They recently changed this libram from having the same stats as https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=40191 that drops off of Noth the Plaguebringer in Naxx. Now it looks like this effects Divine Storm. Although Divine Storm does less DPS than Crusader Strike, the 235 damage bonus is more than double that of the Crusader Strike bonus libram, so this looks like a decent libram.

I am going to assume this item has "placeholder" stats, as there is no reason why an item level 226 purple would have the exact same stats as an item level 213 naxx drop which is already arguably worse than an item level 150 blue libram from daily quests.

Blizzard's balance of Libram's is very very bad, and whoever is in charge of it should really re-think their strategy. When an item level 213 purple sits in the bank and isn't used over an item level 150 blue, something is wrong.

But all of you are forgetting one specific thing.

A good Ret Pally has Divine Storm as their second in spell rotation. CS does considerably less damage and glyphed properly DS shold have more DPS and Healing in 3.1.

JoL or JoW should be first, then DS, CS, Ex, and HW if fighting undead, then perhaps Co if theres enough return mana, then on an FCFS cooldown basis. I think once everyone sees the changes to DS in 3.1 they will understand the full potential of this Libram for what it should be.

And if any Retadins are running anything other than SotM in Raids then they truly are Noobadins, SoC is for PVP.

This item is currently bugged exactly like the Venture Co. Libram was on the PTR. The tooltip doesn't register the same, but I guarantee that your DS will it about 200% harder. We raid with two rets and we rolled to see who it would go to. He won it. And all night long his avg hits were 500 dmg higher and crits were over 1000 dmg higher. My highest crit was 6k his was 8k.

Try to get this before it is nerfed if you can.

Let me clarify. Your DS will not hit twice as hard, but for 200%+ wep dmg as opposed to 110% wep dmg. My other ret pally guildy (who i often beat on kologarn) completely destroyed me tonight.

Napkin math:

8 minute (480sec) fight

DS 10s cd with libram of discord = 11280 damage

CS 6s cd with libram of radiance = 9240 damage.

For overall damage this libram wins.

Agreed. The PvP Libram is, by far, vastly superior to other Librams. Two, maybe three weeks of casual Arena's can land you this Libram.

I don't understand why Rawr has this Libram as such an undervalued item, but it is, imho, far superior, as it affects everything a Ret has for his offensive capabilities, and slightly affects Sacred Shield and SpellPower. In a close-to-ideal rotation on any type of encounter, the Libram that Embalm linked wins hands down.

I've always found librams to be context-specific. In this case, Divine Storm is a more important skill than Crusader Strike in areas where you're fighting more than one enemy (as Divine Storm is AOE). Fighting four enemies yields a damage increase of 1000 every cooldown cycle. It just depends on what you're fighting. Obviously if you're fighting a single-target boss you'd want to use Crusader Strike as your modified skill.
