I have some bad news regarding this pet- while Conflagrate does excellent base damage (30, at 95% hit chance); this pet cannot execute the conflagrate-scorched earth combo on an elemental opponent as they do not qualify as burning due to the elemental-type passive (ignore harmful weather conditions). This is atypical of pets that can execute the conflag-burn combo as all of the others (listed below) are capable of applying a non-weather effect DoT that confers the Burning status.

As mentioned, Conflagrate on a burning target does insane damage. This combo comes on Spirit of Summer, Silver Dragonhawk Hatchling, Searing Scorchling ,Red Dragonhawk Hatchling, Phoenix Hatchling, Pandaren Fire Spirit, Ominous Flame*,Lil' Ragnaros, Harbinger of Flame, Golden Dragonhawk Hatchling, Fel Flame, Dark Phoenix Hatchling, and Blue Dragonhawk Hatchling. Only this pet, Ominous Flame, cannot execute the combo on an elemental.

As for its other abilities, Nimbus is a relatively weak spell - 10% extra hit over 9 turns works out to .9 extra attacks over nine turns (10% * 9 = 1 90% damage hit). The only real way to capitalize on this is to switch to a pet with long-cooldown, low-accuracy moves. Unfortunately, even so, the Pig type pets from RAF/China promotions/Children's Week have a much better +accuracy move that also increases critical strike chance. On the other hand, Foreboding Curse is quite a decent move - if you switch into a pet with a move such as Quills, Thrash, Alpha Strike etc, you'll not only out-speed your opponent, you'll deal extra damage on each hit.

Edit - Nimbus now adds 20% accuracy; I'd say it's a worthwhile build around now.

Went on a pet grind in the timeless isle, as I had not caught any of them that drop there. Ominous Flame dropped around the 100 mark. Which I was thrilled about

Buying this pet does NOT trigger the Going To Need A Bigger Bag achievement requirement. It must be looted

This pet, along with all the other TImeless Isle pets CAN be obtained while in a raid group even though it may appear that the mob you kill has no loot. This is because the Timeless Coins cannot drop in a raid whilst everything else can, meaning you can make free use of switching between realms via the in-game group finder to kill fresh sets of new mobs!

750+ kills so far and no pet. That seems like extremely bad luck. I fished up the sea turtle in only 1116 casts and I hope this doesn't come close.

EDIT: When it dropped the final count was 867.
