Just behind the questgiver there is the robot called S.T.O.U.T you are looking for. Turn your face to it and drink the beer. Very easy and simple.

In addition to doing the quest, you can throw the beer at the robot without the quest, for fun. Also, is this quest a daily?

Just stand right next to him (like on top almost!) and throw it.

Nothing worked for me except stacking right on top of him and then drinking. Doing that I got 100% accuracy and the very satisfying "bonk" sound. Drinking enough mugs to hit him 5 times will get you drunk, but that's no hindrance to completing the quest.

If other people are trying this too, it may take you a little while. When he gets hit I believe he can't be hit again for a second or so.
But yes. Standing on top of him and drinking the beer works. :)

Tried for over an hour on my lvl 57 rogue and tried it all-and got nothing.

Level has nothing to do with it, 80 and I couldn't land a hit on him period, if he gets hit you have to wait a few seconds, pretty annoying and poorly designed.

Wish it worked right, it would be a fun carnival type game.

I did both versions, Alliance and Horde, for this. The Alliance one was ridiculously easy, and this one was impossible. I finally came here, read the tip above, and did the "stand on top of it" thing. Worked like a charm. Only upside of 5 minutes of chucking was that I could kill all the pink elekks without drinking any extra. :-)

A couple people apparently went through and rated down virtually every post, but I still swear level seems to matter. My lvl 80 could hit the robot from range 100% accuracy, so could a 58, while with a lvl 30 and 20 I had to stand on top of it to hit at all.

Also, my lvl 80 had no trouble whacking iron dwarves just by spamming the steins, while my lvl 30 whiffed every throw unless I managed to get on top of them without getting knocked back.

Of course it's possible there's something else going on and it was just coincidence which character I happened to be logged on to. <-- ok, there's definitely something screwy going on, and I guess it's not level based. I just logged on to a lvl 21, and hit the robot 5 straight times from range, while another player next to me couldn't hit it until he stood on top of it

Zoom in on your character so that it is first person. Then look at the target, throw, and it works fine.

For those who don't know what to do: go to the tables in the tent behind the quest giver. When you mouse over the beers on the tables, you'll see a gear sign, cilck one of the mugs, then click it in your inventory to make yourself throw it at the robot walking around behind the tent. After you hit him 5 times you're done.

You must take the jars that are winged you turn in the quest and launch each jar to a robot like this in the area, see the guide

Still bugged 9/21/2017. Threw about 10 mugs, nothing. Tried standing right on top of target, tossed 7 mugs, nothing. Disabled all addons, threw several more, nothing. Completely exited WoW and restarted, NOTHING. Thanks, Blizz. I appreciate your urgency in fixing this... especially since it's been bugged for 8 years now.

You have to pickup the beers off the wooden table tops, they will show a "cogwheel" on mouse hover. Once you pick on of those up, target the "Self-Turning and Oscillating Utility Target" orcs and throw the picked up item, they run in random circles inside a wooden fence area behind a few tents. Doing "/target Self" and then placing a marker icon on them is an easy way to find. There is a table inside the tent closest to the orc NPC that has beers for you to throw

Anyone just flat out not able to pick up a mug? Disabled addons, tried relogging, all of it. Dropped quest and tried to pick up item from the tables scattered around, and nothing worked.

If you've clicked the item and it's not doing anything, check your bags. You should have non-alcoholic sampler (beer mug icon). Use it like a normal drink and it'll chuck the mug in the general direction of the target.

Hope that helps save folks frustration and time. It's not immediately obvious that it's in your bags.
