Originally, this trinket was supposed to +321 haste, not +321 mastery. Why did Blizzard change this? Haste is lot more valuable to most casters than mastery. As far as the fire damage is concerned, I don't think you have to deal fire damage to get it to proc. I mean you can use shadow damage and it will deal the extra fire damage.
I'm not excited about this trinket anymore. The change from haste to mastery has lessoned its value significantly, especially for warlocks. It's pretty obvious that extra +321 haste made this too good, and when Blizzard realized this they changed it.

This card is subject to debuffs, buffs and other things that affect spellpower and general buffs, a quick test of this would be to click the card without any buffs, then click the card when you have spellpower buffs such as Wrathful Totems or Arcane Intellect, you will notice the damage of the "Fireball" increases and varies.
This card actually scales where many cards don't such as the Earthquake one, as of right now, this card is quite powerful for classes that benefit from Mastery or Reforged to benefit from both Mastery and/or Haste/Hit/Crit etc.
Darkmoon Faire is coming up, will you be recieving one? =D

That would actually be wonderful for the way that dot refreshing and Shadow Orbs work now. If this doesn't proc until a Mind Blast, you can fairly reliably know when you are going to proc it (which will also be the turn refreshing your Shadow Orbs) to get out a set of maximum-spellpower DoTs.

By my math it takes about 8 stacks of Whiptail or Twilight Jasmine (trading the lower ink in for Inferno Ink in Dalaran) or 16 stacks of the other lower quality herbs (again, trading ink in to make Inferno Ink)
Very inaccurate.
I'm a 525 scribe and I've milled over 1400 stacks of herbs in the last 3 days, much of which went to creating 11 cards so far. So I have a disturbing amount of experience with the details of how to craft these cards at the bare minimum:
______________________
"Pre-84" Milling
(Cinderbloom/Stormvine/Heartblossom/Azshara's Veil)
Ashen Pigment is a 250% proc rate = 50% of herbs become Pigments.
-- It is remarkable how consistent this is. I recall 3 consecutive occasions of milling at least 10 stacks where the number of pigments milled was within one single pigment of half the number of herbs.
Burning Embers is a 25% proc rate = 5% of herbs become Burning Embers
-- While still relatively consistent in its '1 per stack' rate, this proc can deviate. From 10 stacks I've gotten as many as 17 and as few as 6... but overall the total inevitably boiled down to 5% of herbs milled.
Example: 200 herbs aka 10 stacks will yield 100 Pigments and 10 Embers -- 100 Pigments become 50 Bf Inks which are traded for 5 Inferno Inks and the net is 10 Inferno Inks
*** Rule of thumb for 'pre-84 herbs' ---> 10 stacks of herbs= 1 DM Card
(Volatile Life not included of course)
{10 stacks yield 40 mills --> which results in 10 Burning Embers + 100 Pigments --> Which is 5 Inferno Inks and 50 Blackfallow Inks}
______________________
"Post-84" Milling
(Whiptail/Twilight Jasmine)
Ashen Pigment is a 300% proc rate = 60% of herbs become Pigments.
This results in 12 pigments per stack so you'll need 5 stacks to get a multiple of 20 (aka 10 Bf Inks) in order to have an even trade for Inferno Inks.
Burning Embers is a 50% proc rate = 10% of herbs become Pigments.
This results in 2 Embers per stack or 1 Inferno Ink.
Example: 10 stacks yields 120 Pigments & 20 Embers, which translates to a net 16 Inferno Inks.
______________________
That's a lot of text for a simple formula. Since the solitary goal is to acquire as many Inferno Inks for the least gold per Ink, the choice becomes simple math:
If Twilight Jasmine or Whiptail can be bought at less than 160% of the price of lesser herbs then the former are more efficient
.

I would have to agree 100% with your math.
I have been using the rule of 1 stack of lower herb = 1 Inferno Ink (over about 10 to 20 stacks).
Also with the price of herbs on my server (lower herbs between 85g and 100g per stack) and life's selling in the 4.5g range.
You get the following cost per card.
10 stacks of herbs (10 * 100g = 1000g)
30 Lifes (30 * 4.5g = 135g)
You get a Darkmoon card for 1135g per card.
At this cost selling cards becomes very very easy as the cards are going in the 1500g to 2500g range.

Yeah my testing confirms a 45 second cooldown, in 60 procs was never able to get it below 45 seconds.
The damage proc has a .10 Spellpower Coefficient, does not crit for 100% with talents (only 50%) and is definately affected by spells such as clearcasting for shaman. Average Proc including crits for me was 2233 damage.
I'd say the say proc chance is definately 30% as shown on wowhead and the reproc average was 49 or 50 seconds.
It doesn't share a cooldown with anything else, I had a single spell proc it, hurricane and stump of time at the same time.
Another thing you should know is this 1600 int is affected multiplicatively by both Kings and Mail specialization (like all other sources of Int) which you should keep in mind when comparing raw int to spellpower.
Volcano works out to 1764 Int(w kings)/12*50 = 423.36 Average Int.
Definately one of two BIS 359 Trinkets for most caster DPS classes.

Corruption
CoE
CoA
Haunt
Drain Life (yes its considered a dot)
Fear
Hellfire
Drain Soul
Shadowflame
Auto attack with wand
Auto attack with main hand wep
Spells that do trigger it:
Fel flame ( never had to throw more then 2 to get it to proc )
Shadowbolt
Incinerate
Soulfire
Soulswap
Death Coil
Searing Pain
Immolate (From the initial damage caused by casting immolate) <- Wierd one? no?

Does Warlock mastery boost the trinkets damage?

Spamming your DoTs doesn't do more DPS than a solid rotation, because your uptime on NG drops to 25% doing this. As a result, your DPS plateaus far lower than a solid rotation on a stand-and-cast fight, meaning switching to this gimmicky DPS rotation does not cause you to meet your maximum potential (even if it seems decent during the 15 seconds NG is up).
Technically, most people's math regarding mastery is wrong, because people tend to think it'll only affects 50% of our spells cast. But it's not about spells cast; it is about damage done that is affected by an eclipse state. And that percentage is more like 60 to 65% (at this current level of gear, and if you are DPSing properly), but that will change as we get more and more haste (increasing the uptime on NG, which will make reapplying DoTs at the very end of an eclipse state pointless because the original will last through an entire eclipse cycle).
In a simplistic sense, mastery seems to only contribute roughly 0.9 to 0.975% benefit per 179.4 points of mastery, which is less than what you'd get per 179.4 points of crit. However, there is some leapfrogging involved. Typically crit will be more valuable, but mastery will occasionally leapfrog it depending on what you just happen to have in terms of other stats.
There's also the idea of saving eclipse for crucial parts of a fight that depend on burst damage. To elaborate, you might not want to exit an eclipse state if you have to burn down something quickly. For an example most people might be familiar with, consider the demon portals on Jaraxxus heroic. You wanted to burn those down as fast as possible, and only getting one mistress was the key to making that fight as smooth as possible (for your first kill). It's similar to a rogue pooling energy, or a DK saving their runes for the burst needed to take down the portal quickly. You could proc eclipse and literally stand there waiting for the portal timer to tick down, then throw up your DoTs on Jaraxxus just before the portal spawns (to pre-apply NG) and then burst it down during your eclipse state.
Doing this will definitely lower your overall DPS. But for that period of burst, mastery would arguably be the most beneficial stat in terms of doing what is necessary to increase your chances of success (however, if you're killing the portals comfortably, it's arguable that doing higher overall DPS could have been more important in that specific example).
Clearly, mastery has its issues. But saying simply that crit > mastery is wrong. And saying that mastery is absolutely useless for every situation is also wrong. It's situational stat, and should see some level of use at higher ends of gear. Not more than the other stats, but avoiding it altogether will be the wrong idea in the end.
However, one could argue that it's an issue the class balancing team needs to take a look at for the future, because some classes get such a huge benefit out of mastery that it could outweigh the benefit we receive from haste and cause class balancing issues down the road.

Example: 10 stacks yields 120 Pigments & 20 Embers, which translates to a net 21 Inferno Inks.
A good post, spoilt by a mathematical error here. 120 pigments = 60 darkfallow inks, or 6 infernos. So your 10 stacks of whiptail or jasmine yield 16 inks, not 21. 1.6 inks per stack, not 2.1

45 sec ICD. Most likely 30% or greater proc chance since it seems to usually proc within about 5 sec after the ICD is up.

I just got this so I decided to do a little testing and here's what I got.
ICD seems to be about 45 seconds, the proc chance is awesome, somewhere between 30-50%. However this trinket does not proc from dots or periodic channeled spells. Things like drain life, mind flay, shadow word pain ect will not proc this trinket, even on application.
So your basically looking at 50 secs from proc to proc which will net you about 387 int plus the mastery(and reforged stat if you so desire). And while the damage part of the proc is pretty much a joke it does seem to scale at least a little bit.

why people don't realize this proc "int" is not really int in stat, it does NOT give you mana, and no benefit in mage evo or mana adapt and list of other things, when it procs it basically gives you spellpower + some crit chance, that's it. it's nowhere near the int that's in a stat.
for a mage, this is not a good trinket and stop breaking it down and compare to trinket with real int stat.

Actually, it seems like a majority of proc based trinkets are following the 15 duration/45 icd pattern in Cata. The average numbers are certainly appearing to be more-or-less balanced accordingly (this trinket definitely being an example of one that isn't so carefully balanced).

In order to clear things up, here is a summary of what the card does:
The proc damage scales off Mastery (from being the spec) AND Mastery as a stat (ie from rating)
The proc damage is affected by: your buffs and the target's debuffs
The proc damage can crit
The proc has a 45 second ICD
The card can proc off dots (on live, hotfixed sometime)
"The damage proc has a .10 Spellpower Coefficient, does not crit for 100% with talents (only 50%) and is definately affected by spells such as clearcasting for shaman." (Ezareth)
Both the int proc from the card (and the int proc from power torrent) increase maximum mana by the correct amount of int, scaling with kings/nethermancy.

While I don't agree with your style, I do agree with your math. I ranked yours up and deleted my prior post. Thanks for posting the math.
It can also be said (as another reader did elsewhere) this way:
"Low herbs : High herbs are really more like 1 : 1.6 inferno inks because of the numbers of Blackfallows made. Each stack of 20 low herbs gives, on average, half an Inferno ink and 5 Blackfallows. A stack of 20 high herbs gives, on average, 1 Inferno ink and 6 Blackfallows. Since Blackfallows convert to infernos at a rate of 10 to 1, you get 1 Inferno ink per stack of low herbs and 1.6 Inferno inks per stack of high herbs.
Buying low herbs at 5g a stack is going to be more efficient, in the long run, than buying high herbs at 10g a stack."

Granted Arcane mages aren't the favorite spec at the moment, however:
1600 int +5% cloth +5% kings =1760 which means 26400 mana added to our total, but not our current amount
my mana pool is about 90k raid buffed, so that would be 116k. and suddenly I'm missing 25% of my mana
my mastery damage increase is at about 35% with full mana (even if most prefer haste, its as good, and I'm essentially stubborn)
so point is, when this trinket proc's I lose basicly 8-9% of my damage, WEARING THIS TRINKET MAKES MY DPS GO DOWN!
Ok so "technically" the Spell power from that trink would give me maybe a 12-13% damage boost which, including the mastery damage loss would still be "more" dps. however a trink with perfect arcane stats giving a VERY underwhelming benefit makes me Very sad. do not make this mistake arcane mages!

Haven't seen it mentioned yet so thought I'd point out a couple of things:
The Fire damage proc from the trinket is applied
after
the +int bonus is given to you. For example the tooltip on mine currently says 2292 fire damage, but hits for 2471 at ~75% mana (Arcane Mage).
The Fire damage proc is also affected by the Mana Adept Mastery for Arcane Mages.
This can proc at the same time as
时光的残枝
, which puts me at 9500 spellpower, but I'm sure you can go over 10k with the right gear, which is just bananas.

I would also like to point out that the int bonus increases your crit chance by 3%, which is why they put mastery on there isntead of anything else Because your getting a larger mana pool, more sp, and crit. So keep crying about the reason why its mastery and not crit or haste

i have done the math on this card for Arcane mage..
my mage just hit 85 about 3 days ago , but is decently geared, has a ilvl score of 346 so ill be using him as a reference
i have 84980 mana self buffed with arcane brilliance
and 4270 intellect
so , first your % of mana lost during buff.. when i use a spell and it procs, my mana % instantly goes to 80%
my mastery with the card on is 26% increased damage at full mana,
so 20% of your 26% increased damage is instantly gone, which equals
5.2% less damage
but dont dismiss this card yet for arcane!
lets look at a combat log
(no buffs)
Arcane barrage hits Training Dummy for 1 Arcane.(10496 Overkill)
(trinket proced)
Volcanic Destruction hits Training Dummy for 1 Fire.(2697 Overkill)
Arcane barrage hits Training Dummy for 1 Arcane.(12253 Overkill)
so here we see a
20%
damage increase when the trinket is proced and mana pool is at 80%!
that is huge...
AND THERES MORE!
lets look at mana regen!
Mage armor returns 3060 mana at 84980 mana pool
during proc
3987
mana! at a mana pool of
110684
!
thats almost 1000mp5!
can you say more arcane blasts? ;) ;)
TLDR:
about 20% damage increase and 1000mp5 during proc for arcane mage
Edit-
it also seems that the damage produced from the proc itself scales with intellect AND arcane mastery.

If 1 point of masty gives you X% increase to something. You don't want to have more or less mastery that what you can untilize. If you have 12 mastery that will give you the same bonus as 12,9. So try to have exactly or just above even numbers, if you can. This trinket will give you 1,79 (as seen in the tooltip) so you want to reforge that excess rating (very few caster dps, if any, prefer mastery over other stats)
This trinket is perfect for that, because when you reforge you take 40% and turn it into something else;
321*0.6=192,6
you need ~179 mastery rating for 1 point so you'll have about
1,07
The stat you reforge into will give: 321-192,6=
128,4
rating. Haste is the best stat for almost all casters (except hit perhaps) and ~128 haste rating is just what you need for 1%
So if you already are at an even number in mastery (which you should be) and get this trinket, reforge it and enjoy the almost perfect conversion.
Edit:
the above statement about keeping your mastery at even numbers does not apply to all classes, destro locks will do fine with uneven ammounts of mastery since their buff is a flat amount of fire damage increase. Balance druids on the other hand must be spot on since mastery increases eclipse damage and that is a proc so it only benefits from whole percentages.

*EDIT* By way of an update, since I got a few other pieces of gear, I ended up reforging to hit instead of haste since the sims consistently suggested that was the way to go. This is still miles above other trinkets as a mage, and while it'll cost you 10-20K depending on server economy, it's definitely worth it!
For fire mages, crit is no longer "miles ahead" of haste or mastery. In fact, with proper modeling of ignite munching, crit is roughly equal to mastery in a lot of cases (and both can be behind haste).
I'm a hit-capped fire mage, and when I complete my deck, I'll be reforging to HASTE instead of crit.
Ignite-munching is now well-modeled by sims, and with the re-prioritizing, for
my character
, we have:
Int > SP >
hit
(capped) > haste > crit ~= mastery
Since mastery for fire buffs DoT effects and all of those are susceptible to ignite munching, haste often sims out greater than crit and mastery... yeah - I know, surprised me too since not too long ago, I thought crit was right under hit cap in priority (and it absolutely used to be).
*EDIT: Why downgrade up-to-date information? Run a simcraft on your toon and determine your proper stat-weighting. I stated very clearly that my own weighting at hit-cap is HASTE > CRIT and you're welcome to
run my toon
through whatever tool you want to see the same.
Further, this is from the EJ fire thread (the fount of most folks' knowledge) regarding Haste vs Crit:
* So which is better? The answer: It depends. It depends on YOUR character's current stats and gear. The best way to find out the relative values of Haste and Crit is to import your character into Rawr and/or Simulationcraft.
*
Ignite Munching devalues Crit Rating considerably
. In a bug-free world without Ignite Munching, Crit would be considered a much stronger stat. But in practise, Crit loses considerable value when Ignite Munching is factored in and accounted for.
Various tools (SimulationCraft, Rawr) now more accurately account for Ignite Munching, and as a result, Crit has been devalued to levels that more accurately reflect ingame results.
* Due to Crit being devalued by Ignite Munching, Haste can sometimes (with specific gear and stats) edge it out to become a more valuable stat. It's not really a case of Haste having shot up hugely in value recently. Although recent mana changes may indeed have increased the value of Haste slightly, the biggest factor was moreso that Crit has been more accurately modelled - and subsequently devalued - to more appropriate levels that reflect ingame results.
Also from the fire thread
The term "Soft Cap" has been taken out of context by many players and is now a source of misinformation. The "soft cap" refers to the specific level of Haste required such that a given fire DOT gains one additional tick over its duration. However, Haste still has a similar value before and after the 'soft cap'. It's just that reaching the soft cap itself results in an additional free tick - and thus a small increase in DPS. The % of Haste required varies, depending on the DOT in question and the amount of additional ticks being referred to. See the "Advanced Gearing: Haste" section for more details.
TL;DR: Sim your toon and recognize that since ignite munching can result in a loss of 30-45% (or more) of theoretical ignite-based DPS and all DoTs from a fire mage are involved, your haste very well may be weighted much higher than your crit. Mine is as a 352 iLvl Mage.

It's a TON of mastery, and the spell proc could be useful for aggro. I'm not saying go out and buy it, but I've got inscription and it looks like I might have the deck in a few days. Or hold out for Earthquake? Mastery seems much greater than dodge for itemization.

All trinket ICDs are 5 times the duration of their associated proc. This has been tested by EJ and several other sites. Anyway, this trinket would have a 60 second ICD because 5*12=60. It is also to note that ICDs start from the initiation of the proc, not after the proc ends.
For example, when DMC:Volcano procs, you get a the 12 second buff. At the same time, the ICD timer starts as soon as the buff procs. So, you would go a minimum of 48 seconds without the buff before you actually saw the proc again. Reports of less time between procs would be considered to have some error in it, as without a stopwatch being started right at the initiation of the proc, you would not be able to know when the proc came up again, accurately anyways.
As for mathing out how much int this gives, you do not add an additional 5 seconds to give anything "time to proc". In theorycraft, you simply take the number (in this case 1600) times the duration (12) and divide by the ICD (60). So, in this case, the "static" amount of int for theorycraft purposes is this:
(1600*12)/60 = 320 int
This puts it inline with Tsunami as far as int goes. As always, this is under ideal conditions and assuming no movement.
Edit: I want to add to this comment, a lot of you are putting out that there is a 45 second ICD on this trinket. Considering the lack of testing on this trinket (and I mean hard testing over several simulations/actual target dummy testing/combat logs). Considering that nearly EVERY trinket with a short buff duration was normalized in Cataclysm (see Unheeded Warning and others), everything is now basically 5x its duration for its ICD. So like is stated above, if the buff duration is 12 seconds, the ICD
WOULD BE REASONABLY DETERMINED TO BE
60 seconds. A lot of you are assuming incorrect information. Doing one test over 5 minutes is not indicative of the trinkets ICD. Also, just because something has a 30% proc chance does not add to its ICD. All it means is that after the ICD is up, it has a 30% chance of procing, i.e. 30% chance on the conditions for which it will proc, such as a dot tick or casting a spell. The ICD, regardless of proc chance, remains the same, at 60 seconds. Stop putting out incorrect math.
On another topic, the BASE int is what we are looking for when comparing it to other trinkets of the same ilvl, such as the Vibrant Alchemist Stone, which has a base int bonus of 351 (if you socket it with a Brilliant Cardinal Ruby). None of that really matters to the topic, but is more used as a point of reference. Figuring out how much int the trinket will give you after Kings and such really is a non-issue. The discussion on this trinket is just about what the trinket does, which averaged out over time is worth 320 int, 321 mastery, and some extra fire damage when it procs.
I don't know where all of you are getting this 45 sec ICD. This isn't the case, and you are just putting out erroneous information at this point.

Just picked this one up for my fire mage and did a fair amount of testing. The proc definitely is on a 45 second cooldown with a fairly high proc rate. Proculas reported after casting for about 15 minutes a 28% uptime on the buff. That would average out to over 400 int - far better than any other trinket.
Also, looking at recount, it shows 20 hits of Volcanic Destruction. The average hit was ~2500 dmg and the average crit was ~5500. The Volcanic Destruction crit % was fairly close to the crit % on scorch (16% and 18% respectively) so I'm guessing it's based off spell crit. It's hard to tell with such a small sample size though. However, the damage done definitely reflects other buffs. It's base tooltip says 900-1500 but the actual damage was 2000-2800. I can't tell if this is due to being fire spec or if it has a spell damage coefficient on it.
To test this, I switched to frost spec. I noticed that the actual tooltip changed on the item saying it's 1811 damage instead of the 2332 that showed when I was fire. After firing enough frostbolts to get 10 procs, the average hit was actually around 1800 and the average crit was around 4200.
So, through testing, that verifies not only does it have a 45 second cooldown but the direct damage done is affected by spell power as well as Fire Specialization.
Bottom line: this trinket ROCKS for fire mages.

I can confirm that this trinket and
Theralion's Mirror
can proc at the same time.

so when it procs, you gain mana from int?
then when it ends int gone, does the mana gained disappear? or is yours to keep

It has an internal CD of 45 sec, not too bad considering the 30% proc chance and 12 sec duration. The average uptime will be around 25% assuming an average proc interval of 48 sec, so the average int gain from the proc itself is like 400 int - that makes this trinket the BiS for most caster dps.

As an elemental shaman, I found this trinket to be absolutely amazing. Haste and mastery are tied for best secondary stat for elemental and as a caster of course an intellect bonus is awesome. I just got Heart of Ignacious but because of hit rating I have to choose between this trinket and the Heart :( such a difficult choice

Or.
You could use the Card and Bell. Shocking I know. Because the Card is pretty much BiS. Fill other slot as necessary.
And what do you define as a casual raiding guild? Because Atramedes seems like a &*!@# for anything but a focused group of folks, (read: not even pugs do I trust to get him down yet). I know he was tough when my guild first got to him, now I'd say Chim is the harder one, and that's just from the RNG.

This trinket is wonderful when combined with cds that both increase damage output and restores mana on a %-age basis, e.g. Archangel and Shadowfiend.
Pop them when the trinket procs.

in case anyone was wondering, you wont receive the buff if you are oneshotting mobs due to the fact that the buff procs after doing the additional fire damage.

Easily still BiS for most casters before you get into Firelands heroic. And even then, this trinket is extremely awesome. Well worth the 5-6k it's going for these days.

Note that the damage bonus won't scale with haste as much as most damage procs do, because it has the internal cooldown of a stat proc.

According to Simulationcraft, this is still in 4.2 the BiS trinket for Destruction Warlocks, as well as 2nd BiS for Affliction and Demonology (after Heroic Heart of Ignacious and Moonwell Chalice respectively). In my humble opinion the first thing new locks drop a lot of gold on should be this.

Good trinket for my Destruction Warlock. The Mastery i reforged a chunk of into +hit, but mastery is not a useless stat for Warlocks anyway, being a direct DPS increase the more u have. And yes the trinket crits. The stated damage it does on the trinket is base damage like most of your spells. It also benefits from fire damage buffs and abilities (like Dest Warlock having a passive fire damage bonus) It has crit for me for 9500 and im not super geared yet. And the 1600 intel procs translates into about 2.7% crit and 1600 SP for Dest Warlock.

Update to my last post after having the trink a few weeks.
It has now critted for 13,500 so as i gear up it gets better. Im now ilvl 357 and it crits for 6k+ often. Its doing 2% of my overall dmg according to recount. Im a dest warlock, so i do a lot of dmg too. 2% of what i do is a lot for a trinket proc, on a trinket that also has a +1600 int proc.
The trink benefits from buffs etc and being dest warlock i have a big + fire dmg boost, so i doubt everyone can get it to dmg as much as a dest warlock, since its fire dmg that the trink does. The spell that does the dmg from this trinket is called Volcanic Destruction according to recount.
Yeh the damage amount increases as you gear up too. It scales to your
mastery
intellect. I noticed once when a intel buff i had on ran out the number on the trinket went down. And so i tried taking off a piece of geat that didnt have mastery on it and the number went down. So it isnt mastery as first thought.
When i bought it, the trink said 2556 damage and now it says 2796 and ive seen it growing slowly to this point. So the picture at the top of this thread where is says 900-1500 fire dmg, thats base. So it does ok dmg and thats not counting whatever extra dmg you do while you have 1600 int for 12 secs. For me, a Dest Warlock, 1600 int is 1600 SP and some crit, and regen.
If you think about it, the intel buff from this trink will make the damage of its fire spell higher too, as they proc together. The damage the trink says it does scales to intellect. So when it procs you will see a large number for fire dmg on the trinket if you look while the buff is up.
Pretty useful trink and i will hate replacing it later. Hope they bring out a higher level of a similar trinket if i have to replace it.
Tip when buying, watch it in the AH while you save for it, at least a week before u buy it. The price can range so much. On my server, Aman Thul, it ranged from 4000 G to 8500 G over the week. I got it for 5500 G, and 2 days later it was 4 and i was like "doh!" lol. But right now and for last 2 days its 7000 G so i feel better.

Heroic Heart of Ignacious is nowhere close to this trinket. You are looking at the chart that rates the proc/use ability only - the reason Volcano card is lower on those charts is that a significant portion of the card is built into the static Intellect, which isn't reflected on those charts.
No, the reason Heart of Ignacious is so high is because the whole trinket is a proc. The spellpower is a proc, and the haste is a proc. So when you're looking at a chart that is only valuing procs, of course this trinket is going to be on top.

Sorry if this has been asked, but can the damage from this crit? Or go any higher than 1.5k if your not a fire mage?

According to Rawr, this is still my third/second best trinket I have in my asset (I am Fire Mage), even slightly better than
Necromantic Focus
. Rawr's calculation states that it's better than the 4.3 VP trinket
Bottled Wishes
, WoE trink
Foul Gift of the Demon Lord
. Even the
Rune of Zeth
from FL falls behind this. I don't know if this calculation is correct, or this just apply to my character.
