They started to drop in a higher rate when I completed the first quest (talk about Murphy's law). Could be just luck though.

Either way, they are not soulbound so probably can find them at the AH if you need them badly.

I killed quite a few starving fungal giants, but only the ones located in the Spawning Glen actually dropped these. FWIW.

I have no idea why, maybe change in some patch, that the Fungal Giants DO drop the tendrils, i just looted one so i can know :p.

Ok, when i did this quest, i decided to let myself get 5 stacks of their Debuff, it changed into a debuff that lasted 10 seconds, rooted you, and dealt about 500 damage per 2 seconds, had to use Imp Sprint to take it off before it killed me, pallys beware. you may not be able to kill these things fast enough.

Don't forget that Watcher Leesa'oh sends you to do A Question of Gluttony after you investigate Spawning Glen - so you'll pick up a few more while you do that.
I always forget, end up grinding for ages, then picking up more than I needed when I do her followup quest.

Make sure you are killing the right mobs. I spent about 20 minutes killing Fungal Giants until i realized that they didn't drop tendrils.

I know this is a repeat of something that someone else already said but this is for people who haven't found out yet: the starving fungal giants have a bigger chance to drop this then the bog lords.

It's called 'luck', or lack thereof.

Since these do not have a 100% drop rate, it's theoretically possible that you could kill 1000 of these mobs and never see one drop, it's also possible you could kill 1000 of them and get 1000. The actual probability of either event happening is extremely low, but I'm just pointing out that it _is_ possible because it's a random drop based off a roll done by the game server.

Sometimes you get lucky and get a lot of them in a short period of time, sometimes you get unlucky and it takes a lot longer to collect them. Doing the quest before or after makes no difference at all, the only thing that does make a difference is the percentage drop rate, so you should concentrate on the mobs that have the highest drop %, which you will see if you click the Dropped By tab on this page. Starving Fungal Giants (33%), Bog Lords (30%) and Withered Bog Lords (28%) all have a fairly high chance to drop these. The other two mobs that can drop these only have 18% drop rates, so a good bit under the top 3, but still a reasonable drop rate.

the area given by the blizz map is not ideal. starving bog lords only have a drop rate of 18%. The normal Bog Lord's you can find a bit further to the east and of course in the mire. It's advisable to take the nutriment quest of the watcher killing some bog lords there during that quest.

You rarely find tendrills so if you are lvl 62-65 then you will have problems about killing them.But patience is a virtue dont just abandon it continue so you get the quest about slave pens and underbog.

I have never, ever, had a worse drop rate on a quest. It took me roughly 75 kills to get the 6 tendrils required. I went to 3 different camps (as marked by the quest on my map) and killed each of the monsters listed here (and each of them eventually dropped a tendril).

I have no idea why this quest is so bad. The only point of advice I can offer is that you'll have to kill the same monsters for A Question of Gluttony, so it's worth grabbing if you're going to stick with it.

I had herbalism and heirloom gear, so this wasn't nearly as painful for me as it could have been but if you are at all concerned about your leveling speed, I would strongly suggest that you skip this.

i reccomend going to the dead mire and killing the elementals there, instead of staying around the spawning glen and having to deal with the mobs that are way harfer to kill, and have an equal-less drop rate

drop rate of these are so horrible on bog lords compared to the giants, 1 on 1 they are semi tough if theres 2 of those big guys on you your toast they put this dot on you stacks 5 times, 40% movement slow big deal, stays that way that part doesnt stack, the damage part does at 1 its very little damage 2 very little damage, 3 does like 120 damage 4 does 159, and once you get the 5th, it boosts up to 459 damage mind you this dot ticks every 2 second.... and the guys cast it for a instant spell so you cant interupt it, and they cast about once every 9-10 seconds

I'm doing one of the quests to collect these... at this point, I've got 5 of 6, and I've killed 20-30 more mobs without getting a single drop (the first two I got from doing another quest, the next two took about 20-30 kills as well...)

Prior to v2.3, I got these ALL the time, now they seem to very very rarely drop...

I got 3 of these tendrils in only 5-6 kills, and since then I have killed about 30-40 so far and haven't gotten anything.

anyone else finding the drop rates on these hideously inaccurate? i've ben grinding the bog lords and fungal giants of quagg ridge (i think it's called... you know the place i mean) for 3 hours now. i've killed way over 100 of these mobs and only two tendrils have dropped for me. am i just unlucky or are these thigns crazily rare?

Bog Lord Tendrils also drop from the Bog Lords in Dead Mire (north of Swamprat Post) and Quagg Ridge (east of Cenarion outpost located SE of Sporeggar). Hope this helps!

P.S. In my experience, I found that the tendrils had a better drop rate before I picked up the quest from Fasshn... Something to keep in mind.

Dont throw them away, they vendor for around 7s each. I got tons of these while farming for motes of life from the bog lords in the Dead Mire.

If youre collecting these for the quest, the best thing to do in my experience is drop the quest then farm them. I get a much higher drop rate.

沼泽领主的卷须 is a quest related item - you need to collect them to complete 天敌 quest.

You may carry some tendrils in the backpack already, as they drop with no quest picked up. If you don't - make your way slightly to the west, to the area with big orange glowing spores.
There are mobs within the area you can loot 沼泽领主的卷须 from - 饥饿的真菌巨人s and 挨饿的沼泽领主s - drop chance is medium.
