Here's our confirmation that enchants can now be sold on the AH. Inscription/Enchanters will make a killing early on before prices settle.

So Just to be clear, an inscriptionist can make this item... then give it to an enchanter who can then enchant it. You don't have to be both enchanter and inscriptionist. Correct?

Some comments while testing on the PTR:

While it's not explicitly stated I couldn't cast any TBC enchants on it, so there's probably a level 60 requirement on the vellums.
After casting an enchant on it, the vellum turns into a non-unique scroll that takes up one inventory slot (not stackable).
The vellums have no sell price, so it can't be accidentally vendored.

This means that you can (at last) enchant other characters on the same account as your enchanter, which has only been possible by BoE items or finding another enchanter before. Yay!

This also means that we can now find enchants on AH - making it a crafting proffesion instead of a "5g fee" proffesion. It has been hard, if not impossible to gain gold on other than disenchanting with the enchanting proffesion before. I really really REALLY like this feature!

This also means you will have to provide mats yourself, which will either take time farming, or spending money on AH, but since the prices will jump and fall for mats on AH, u'll have to adjust your price all the time + someone will alway put the same enchant on AH for 1g less on AH, i still rather enjoy them coming to me when i happen to go to city for some min and advertise my craft on trade channel and get 20-30g/enchant fee (atleast our realm). :)

I agree, this is huge for the enchanting proff. Almost as big as when they made it possible to organize your enchants instead of hunting through a list of all of them. No more burning mats just to get a couple levels when you couldn't sell the enchant to anybody. YEA!

This also means that, if you see yourself using the enchant again on yourself when you get better gear, you can make a bunch of them now while they skill you up and save them for later. I would have liked to have done this with some of the spirit enchants in TBC. But better late than never :)

Im able to put weapon vellums in my enchanting bag, but not armor vellums. How does that make sense.....

If you let an enchanter enchant the vellum through the 'not trade' you will not get a scroll of that enchant instead you will get the enchant on the weapon/armor vellum(I believe this is a bug). This will make it useless, so trade the vellum to the enchanter as well!.

could you confirm if we can raise enchanting skill using enchant on armor vellum? I try 3 times with a "yellow" enchant and my enchanting skill don't raise...

Confirmed. Enchanting a vellum will make you skillup like you were enchanting a piece of equipment.

As you probably already know, "yellow" skills don't guarantee a skillup.

I find that as of this writing, selling enchants on the AH is very difficult pre-60, unless the enchant is twink-related. People who are leveling often simply do not buy enchants because their gear is replaced so quickly, and because the late introduction of this feature has done little to break the "find an enchanter in person" mindset. Most people wont look on the AH, they'll ask in trade. Even at very low prices for the enchants, low level non-twink enchants rarely sell. It's a shame, because it'd be nice to make money off leveling enchanting, rather than keeping it the insane money sink that it's always been.

Your mileage may vary, but this is my personal experience. Happy enchanting. :)

Edit: Why is this being downrated?I believe my opinion is valid and presented in a constructive manner. I even state that your experience may be different. Selling enchants on the AH is very relevant to this item type as it is the only way to do it, and I'm simply posting this here so people will be cautious about what enchants they're going to try to sell with the vellum, because the vellum itself can be quite an expensive investment depending on your server's economy and you may not even be able to make back the cost for many enchants. Since when is being a consumer advocate a bad thing? :P

I have a enchanter/tailor. When i tried to enchant into vellum, it told me i could not use.I was putting a level 35 into vellum II. Why wouldn't it work,

Short answer - only if you can get starter herbs for less than 34s 45c per stack. Calculations below.

Q: How cheap does a herb need to be to make crafting a vellum worthwhile?

Base data:
1 Vellum bought for 10s (7s if exalted)
1 Light Parchment bought for 15c (11c if exalted)
5 herbs mill to avg. 2.5 Alabaster Pigments (avg. 2 herbs per pigment)

Base calculations:
o 1 Enchanting Vellum (EV) = 0.5 Moonglow Ink (MI) + 1 Light Parchment (LP)
o 0.5MI = 1 AP = 2 Herbs

So:
1 EV = 2 Herbs + 1 LP
1 EV - 1 LP = 2 Herbs
(1 EV - 1 LP) / 2 = 1 Herb

If you're exalted: (7s - 11c) / 2 = 3s 44c
If not: (10s - 15c) / 2 = 4s 92c

Noob question: Do you need the enchanting skill on the character who is going to use this to enchant their gear? Like can I store my enchants on this, drop enchanting and pick up another profession, and later use the vellums to enchant my gear?
