I would like to note that you CANNOT stack several glyphs of the same type to increase the effect. Upon attempting to inscribe a duplicate Glyph at the Lexicon of Power you recieve the message:

"That Glyph is already inscribed in your spellbook."

I like this Glyph. It's the first one I got and it's pretty evident how good it is.

I still crit for 770 with Icy Touch.

Not a good Glyph for a Blood DK.

We don't starve for RP. I usually end fights with 100 RP, not having used it once, I usually don't have time to use RP skills, and when I do, it's a free RP 100% crit Death Coil.

We don't need more RP, so using that will only lower the damage on Icy Touch.

As a frost specced dk, if you have specced in the talent for +100% rp from it, does it award 30 rp (10+10 from talent +10 from glyph) or 40 rp (10+10 from glyph=20+100%)?

EDIT: Had an old version of the talent calculator mysef and had other values.. it's totally wrong now. :(

How useful is this for deep Unholy in conjunction with Glyph of Scourge Strike, since with the exception of bad luck this glyph dramatically reduces the need to re-cast Icy Touch, especially in single-target DPS situations?

Do -not- forget that Multi-rune abilities now grant more RP, can't remember how much, both Obliterate and Howling Blast are Multi-rune (x1 frost x1 unholy), oh and DnD. Oblit and HB are base Frost DPS rotation skills.

Makes me question Frost builds on Wowhead forums without Runic Power Mastery (talent), I barely had time for my rotations cause of constantly dumping my RP, what a hazzle

This is in fact wrong.

Prior to patch 3.0.8, abilities awarded 10 RP per rune, so Howling Blast/Obliterate and Scourge Strike generated 20RP and Death and Decay generated 30RP.

So RP generation has been nerfed.

This has been counteracted by decreasing the cost of most of the abilites requiring RP such as Unholy Blight, which got reduced from 60 to 40 RP.

Well now that Glyph of Icebound Fortitude no longer makes the ability cost no runic power (patch 3.1), this looks like a good substitute for it so that you can have 20 RP at the start of a fight to pop IF to mitigate damage at the very start of a fight. Allowing you time to build threat before you need to be healed for so much.

They changed the glyph for IF to give you a guarenteed 30% damage reduction reguardless of defense, instead of just 20% +up to 10% more depending on your defense. Which for tanks is a huge nerf, since we have enough defense to make the difference less than a 5% gain. It makes Glyph of IF more of a PVP glyph instead of a tanking glyph.

You still lose 10RP, but at least its not 20RP if you were to pass on this glyph.

Plus the added 10RP every 20 seconds in your rotation will still add up to help with other abilities.

Doesn't Pestilence still cost you a rune. When Rime procs you get a Howling Blast at no rune cost. And it infects all in aoe with Frost Fever if you have Glyph of Howling Blast. I would say that is a bonus wouldn't you?

Your Icy Touch dispels one helpful Magic effect from the target.

Seems like the DK will be more able to face up against say a Pally if he bubbles or a Mage if he Ice Blocks.

EDIT: Okay, I understand that people may want to mass downvote (just look at this page!) but seriously, this is possible. Icy Touch will not do damage seeing as how Divine Shield and Ice Block make you invulnerable, but they are both Magic buffs and can be dispelled anyways. Please do not abuse the voting system.

In Mists of Pandaria this glyph has changed.

OLD: Glyph of Icy Touch - Your Frost Fever disease deals 20% additional damage.
NEW: Glyph of Icy Touch - Your Icy Touch dispels one helpful Magic effect from the target.
