Dropped for me off Flame in Ulduar, so yep, confirmed of Leviathan. Good AP but big loss in crit compared to some neck pieces in Naxx though, none the less, i needed the extra hit to be exactly capped, does the job on my ret pally.

I just got this yesterday, am wondering if it's really an upgrade to the badge one with agi and crit for a kitty. especially since, though i'm not hit capped, i always roll with boomkins so i don't need the hit at all. on the other hand, armor pen is spose to be a lot better now, so... giving up agility and crit for strength and armor pen, and a higher iLevel item. really tough call.

I won this last nigh, and I am an Unholy DK. Im actually having a tought choice in wearing my current neck item (Fools Trial) or this. I no armor Pen is best for Blood Dk's but Blizzard seems to have put armor penetration in almost ALL plate dps gear.

Another thing that turns this off form Fools Trial is there is no crit, the Strenght is nice, but i feel like you lose a lot of crit(i No strength>crit, but thats just me)

Well i wouldnt mind hearing from what you guys think

As a DK with kings and either of the str boosting talents, this basically gives the equivalent of a free AP gem, while +AP neckpieces wont. Also, dont forget that this will boost your gains from fallen crusader, as well as (if properly specced) your ghoul. Im sure the loss of crit can be made up.

dropped for me on my guilds test-run, im a UH dk, i replaced my Fools Trial with this, some may say the fools trial is better and this can be a nice tank necklace, though i would like to agree, having that extra amount of +str and having atleast 1% of ArmP, its a REALLY nice neckpiece, no complains here, and grats on those who get to wear it.

(remember kids, the only classes that truely benefit from AP are hunters, rouges. KINGS, MIGHT, etc scales the +str and i personally love that.)

I don't know what number crunching you've done but that's completely false (for Unholy DKs, I'd imagine ArmP would have higher value for Blood than Unholy or even Frost DPS).

Ret Paladin here; got this item last night it was really no question. I am 100% geared from 10 mans and this is better than Hero's Outcast Necklace from the badges.

+40 AP not counting kings
lose some crit, but blizzard has been quoted saying Armor Pen was being buffed because they found the stat useless. So now that it has some value I have no problem losing some crit for a new buffed stat also because my crit is still above 30%, the minimum for ret paladins so we can keep Vengence up at all times.

quite nice if your not hitcapped yet or just above the hitcap with gems, so you can switch some of your gems to crit or armor pen, so thats a way to make up your crit loss compared to other necklaceses.(sry my english is bad).

It's currently one of very few epic quality Necks with both Armor Penetration and Strength. Painfully Sharp Choker from Pit of Saron (N) is the only other one of its kind to drop outside of 25 man raids. (Hodir, Blood-Queen)
