Profit Margin for making Hot Apple Cider

(Purchasing 20 of each mat - ie. 20 Sparkling Apple Cider, 20 Holiday Spices, and 20 Holiday Spirits)

x5 = 10s (or 2s each)

x5 = 10c (or 2c each)

x1 = 50c

Mats for 20 of each totals: 50s 40c (or 2s 52c each)

At 20 of each you actually create 40 Hot Apple Ciders. Each stack of 20 Hot Apple Ciders vendor buys back at 32s.

40 Hot Apple Ciders Vendor buys back at 64s

Profit Made: 13s 60c per 20 stack of mats (or per 40 Hot Apple Ciders).

Purchasing 160 of each mat took 1.4 minutes.
Cooking 160 mats took 9 minutes.
Selling Hot Apple Cider to vendor took about 1 minute (Kept getting: "That object is busy." displayed on screen.)

Total time rounded up: 13 minutes

Profit for above: 1g 8s 80c

At 13 minutes that equals about 995 hours to make 5,000g

I was bored. No cash cow. But when you have arena and or BG waits of over 7 minutes. This can keep you busy. (PS: In IF you don't have to run around looking where to cook this, as there is a Dwarven Brazier next to Santa that you can cook with.)

Making one of these is a requirement of the Winter Veil achievement The Winter Veil Gourmet. Unless Blizzard reduce the cooking level required to make Sparkling Apple Cider, currently at 325, this is going to be a serious sticking point for those without cooking skills. This will in turn make completing all of the Winter Veil achievements in order to gain The Merrymaker World Event achievement/title difficult and expensive.

If you're below 325 in cooking, better start leveling your cooking now.

Any chance for X-Mas in July? This is the only recipe I can get to achieve Iron Chef. I just never played the game at that time of year.

Recipe: Hot Apple Cider which makes Hot Apple Cider is obtainable in the following ways:

This recipe is only available during the Feast of Winter Veil each year.
SOME horde and alliance characters will receive this recipe in their mailbox for every character that has cooking as a profession - it will arrive on the first day of the Winter's Veil event and the sender is Greatfather Winter himself. Blizzard have not confirmed as to why some people get it and others don't.
Horde chefs can also purchase this recipe from:
- Nardstrum Copperpinch in Undercity
- Penney Copperpinch in Orgrimmar
- Seersa Copperpinch in Thunderbluff
- Eebee Jinglepocket in Shattrath
- Alliance chefs can also purchase this recipe from:

- Wulmort Jinglepocket in Ironforge
- Eebee Jinglepocket in Shattrath
- If you do not have a chef amongst your animated minions, you can simply commission someone to make the Hot Apple Cider for you or hit your local AH.
