5 minute CD is kinda long for PvE use, but yes, for arenas this will be very nice.

That's the main reason I picked jewelcrafting. Possibly best caster trinket in the game at the moment, both PvP and PvE-wise

In average the activated ability gives a "constant" 10 dmg increase (150dmg / (300s/20s) = 10dmg).
When combined with awesome stats (for a blue), I must say it looks quite good.

When you use this nifty trinket not only do you get +150 spelldamage for 20 seconds but also a nice litte "minion" serpent that follows you around while the buff is active!

I'm gonna have to say that this might not make a mage, shadowpriest, moonkin, or elemental shaman drool, it certainly is a very badass warlock trinket. 33sta and 23int is arguably better than any other pre-raid trinket especially for a warlock.

Also - mages tanking Firehand in the Maulgar fight can consider using this trinket for a nice stamina boost.

Just a note for Jewelcrafters who plan on equipping two figurines at the same time in their trinket slots, like the Living Ruby Serpent and https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=24127. If you have a macro to pop both trinkets simultaneously, one will cancel out the other so you will have only one effect for the 20 second duration.

Something to consider if you are looking to burst heal or DPS with pairs of crafted trinkets.

Useless fact for non-combat pet lovers: Living Ruby Serpent is considered to be a temporary pet and it makes your current non-combat pet disappear. So, if you are a Living Ruby Serpent owner and have a related trinket macro, it's not possible to have a non-combat pet continuously in an instance or PvP due to this item.

General question about jc trinkets.

Since they don't have durability can you level jc'ing make the trinket and then dump jc'ing for another profession and still be able to use the trinket?

you know just for this item i think ill drop enchanting and go for jewelcrafting, that item is just too awesome to pass up, AND IT CAN BE CRAFTED INSTEAD OF HUNTING FOR IT.

For those of you wondering; it's a 5 minute cool down before you can use it again. It has no proc graphic which i am fine with, and quite easy to make; but it is pretty hard to gain enough skill in levels to make.

With the currently accepted priorities for tanks being to max effective health, this trinket represents a very powerful option for paladin tanks.

Compared to engineering as a whole, this trinket and the JC only gems is only about 4 Stam off from the engineering trinkets. Then when you factor in the int, powerful spell damage active that and the extra spell damage from gems you can see why this is such an attractive option for prot paladins.

If you don't value effective health as highly, there are much more attractive options than either profession can offer
