboar out and did not want to abandon him so I went and swapped to an owl I was training and came back and he was still here coords 49.6, 77.2 - easy to tame - was up on rock ledge and no adds around - very handsome wolf and goes well with my Blood Elf female hunter lvl 53 - been trying since level 49. Day time 7.10 am US Durotan server time

Trained @ 1:15 am server time on Malygos.
After trying to get Old Cliff I decided to go after this guy. Off the beaten path with no traffic like Old Cliff is.

Tamed him today, working his loyalty up so I can train him. I found him at 56-89/90 was an easy tame at 49.

tamed it the first time i entered felwood, think that was luck, lol

hes a very nice pet, got 4,5k armor at 49 without nature armor
and 2,8k hp without great stamina

Found him at 8:00 PM server time. Still had my pet so i had to go all the way to Winterfall to swap it out. When I got back, some stupid-ass 55 orc warrior was trying to kill the thing. I tried to take him out before he could kill Death Howl, but I had no pet at the time, so i was taken out easily. then the $%^&* proceeded to kill Death Howl. >.<

The thottbot map is somewhat misleading as to his location.
Tamed him on The Sha'tar server - he patrols the hills (there's a path leading up to the mountain); NOT next to the road. Doesn't seem to move very much so should be quite easy to find. Good luck!

This is a great White Worg if your horde and haven't had the opportunity to tame that skin from Dun Morogh or Duskwood and aren't a high enough level for alterac valley (or want to PvP instead of wasting time taming there).

I have hunted for this wolf for days through out my leveling in the area at the time and even going back today at level 70 I have NEVER seen him on the map. Tracking beasts and running though the area along the mountains that he roams he never spanwed for me. Camping the area also never gave me any resaults.

And yes to this day I have never seen him :(

Death Howl wasn't against the road, he was all the way against the hills to the east at 56.88.

In this screenshot, death howl appears to be green. i have searched wowhead and thottbot for screenshots and there have been none. is he green or is that just the lighting?>

Just an FYI about Death Howl.

As the picture shows, when you see him in Felwood he'll appear light green, but he's actually white. The mist in Felwood gives everything a greenish tint.

I tamed Death Howl about four weeks ago, but have since abandoned him for my white Devilsaur from Un'goro. He is typically perched on a ledge in the mountains just north of the southern FP in Felwood. He has a long spawn timer and stands out as a rare critter due to looks that are completely at odds with all the other wolves in Felwood and is close to a Flight Path which leads to him being slain for loot quite often by the non-hunter types. Easy tame, trap, cuncussive shot, tame combo gets him every time.

Note on Color: His glowing green is just a lighting effect from the taint of Felwood, and he will pick up a glow from special lighting in any other area you take him. If you are taming him simply for looks, and not bragging rights of I found Death Howl, just go get Timber >looks identical< and has a 10-15 minute spawn time as compared to Death Howls 12hour+ timer. Timber is easily found with two escort wolves on the little island in the middle of the frozen lake in western Dun Morogh >sp?< just south and west of the main gates of Iron Forge.

Death Howl's level is around 48-50 and it roams the southern area of Felwood. I happened across this silver elite while collecting Silvery Claws for the Silver Heart quest. Later I checked this site for drop info and to my surprise there was no listing at all. I uploaded my Wowreader info and poof, Death Howl is listed now. ;)

He is a good second pet IMO. Has an AoE Roar buff that adds attack power to everyone in the party for 10 seconds.
