Compared to Leggings of the Tempest, you gain one yellow socket, gain 1 stam and 1 spirit, gain 5 hit, and the spell damage on both pants are equal.

On the other hand, you lose 11 intellect and 29 spell crit.

This is just one example of the heroic badge gear that is on a near equal ilvl with T6.

These pants are awesome for Mages who are not in raiding guilds.
Most likely, they will be using Spellstrike Pants, and compared to them, it's:
+25 stam (+19 if you have the socket bonus)
+28 Intellect
+30 Spirit
+3 Spell hit
+16 Spell damage
- Red socket
-26 Spell Crit
-Set bonus

I mean, yes, you lose a red socket and 26 crit, and the nice set bonus, but the pure amount of how much Stam and how much intellect you get compared to the price, along with the fact you only need to get badges, and not Mights and pay for Nethers, make these an amazing addition to mages not in Raiding guilds.

For shadow priests, this seems only a small step up from Spellstrike Pants because you lose a socket which = 9 spell damage, thus making the difference in spell damage only 7. As well, despite the fact that shadow priests don't itemize for crit, the extra crit helps with the Mind Blasts and SW: D in raiding perspectives. So these pants would be a waste of badges in my opinion since it costs a large sum of them for a small upgrade.

Corrupted Soulcloth Pantaloons are better for a mage or destro lock if your spell hit is maxxed. Also available from Smith Hauthaa.

dps wise there is better for your badges;
but i wouldn't rule them out
loads of dmg
loads of stam int and spirit
loads of spell hit.
ye would be sacrificing a little dps for alot of other stats; if ye weren't hit capped or wanted extra talents points besides shadow focus; these would go down a treat.

The hit rating is great for destro locks, but come wrath items like these will still be useful, but I am sure locks will be aiming for more crit/damage items, since we will finally have a +hit talent https://www.wowhead.com/cata/spell=17780 so we can start working on big damage/crit items earlier instead of worrying about spell hit all day.
