In respose to Detharious, it is that great. OB is only used once per 20 second Blood Rotation, and DC is used multiple times. If fact, even using a DC twice (sudden doom procs, dump) in a 20 second rotation will make this better than the Sigil of Awareness.
edit: OB won't be used in Blood builds after 3.1, making this vastly superior.

In response to Seoman, Death Strike is also used only once per Blood rotation. DC is used multiple times. That makes Sigil of the Vengeful Heart better than Sigil of Awareness for Blood DPS builds.

For Unholy 2H builds, Sigil of Awareness will still edge this out for the sheer fact that you spam ScS far more than you do Deathcoil.

Even if this trinket means more damage is added per Coil than SoA adds to ScS, the point still stands that you use almost double the amount of ScS's, hence SoA providing greater benefit.

For 2H Frost builds, however, this will be KING.

I've had the luck of getting 2 separate trinkets in Ulduar already, this is one of em. The other is Sigil of Deflection.

As a Frost tank, this trinket seems really good when it comes to threat. Keep in mind that with killing machine, this sigil is probably better than SoA. With the insane critrates and that high bonus damage to frost strike, im having them crit for over ninethousand dmg (serious) while tanking!

I got this trinket awhile ago. It helped ALOT in pvp and I've been playing frost pve this week.

In pve i get 12-14k frost strike crits. 14k is obviously when Merciless Combat is on.
in pvp i get up to 8k frost strike crits.

This sigil will be one of the most significant upgrades you can obtain in Ulduar , even going into Hard Mode. Your Frost Strikes will instantly go from 8-9k to 11-12k, 15+ with Merciless Combat enabled as mentioned before.

I also believe this item has a significantly higher droprate than Sigil of Awareness pre-3.1, as we've seen one drop 3 weeks in a row now. Even our tank has one for offspec.

Okay, too the question. How does this make up with an 50/0/20 talent tree ? is it still SoA to go with whilst being blood ?

Got this on our first XT-002 kill first day, and it have just been in my bag since then. Is it worth trying out frost over blood as soon as you get this sigil ? Might not be the correct place too ask this, but i take a guess.

Can anyone please explain why a 380 damage sigil somehow makes your ability crit 3k more? I don't understand :s

This is THE tanking sigil at them moment: the contribution that it gives to your TPS output (especially if your frost tank) just can't be ignored: it trumps the def sigil and definently beats the obliterate one (you use FS much much more then obliterate). I rolled main spec as a tank in our raid with no complaints from anyone: this is great for tanking and for dps.

I just scored this badboy last night in my first 25man Ulduar run. Despite my lack of experience doing these raids, I was the only DPS DK in there, and lucky me...I'm a Frost DPS spec. The moment I got it, I threw it on, and the increase in my output was enormous.

Sweetcake's a happy little DK now. ;-)

This puppy is the best sigil for unholy dps builds beating out the sigil of awareness by like 20dps doesn't sound like much but when your in the best gear you can get you gotta scrape every last bit of extra dps you can to top the charts.

Will this be a better sigil than Awareness to Unholy DKs now that UB will be DC based? And since Gargoyle will be a fire and forget skill(fixed duration and cost) Unholy will be using a lot more DC to dump the RP.

While previously being the absolute best for Frost DKs in 3.1, the tooltip has changed for 3.2:

Equip: Increases the damage done by your Death Coil ability by 380 and by your Frost Strike ability by 113.

That's verbatim, including the poor grammar. This is no longer a desirable sigil (compared to Sigil of Awareness) for 2h/DW frost DKs and hopefully Blizzard will explain why they would make such a huge unannounced change after already nerfing frost strike substantially.

Edit: The change wasn't in the patch notes, but it had been previously discussed.

Huge nerf for frost-specced folks. On the other hand, it is more powerful than it was for unholy death knights due to the heavier emphasis on death coil.

It's still a pretty decent sigil, and easily obtained with the new mark system.

As a blood DK you can use DS once in your first rotation and then in your second you either spam HS or you can go 2 DS and 2 HS. Depending on how you do it you are getting in more death strikes which still makes a case for bloods to use Awareness. I don't have it yet so I can't say how for sure it works in my case but if I get the chance to grab I certainly will and try it out.
