lame lame lame i made 3 of these before i realized it was bop ffs blizard why make somthing this fun for it to be enginer only and allso a v rare drop recipe i am only person i know of on aliance twisting nether relm to have this thing.

i have sat in IF for like 2 hours spaming "if you have a robot come and lets let them fight " no one has replyed lots of people ask how ever for me to make them one :/

these could make us enginers a profet for once insted of been so poor like allways :(

Well, it's fun to make them, but the "non-combat pet that fights other non-combat pets" is wrong.

It doesn't follow you around as a non-combat pet. The bot is more like a nano-bot aswell, it's the size of my toe / hoof (Tauren). Haven't seen it fight yet, but it doesn't draw insane attention as "rare pet" as I hoped, since it's microscopic size + doesn't follow you :(

3 minutes cooldown on using the item, after 3 minutes the robot breaks apart and you can place a new one, item stays.

On the contrary, the two fighting pets draw lots of attention, provided you have a buddy with one of their own. They fire machine guns at one another, and will typically destroy each other simultaneously, although occasionally there is a clear winner. Also, when they die, they make a loud crash sound which has, on many occasion, provoked unsuspecting bystanders to say "WTF was that?!"

For most people, I suppose don't expect to get your mat cost worth without actually staging matches in public squares. For completionist engineers who realize not everything has to be useful or a massive attention grabber in order to justify being an engineer, why not get it?

There is definitley a good market for these. I just started attepmts at selling them. i made a few and gave one to a friend. We had them battle in the Org AH, and attracted a rather large crowd. I sold five at 35g each. It cost about 15g in mats per bot, so in a night I made a 100g profit. So if you have this schem, I suggest you try it out for yourself, just set up a demonstration like I did.

P.S. - it works better when your the only one on your server doing. So, it may be a bad idea to do this if you're in Exodar-Horde now because I have that monopoly on them. Competition between Engineers will only decrease profits and kill the market for these babies lol

I bought this robot recently thinking it counted towards a companion pet. it does not! BUT I was able to buy the remaining 3 off my AH and resell them for a 20g each profit. not bad for 15 minutes!

These things are great. Last night me and a couple other people were having robot wars. We even threw down a couple of bets on our robots. A fun (and addictive) way to make and lose money. By the way, it is possible for these robots to crit each other. Last night I saw one robot crit another for 40% damage.

These are kind of a let-down. They have a 3 minute cooldown to re-use.. they can't be controlled like the tonks can, and they don't even move unless there's another robot around. On top of all of this, they're BoP when you craft them, so you can't even give one to a friend to fight with.

Waste of materials in my opinion.

Ok this is lame. The bad:

1. Its a 'pet', but it won't follow you around like other pets do
2. It is a level 1 only
3. you can't control it
4. It apparently wont attack anything but other Crashin' Thrashin' Robots (? unverified)
5. The description says "To summon and dismiss", but I could find no way to dismiss it once it was out, apparently you just have to wait for the timer to run out (?)
6. It has an annoyingly noisy mechanical grinding sound while its up.

I made this in hopes that I could pull it out to help fight some of the robots in places like Mechanar, Karazhan, etc. Haven't tried it on those, but I highly doubt a lvl 1 pet will do much good even if it did attack them.

The good:

1. It stays up for 3 minutes, then 'dies', but you can use it over and over again, it doesn't lose durability or charges each time.
2. It's cute.
3. You can summon another one right after the first one 'died'.
4. Its not a trinket
5. It reminds me of the good ol days in Gnomeregan especially when it dies and the tiny gnome driver screams "Gaaaah!"

This guy isn't that cool. Finally found someone that had one. We fought, it wasn't that great. Very small. The person that pulls it out first usually wins, not always, but usually. It is worth a laugh, but only a few times. Steam tonk is much more fun. Cheaper to make and you can sell them. Steam Tonk

On my server at least ive never seen this made, never seen the plans and theres like only 4 engineers anyway. Then one day i finally saw this in ah for 400g buyout and was almost tempted to get it. After a while i realized that whats the point? Its not like tonks where you can make a bunch, give them to your friends and fight each other, bop so only engineers can use them, to figt you need the plans, make it then find someone else whos an engineer and has it too. So youd be in org on trade channel "LF engineer with crashin thrashin robot so i can finally fight someone with this thing". GG Blizzard another kick in the face.

Oh I thought this versed actual ROBOTS but i was wrong after reading these comments...

I'm most disappointed with this pet because:
1.Doesn't kill ROBOTS that hurt you.
2.Can't even directly control it.
3.BoP (EDIT: No longer BoP but now BoE since the patch)
4.Can't give to friends so you can't play games with them. (EDIT: You can now since the patch)
5.I don't even think they do ANY different attacks then the one.
6.Get's boring just WATCHING...
7.Stays in the one place =-(

Good points:
1. Has a tiny leper gnome that yells "AHHH!" (As mentioned above in another comment) after the machine gets destroyed. (LOL PWNAGE!)
2.Unlimited use! =-D

I, personally, highly recommend just getting a level 45 engineer (275+) and wait a couple of months for darkmoon faire... It's worth the wait because you can just make two, one for yourself and one for your partner that you're planning to vrs in a fun battle with Tonks (Practically Tanks (Sweet))!
(Random special ability as well and different attacks)

I would buy this guy for the "AHHH!"

EDIT: I hope that Blizzard will soon make these directly controllable as I mentioned alot of times above. I still like tonks better unfortunatly... The way to GET direct control on these sorts of guys is by going into Gnomeregan and finding them. Use your: Gnomish Remote Control (Hope you have it 'cos it's possibly one of the best engineering things you can make)
and seek out them. =-D

Oh also if you want a LIFE size one (lol) get the "Gnomish Universal Remote" and go to Gnomer meet one of these guyz and use the Gnomish Universal Remote on one of them. Well.. I could have bid and paid 90g..but the extra few to pay 113g really wasn't that much for me (a lev 70) so I just paid it. Money comes and goes but cool stuff is random!

I just hope that if I ever have to sell (of course when it becomes 'legal') my acct, that having this will make it look cooler.

That maybe one day Blizz will change the BOP status, or that they follow us around and stuff.

So for all those who decided to pass, you will feel sorry when the schematics are 500g or more later, because Blizz decided to change how 'uncool' they may be now to 'uber cool' later :)

This is now 100 times better since the most recent patch. Now it actually walks around, it doesn't follow you :( but at least it moves. it also comes in multiple colors, they randomly change each time you let it out. I feel sorry for those of you who paid 100+ on the AH for it. still not worth that much, got my schematic for 15. I love my little robots. sometimes just to be annoying I like to get this guy out, bust out the lil'smoky and hop on my mecho. so noisy I can't even hear myself type.

Simply put, even steam tonks arent that fun one on one, but when theres down time in raids, pulling out multiple of these lil fellows and fighting while you wait on ppl is a good way to pass time imo. we do it alot during kara since its a long raid and tanks some time, so during the breaks, its a fun past time. It's like Mojo, its cool, but theres no real point to it, except its fun.
