what on earth is a radiant discord difficulty

Basically the first step is to complete the achievement A Series of Echoes which will unlock the actual Radiant Discord mode. Every 24 hours 2 new Worldsoul Memories will spawn. You must complete each one at least once, survive the entire 5 minutes inside, you don't even have to kill anything. You need 1x Radiant Echoes per Worldsoul for this mode.

The next part of this achievement is to kill the actual rares, I recommend grouping with someone to kill as many as you can as fast as possible since you only have 5 minutes, each Worldsoul Memory has a set of rares that spawns as time goes on in the event, you basically want to kill all of them in one go if possible, so it is a race.

Radiant Echoes are received from Bountiful Coffers inside Bountiful Delves once again, on a set timer that changes to another bountiful delve per zone every 24 hours. You need 5x total Radiant Echoes in order to start one. The weekly Restored Coffer Key cap seems to be 4 per character not counting the renown vendor rewards, with no catch up system at the moment, so you will have to actively get these on one character or alts.

Once you complete the Bountiful Delve on one character, you cannot repeat it again for the Bountiful Coffer rewards until the next 24-hour rotation, this is why alts makes this way faster.

You can also do this with the same phase as people running it on normal or 1x Echo version.

The order in which the rares spawn is completely random.

I tried my first Radiant Discord today but somehow I paid 10 Radiant Echos.. it said it costs 5 but I lost 10 of them

Can anyone confirm if this is doable in a raid group? Because for some of the achievements you do not get any credit if you are in a raid group.

Can confirm you indeed can do the achievement in a raid group making this the easiest way to get this.

The event itself somewhat is still bugged. I just used the highest difficulty which consumed 10 instead of 5 echos and i only got 36 keys out of it, while the score was way way higher...

Here's a command that should work to help you track your progress in each event and zone. It's short enough to be added as a macro or pasted directly into the chat window:

This achievement seem bugged, no credit goes towards it, even when you kill the rares.

The first time i did Radiant Discord (3rd option), i had 12 Echos in the inventory and it did consume 10 (i was left with 2....).

Today i went to "try" it out on alts, 1 alt had 6 echos and 1 had 7. Both times it did consume 5. And yes, i was choosing the third option - Radiant discord. Both times i was getting credit for rares killed, so it was a right difficulty. As of rares killed, both times i finished at 4/5 for achievement.

My suggestion for now is not to use 3rd option (radiant discord) if you have 10 or more echos.

Edit:
Today (18.09) i did 1 worldsoul in the Isle of Dorn and i had 9 echo, used the 3rd option and it did consume ALL 9 ? I don't get it how it works....

Got the achievement after about ~60% of rares killed https://i.imgur.com/up6BlpV.png . Most likely achievement was changed, but text isnt.

I've received this achievement today after completing a little over half of the required rares that have to be killed. Here's a Screenshot

My guess is that the achievement is changed to kill 20 of the 40 unique rares but the text still says that you need to kill all of them. I assume this will we changed in a future patch.

For those wondering: choosing Radiant Discord DOES NOT put you in a 'Radiant Discord only' phase. You'll be in the same phase of those doing the usual 1x-5x. You don't need to make/find 'Radiant Discord' groups.

Unless I'm missing something, there doesn't seem to be a reason to utilize Radiant Discord difficulty any longer after earning this achievement. The rewards between Many Radiant Echoes and Radiant Discord have been identical for me.

Just some info regarding this achievement:

Radiant Discord difficulty is basically the 'hard mode' version of Radiant Echoes difficulty, both of which are options at the Worldsoul Memories events that rotate zones daily (2 per zone). After recent hotfixes, to enter costs five Radiant Echo, like the "Many Radiant Echoes" option. These Radiant Echo are obtained from completing Bountiful Delves.

There's only three differences on the Radiant Discord difficult from what I could tell, compared to the Radiant Echoes difficulty.

The first is there is now a Harmony bar which slowly depletes over time. If the bar depletes, you will be kicked out of the phase. To replenish the bar, you must collect azerite orbs that drop from killing enemies. The bar has a maximum of 100 harmony. Each orb from regular enemies gives 20 harmony. Rare enemies drop a larger orb that gives 100 harmony.

Next is Azeroth's Pain, an ability only you can see that spawns pools. If you stand in a pool you take damage and lose 5 harmony every second.

Finally is Azeroth's Fury, another ability only you can see that spawns a beam that will slowly follow you indefinitely. Coming into contact with the beam will damage you, knock you back and remove 20 harmony.

As a note - choosing Radiant Discord difficulty does not put you into a completely separate phase than those choosing the Radiant Echoes difficulty, so feel free to do this in a group/raid. Only you can see the hard mode mechanics.

The rare enemies spawn periodically whilst in the phase, and after recent hotfixes, the achievement requires you kill 20 of the 40 possible rares. There are 5 rares that can spawn in every Worldsoul Memory, but seems to be RNG which spawns. If you visit all 8 Worldsoul Memories locations and manage to kill 2-3 rares in each, that should be enough to get the achievement after visiting all 8 locations. I obtained the achievement today after using 35 Radiant Echo, visiting 7 of the 8 Worldsoul Memories once and killing 3 rares in each.
