I did the quest for this guy on my 80 Rogue, and he spawned as L81. Wasn't hard to kill, just a curious thing I noticed. Anyone else have a similar experience?

For anybody whose powers of observation are as awful as mine, please note that he appears as a spectre floating several feet above the bed in front of Malia after she yells for him to show his ugly mug.

I have now done it 10 times with out to get it completed!

Lore: If anyone remembers the quest letter ("A Letter to Yvette" written by Thurman Agamand) that could be found on Rattlecage skeletons or the sorcerers, Devlin Agamand was the one who betrayed the Agamand family when the Scourge attacked, allowing them inside the perimeter and even murdering a few of the farm hands. The letter describes Devlin as being a selfish, weak man who readily threw his allegiance with the Scourge, who rewarded him with undeath. He was scum all around and it's no surprise he attacks you when his spirit is resurrected.

I have the same problem I tried not going upstairs but that only keeps you alive. I tried to attack but it says invalid target. How am I supposed to fight something the game says isn't a target?

When I did this quest, upon his transformation from human ghost to more ghosty looking ghost (you know, the one that attacks you), TWO NPCs appeared. One was "Spirit of Devlin Agamand", who acted as you would expect, and there was a second one, "Shadow of Agamand (NPC Version)", which did nothing, was level ?, and could not be attacked.

If you have issues completing this, keep in mind that you need to kill the ghost that spawns after all the dialogue (way up over the bed, you might have to angle your camera up). However, the ghost has very little HP so if you're not quick at tagging it the NPC will kill it before you have a chance to and then you don't get credit for it.

Also if you're a pet class with heirloom gear, your pet might go and 1 shot it as well, which - you guessed it - means you don't get credit. Just use some instant spell as soon as you see the ghost spawn.

Atleast this happened for me, if you /sleep in the bed he wont attack you and you complete the quest.

Description

While the Frozen Throne lies dormant, the grasp that the Lich King once held over the Scourge grows ever-weaker. His grip on a weakling like Devlin Agamand should be weak enough that we can remove it entirely.

Speak with Shadow Priestess Malia in the manor on the east side of town. She will assist you in the procedure.
