This is the Cataclysm equivalent of Glory of the Hero.

As of the current build there are no other achievements within dungeons like Less-rabi, Watch Him Die or Defenseless, but when they are added expect them to be added in here.

On that note Glory of the Hero does not require Northrend Dungeonmaster or Dungeon Hero, so these could be placeholders for now.

As of December, 13th:
Upon completing this achievement you only get a letter of The Postmaster with the subject Recovered Item. You will find the Reins of the Volcanic Stone Drake attached, along with the following text.

We recovered a lost item in the Twisting
Nether and noted that it was yours.

Please find said object enclosed.

This is somewhat disappointing, seeing as it is the standard mail you get if you couldn't loot emblems or the like. I don't know if Blizzard is going to fix/change this or if it's working as intended.

Cataclysm Dungeon Hero
Difficulty: Zero
Comment: Meh

BRC

Crushing Bones and Cracking Skulls
Difficulty: Easy
Comment: As long as tank positions correctly (AoE stuns help), this one is cake. Just dont zerg the boss too fast

Arrested Development
Difficulty: Medium-Very hard (Gear dependant)
Comment: Simple execution, hard in completion. The evolved hit extremely hard, so bring a geared group. Remember interrupts on boss AND adds and make sure you only take one at a time.

Too Hot to Handle
Difficulty: Easy-Medium
Comment: All about the tank. Stack it slowly, 1-2 at a time and the damage wont overwhelm you.

Ascendant Descending
Difficulty: Easy
Comment: Dedicate one player to kite duty. Warlocks with exhaustion, frost DKs with chillblains, hunters with trap, pretty much anything works.

Old Faithful
Difficulty: Easy
Comment: Kill the two caster adds, bring the melee add down to ~50k hp, stack up, wait for geyser, move away and voila.

Prince of Tides
Difficulty: Very easy
Comment: Just dont kill the behemoth too early. You can tank it, kite it, do whatever with it. Doesnt really even hit exceptionally hard.

Rotten to the Core
Difficulty: Very easy
Comment: Pick up ALL the mobs in front of the boss, aggro boss and aoe like %#())/(. Make sure you interrupt force grip if you are slow on aoe to prevent tank death, as you cant attempt again with the same method!

Vortex Pinnacle

No Static at All
Difficulty: Easy (With priest)-Medium
Comment: If you have a priest, keep levitate on everyone except tank. If not, then just make sure you jump. Remember, only 1 second cast, so stay awake!

Extra Credit Bonus Stage
Difficulty: Zero
Comment: Just pick them up all around VP. They spawn under bridges, in the air etc. Just look around and youll see them.

Lost city of Tol'Vir

Kill It With Fire!
Difficulty: Very Easy
Comment: Kite dark phoenix so Soul Fragment runs in to fire, nuke it down. Very simple.

Acrocalypse Now
Difficulty: Medium-Hard
Comment: Many ways to do it, including staying mounted except tank/heal (you are screwed if tank/healer gets scent), hunter traps/snares and kiting (Works 100% if you can do it) and bugging by evading the crocs on the statue thingies (Not really intended). Just make sure you have 20+ crocs up and zerg them down, you can wipe afterwards-

Headed South
Difficulty: Medium-Very Hard (Healer Intensive)
Comment: EDIT: The DK bug has been fixed, but the intended way has been discovered. Kill the LAST spawning servant first, and the shield will drop. You should have enough time to dps down the boss without hitting the shield for ages. Still healer intensive thanks to all the aoe damage.

HoO

I Hate That Song
Difficulty: Easy-Hard
Comment: Depends entirely on group makeup. If you have a pet or a healer that can interrupt the cast, its easy, but if not, your gonna have to be VERY fast in picking up the snakes on one side and running back up to be on time to interrupt boss. Just make sure you put 2 players on each side and healer stays on top.

Straw That Broke the Camel's Back
Difficulty: Very easy
Comment: Just dont get hit by the spike.

Sun of a....
Difficulty: Medium-Very hard (Depends on Gear/RNG/Classes)
Comment: This can be frustrating, as the boss almost randomly chooses how much energy he wishes to use. Sometimes you have 20 seconds to nuke before recharge, sometimes you can nuke for a minute before he starts. Warlocks can enslave adds from the chaos trash (turn off autocast on the aoe heal thingie!) to give free 7k dps if you are lacking dps. Kiting the boss to corner helps as well, as the boss runs to the center of the room always to channel. 1heal/4 dps or 4dps/1tank also helps.

Faster Than the Speed of Light
Difficulty: Medium-Hard (Bit class/Gear dependant)
Comment: Just move fast, and ignore troggs that you can. The timer isnt too strict, as long as you move quickly.

Grim Batol

Umbrage for Umbriss
Difficulty: Easy-Medium (He can gib the tank)
Comment: Kill the first adds normally, on second one, have the tank pick up the malignant trogg, take boss to <10%, kill trogg, kill boss. Pop cooldowns.

Don't Need to Break Eggs to Make an Omelet
Difficulty: Easy
Comment: Just make sure you focus DPS and have good slows. Warlock with portal/exhaustion is perfect for example.

Deadmines

Ready for Raiding
Difficulty: ...
Comment: Do. Not. Stand. In. The. Fire. You can even jump over it.

Rat Pack
Difficulty: Easy
Comment: When the oaf smashes in to the logs, rats spawn. Critters with 100 hp, just wait for enough charges.

Prototype Prodigy
Difficulty: Easy
Comment: Just dont fail with it (Just ignore the knockback), and do not get damaged on trash either, it counts as well.

It's Frost Damage
Difficulty: Easy (If you can spare a wipe)-Super hard
Comment: Take boss to 75%, move inside hut, dont kill adds, explode for bazillion damage and wipe, but youll still get the achiev. If you dont want to wipe, do some fancy kiting with a ranged dps around the hut. Or something. Or just do it the easy way.

I'm on a Diet
Difficulty: Very easy
Comment: Just go one good-one bad-one good-one bad...and so on. Youll never go above 1 stack.

Vigorous VanCleef Vindicator
Difficulty: Hard-Very hard (Gear/Class dependant a bit)
Comment: At start, jump over ledge for free 15 seconds of time. On machine part, dont panic, dont die, take it slow if you must. Its all about hard, focused dps and not failing on stupid things. And remember, only one shot per instance, so make it count!

SFK

Pardon Denied
Difficulty: Medium
Comment: Easy to perform, but little tough on healer. Just use self heals if possible.

To the Ground!
Difficulty: Medium-Hard
Comment: CC at least one of the adds always if possible (Trap/Shackle etc.), burn the other one down while stunning/interrupting it and then take the other one. If you have more cc, just burn boss and keep adds controlled.

Bullet Time
Difficulty: Easy-Medium (Curse dispel...)
Comment: Just kite adds in front of the boss when he uses Pistol Barrage. Chill on dps, and tank dont get suicidal.

And after all of that...

Enjoy your drake! Congratulations!

The achievements that most likely will give you trouble are Headed south/Vancleef/Sun of a... so get dedicated groups for those if they prove to be too hard.

If I had a nickle for everytime I did OS and we wiped cuz the raid couldn't figure out how to not get hit with an absurdly large wall of fire that is foretold by both DBM and even the in-game chat log along with everyone screaming "FIRE!" that had DBM...If I had a nickle for everytime that happened, I'd be able to afford a second account of Cata for 2 years and still have money left over for a couple lunches.

Completed this 9/17 on Kel'Thuzad - Alliance.
We knocked them all out in 2 days since the DM Vancleef achievement is a 1 shot-per-day thing.

All with the exception of Headed South were extremely easy.

Headed South we just opted to have 2 people get the achievement and we came back on a subsequent reset to get the achievement for everyone else. This really helped to minimize aoe healing for the healer (me - resto druid). We did a "1-3-2" strat. Kill the first add, stabilize, kill the third add and phasing the boss, stabilize, kill last add and blow him up. We killed him with 3 seconds left on the buff(debuff). We spent a few hours getting the strat down the first night and came back and 2 shotted it the next day.

As for the others achievements that might give people trouble..

Sun of A...: We did it with 4 dps and a tank. I (resto druid) went feral and we made quick work of him that way. With a Shaman giving us Bloodlust and Healing Rain it wasn't bad at all. I believe it took us 2 attempts. We did not think of kiting Rajh to a corner to maximize dps time but that definitely seems like the way to go.

Vigorous VanCleef Vindicator: We went into this achievement blind the first day and blew through everything and for some reason we went a minute over.. We came back the next day and realized that jumping off the ramp at the beginning bought us the time we need. We engaged Vanessa with about 40 seconds to spare.

Oh and how could I forget about the static cling achievment on Assad. Not difficult at all but you have to account for server latency and if you jump to early and before he has casted it you will get caught. Remember it's only a 1-1.5 second cast.

We're all in 346 blues with some reputation epics. It's nice to have been the first few on the realm with the achievement and drake but a few new players have gotten it since!

Arrested Development
BRC - I found it easiest to just let one Zealot evolve off of the pull, kill it, and then wait a bit for healer mana/CD's to recover and repeat. Having 2 ranged DPS to cover the beams is nice, but it's doable with one. Healer/tank can be used to cover in case of a fear. Mildly gear dependent.

Ascendant Descending
BRC - This is pretty easy. It's all up to the kiter properly kiting the mobs. As long as they don't get Thunderclapped by the boss it's not difficult. You can even use 2 kiters to help, as the actual boss fight is a joke.

Prince of Tides
ToT - Mark the Unyielding Behemoth when he spawns. Kite him around. He does 2 abilities, a targeted cone on the tank, and a short range AOE he stops to cast. Keep the cone away from the group, and move away from the AOE. In P1 this is easy, in P2 the other adds that spawn put up a stacking shadow damage debuff, making it hard to survive. Try letting DPS pick up the other adds, or kiting the boss around/cooldowns. Note that you must be alive to receive credit. Once the 3 summoners die, this is very easy.

No Static at All
VP - During the encounter you can jump to avoid getting the debuff Static Cling. You can either time it near when he starts casting, or try just spamming jump. I believe jump spam may be the most foolproof suggestion if you have issues. I tried to be fancy and watch the timer, and lost the achievement at 1.1%. Also, priest levitate works.

Kill It With Fire!
LC - During the fire phase, have the tank kite the mob. The souls follow the mob. Kite the mobs so that the souls are dragged through the fire, and kill them. The debuff stays up a few seconds after it leaves the fire. Have DPS mark a target to follow/kill, and get it low before it enters the fire. Note that you can wipe to achieve this if necessary.

Headed South
LC - We tried this the hard way, and couldn't get much past 25%. The two easiest ways to do this are to have a group with 1 tank and two healers, or to kill the 3rd add first. With 2 healers you simply do the fight as normal (very slowly) keeping the Servants alive while DPSing the boss. Once the boss is as low as you can push him (probably ~40% at least) you kill the adds. Keep in mind that each person needs to be standing on every add as it dies to gain the buff. After killing the 3rd add you have 30 seconds to bloodlust and kill him. The second way to do it is to wait for all 3 servants to spawn. Mark them, and kill the 3rd one to spawn first. This breaks the shield on the boss, and starts your timer. When the buff is low, kill the second, and repeat for the third. As the boss' shield is down, he takes full damage during this, and it becomes important to manage the boss HP against the time of your buff remaining and killing the adds.

Straw That Broke the Camel's Back
HOO - Individual achievement to ride a camel all fight. Move from the spikes that he casts on the ground. During the add phase, stay away from the earthquake graphic.

Faster Than the Speed of Light
HOO - this starts when you talk to Brann. He does RP for about 10 seconds, then the door opens. Have a defined path you will be taking worked out ahead of time. Pull all troggs to the boss and kill them while running or with the boss. Kill all 4 bosses pulling them toward the next one around 20%. Bloodlust during one of them. You need about 20s left when you kill the final boss to let the RP end and get credit. Note that you just need to engage the last boss, not defeat him.

Ready for Raiding
DM - Don't stand in the fire.

Prototype Prodigy
DM - Keep the boss at the top of the stairs and well away from the reaper. Keep the reaper away from the boss at the pull. Relies on the person piloting the reaper to not take much damage.

I'm on a Diet
DM - It seems this was nerfed and the food spawned was cut in half. Originally I found you could bubble or otherwise go immune and eat massive amounts of bad food with no debuff in order to make the fight easier. Currently, it's easy to just eat a bad food, and then a good one. As long as nobody eats 2 bad foods in a row it's easy.

Pardon Denied
SFK - Have an interrupt planned for immediately after his AOE. Probably easier to have it distinct from people interrupting his other heals. Achievement is for the heal he casts after putting everyone at 1 HP - you should have time to heal up after he casts this. Only the tank and someone will the debuff will take damage.

Bullet Time
SFK - When casting Pistol Barrage the boss is stationary and does not follow the tank. Thus you can have the tank not eat the cast. I found it easiest to keep single target attacks only, and let ghouls spawn during the pistol shot, and die during the next one. I used a Holy Wrath to lock them in place before the cast. Beware that the ghouls die easily to AOE.

Crushing Bones and Cracking Skulls
BRC - Keep single target DPS on the boss. Do not kill the adds. When the chains spawn, DPS those down very quickly. Have the tank use an AOE stun (holy wrath in my case) to lock the adds in place, then run out. You get 5 adds every spawn, so if you are fast you should still get 10 adds minimum. To be safe or if one dies, you must get a 3rd spawn.

Too Hot to Handle
I struggled a lot with this encounter when I tried running to the center of the forge and backtracking, or kiting him in a triangle around it. However, last time I found a way to do it so perfectly (pure luck I think) that I got 10 single ticks off and realized at about 15% we still needed to let him get 5 more for the achievement. What you want to do is let him stack up his buff as slowly as possible without falling off. Give the healer time to heal up the group, and help out when possible. At low HP, use a bloodlust and try to finish him off. For kiting, I had the best luck kiting in a straight line, just on the periphery of the forge.

Old Faithful
ToT - note that you can die doing this. Easiest if you have a priest to MC the mob and move them to the geyser. Choose which mob you will use and mark it (melee if no MC, caster if MC). Kill the other two. Group up loosely around the add, so that when the Geyser goes out, you can move the add to it (by the tank kiting if not MC'ed). Stun the add in the geyser and move out. Don't group up too closely, or the debuff she casts can kill your group.

Rotten to the Core
SC - There are 60 mobs standing before the alter when you pull the mob. Don't overthink it. Just have the tank facepull the mobs (they are so low HP that if you do an attack to pull them, you can kill the mob and fail the achievement). It's helpful to have a ranged DPS pull the boss so that she is in combat just after the tank pulls. Then AOE the mobs down for the achievement. You have 10s to kill them all which should be fine. The only problem is when some mobs die/nearly die off the pull and take too much damage.

Acrocalypse Now
LC - Easiest suggestion I saw is to have the DPS mount up and stay mounted during the fight. If they get the mark of blood, they just kite while mounted, which is easy. If the tank/healer get it, the tank just tanks them. When you have 20+ out (6 spawns to be safe) let the tank gather them up (and get threat) and then burn them down. You can wipe while doing this.

I Hate That Song
HOO - Have a plan for who is getting what lever, and who is interrupting. Either have 2 DPS drop on each side - letting one aggro the mobs and move off, or have some heal the people on the ground to get healing aggro and draw off the snakes. Either way, the snakes need to not interrupt the lever cast. Then have someone assigned to be up top to interrupt. The key is to keep the snakes off of the caster. Use 2 to a side and leave one person up to interrupt if necessary. Also note that the snakes do not respawn if they are already alive, so you can keep them alive and only deal with them once if you want.

Sun of a....
HOO - First we had most success with a 4 DPS 1 tank setup. Have the healer help DPS to make it easier. If you can't do that, try and get the tank/healer to do as much DPS as possible. You shouldn't need both a tank and a healer to do this fight, as he does about no damage. Second, is that you need to maximize the DPS time. To do this, you must NOT interrupt his first cast, but interrupt his second two. His first cast is like 3s long, and very easy to interrupt, however if you interrupt it you lose about 20s of DPS time. Let him cast it. Afterwards, watch for his cast of Heroic Leap - it's a 1s cast and very easy to miss. If you miss it, you will likely wipe. However, if you let him get his first cast off, and then interrupt the second two, you will gain a lot of time. We went from failing by about 20-30% to easily beating this encounter just by modifying the interrupts.

Umbrage for Umbriss
GB - CC the Shadowy Trogg until the boss is low. Burn the trogg down near the boss to give him the debuff after the boss is ~15%. He will hit hard, but it shouldn't be for very long.

Rat Pack
DM - This is cumulative. Every time Helix uses his charge ability, he slams them into the wood pile and spawns the rats. A small AOE takes care of them. You can hold DPS on him to prolong this fight and get more rats - it's easy to get all 20 in one fight.

It's Frost Damage
DM - The vapor adds that spawn cast this ability if left alive. We didn't have success with the LOS method. We all moved into the cabin and died rapidly, but still got credit because one member had DC'ed and was not standing with us. This leads me to believe you should just have your members spread out. As long as 3 casts happen and someone is still alive (by being immune, out of range, or in our case offline) the group will get credit.

Vigorous VanCleef Vindicator
DM - One of the 2 hard achievements. You must engage the boss within 5 minutes of starting the event. With a total of 5 deaths and at least one member never having seen it before we completed in 6:22 (1:22 short). You get one shot per instance. To save time you can drop over the side at the start. Focus on Helix and ignore adds. When the door opens, let the electricity get started (it can be jumpy at first) and then move through. If you don't understand it, mark someone to follow who does. 1-2 members getting through is enough to kill the boss at the end, but you lose a lot of time. If you die, you can run back and use the teleporter to the forge to help, or to the ship to wait for the group. With a group that has been here and understands the fight it should be tight, but doable.

To the Ground!
SFK - Assign an interrupter to each add. It makes the fight easier if they don't get any casts off. This is all on the interrupts.

Don't Need to Break Eggs to Make an Omelet
GB - Assign players to sides for killing adds. We treated this like Val'kyr on the Lich King encounter. The adds can be slowed, but not stunned. We had a player assigned to slow each, and 2DPS/ 1 tank, 1 DPS assigned to each. With good DPS this was very easy as long as they were slowed. At low gear levels it is challenging.

If you're looking for extra help with any of these, I'd recommend checking the comments for that particular achievement, as we pulled a lot of great info from there. Thanks to everyone else who posted their ideas.

If you have a priest, you can have your tank kite him to the courtyard. Having the priest Leap of Faith the tank as he comes into range in the hall before his room. After getting to the courtyard, have both adds CC'd and no more adds will come into the fight. Just keep up CC and rediculous easy achievement

You can shave a lotta time off by letting the werewolf nightmare fail...then quickly running back in, porting to ship, and engaging her.

As of 4.0.6 it is no longer possible to cheese Springvale or Lockmaw's achievements thru their exploits (Springvale's Courtyard kite, and Lockmaw's Run-Like-A-Scared-Kitten-Up-Statues trick)

Springvale must be kept in his room or he will gain a buff called Separation Anxiety which increases the damage he does by 200%

As for Lockmaw.....Blizz just simply made the statues impossible to jump on.

The drake is beast, but still no /mounspecial

as for the achieves.....

Headed South- makes you want to hit something VERY HARD. This is probably the hardest of em all.
To the Ground!- After 4.0.6 it isn't as easy to get, but if you have good dps(about 15k+) you can blast through it. Done in about 46 seconds with a warrior and 2 rets.

Many of the other achieves are minor, some you may even get by accident.

Just got this achievement and my beautiful mount ]today. Most of these you are gonna need to form a group to get. In 4.3 alot of them are easier than they should be and alot should be a given
