Tested the proc. rate for Fall of Mortality today (Dec 30 2010).

Healed myself (priest) for 15 minutes straight. Heal (2.23sec cast) and occasional Penance (1.79sec cast).
Full health, no deficit. No HoTs used.

Trinket proc'd and I started the timer.

All MP5 figures vary depending on your intelligence, look at them relative to each other

The proc chance is 10%. Most likely a 45 second ICD. Assuming this procs once every 60 seconds this is worth around ~300 MP5. Most likely the proc will fluctuate between every 60 seconds (297 MP5) and 90 seconds (198 MP5). 90 seconds seems to be the average time for most people.

For comparison to the almost identical Valor trinket (it's on use every 2 minutes and lasts 5 seconds longer), Core of Ripeness is worth about 198 MP5 if used immediately on cooldown every time.

Darkmoon Card: Tsunami is worth about 250 MP5 after ramp up.

Tyrande's Favorite Doll is worth 350 MP5 if used immediately on cooldown every 1 minute and assuming you used 21000 mana in that last minute (which is extremely likely).

The values for the above trinkets are higher for Holy Priests since they benefit more from SPR than other Healers due to Holy Concentration. That most likely makes the SPR trinkets more powerful than Tyrande's Favorite Doll although I haven't done the math on it.

All of these are about 150-200 MP5 LESS than the Jar of Ancient Remedies but the difference is that the Jar is purely a regen trinket lacking the big chunk of throughput from the INT given by the other trinkets listed above. The choice is yours. As a Discipline Priest, I would like to get 2 INT trinkets, preferably Tyrande's Doll and DMC: Tsunami. The Fall of Mortality is not far behind at all though and would be a suitable trinket to have instead of DMC: Tsunami, they are pretty interchangeable. I will most likely end up using DMC: Tsunami & Fall of Mortality though since the Archeology trinket is pretty rare.

With the change to Mana Tide, "on use" trinkets no longer give more benefit than "ramp up" trinkets.

does anyone have some information about disc priest healing proccs?

as far as the tsunami card goes, i'm not getting any spirit stacks out of a shield cast or shield glyph heal, neither from atonement heals or prayer of healing glyph hot ticks. do those heals trigger the spirit procc of this thing?
i'm positive that my guild will down cho'gall within foreseeable time, so i'm curious if it's worthy to wait until then or pick up core of ripeness as long as we're able to abuse mana tide.

BTW1: i had a ticket about the missing spirit proccs from the tsunami card and the GM told me that blizzard itself isn't 100% happy with its function. of course he/she didn't tell me if or what they're going to be working out, but at least blizz seems to be aware of the problem.
BTW2: it seems likely that other classes/speccs spells don't trigger proccs from healing trinkets (in general) as well. i'm thinking about earthliving hots, efflorescence/healing rain/holy word serenity heals and stuff like holy radiance or echo of light ticks.

As of 01/26/11 live hotfix: Cataclysm Hotfixes - Updated Jan. 26

Normal and Heroic versions of Fall of Mortality can now proc the Grounded Soul effect correctly via heal-over-time spells.

This change makes the trinket a great option for Resto Druids now.

Now that Mana tide is patched, not that great anymore imo. But the thing about this Trinket is: If u have the luxury in a fight to stop casting while the procc is active, it's value is greatly increased and i would prefer it over eg tsunami.

My guess is 10% proc, 70 sec ICD. With 2 sec casts, this would take an average of 90s to proc, bringing the overall average Spi gain to 321.

This trinket has been greatly buffed after the hotfix January 27(Grounded Soul can be proc via hot spell), especially for resto druid. it could be the best trinket except the tyrande's doll.even better than the darkmoon card.

it 's now a 359 version "Tear of Blood"

Because of how Intellect scales how much regeneration the rest of your spirit is worth, Intellect can be considered a regeneration stat with a greater value than spirit. This means the Jar is not as good.

There's a lot of math behind my answer, but I'll spare you and basically say this:

The item is rather worthyless in Non HC as the Int-Bonus is the same as on other items like DMC Tsunami or the doll of Tyrande.

Plus, as the ICD appears to be more then 75, the managain in a 7minutes fight is less then through other trinkets, as my spreadsheet shows: http:// #$%^&* / fVGcze (please remove blanks)

Edit: It looks like wowhead does not want you to have a look at my spreadsheet and is messing up my link all the time. Your only option is therefor to just believe me, that these values are correct:

DMC Tsunami: 218.194
Fall of Mortality nHc: ( Proc every 60sec : 222.197 ) ; (Proc every 75sec: 217.467 ) ; (Proc every 90sec: 214.313)

The testing I have done shows the cooldown is 75 seconds. This was done in Orgrimmar in a crowded area using 圣光普照. I never got a proc earlier than 75 seconds, and it would always proc exactly on 75 seconds if I used 圣光普照 at 70 seconds.

Basically all Cataclysm (PvE) equip passive trinkets have an internal CD on 5x its effect duration. 75 seconds is its ICD.

The PvP equip trinkets are one of the few that don't follow this rule.

Fall of Mortality regular at 5500 intel is worth approx 238.9 mp5 if you proc it on its ICD of 75 seconds. If you're OOC regening when it procs, that number ends up being higher than the mp5 on Doll.

On the PTR, the trinket now says
'Equip: Your healing spells have a chance to instantly heal the most injured nearby party member for 3699.'

That's the normal version, seems like a very big nerf (that's a lower heal than the Gunship trinket) unless it doesn't have an ICD.

In its current form (spirit on proc) I really, really don't recommend this for paladins, unless you are sitting on trinkets from heroics.

Core of Ripeness is much better because of the following:

1: It doesn't proc early. Fall of Mortality might proc very early in the fight when you are still at practically 100% mana, wasting most of the mana regen.

2: With a 10% proc chance it is hard to get it to proc shortly after the ICD runs out, unless using Holy Radiance at that very moment. For obvious reasons this will often be hard to do, or at least unsuitable to do. This means it'll take (like earlier posts mentions) about 90 seconds to get it to proc on avarage.

Those two together means the mana regen will usually at best be equal to Core of Ripeness. In most cases, due to point 1, it'll be worse.

For somewhat easily attained trinkets I recommend the combination of Core of Ripeness and DMC: Tsunami.

Anyone knows if you can equip this together with the Heroic version? They are different ID's and most other Unique items stack with their heroic/non-heroic counterparts, so I'd assume they do - but would be nice to know if anyone has tested it.

The ICD seems to be 75 secs. Won this trinket on my druid as os and i tested for about 10 mins. Every 75 secs (from the first proc) it proced again.
