AQ20 is where this spell absolutely SHINES. Our guild has relised an AQ20 run without druids is a raid with a lot of deaths.

When you first enter, your best bet is to root one of the guards and tank the other away. When moving further in, root the little white ones(reds are immune) and bring the bug packs down one by one.

Down the hunter tunnel root the reds away and keep their AOE ailence away from the tanks. In the hunter room, root the little white ones again, this time the bug packs go from 3 to 5 bugs.

We set up designated rooters everytime and this spell, which I hardly ever used previously, now has a permanet place in my heart :)

Used by druids... very annoying when you're facing druids if you don't have any long ranged weapons.

Great for pve and pvp. I use it a lot when players are on a mount even though most can escape it atlest they need to get off there mount to escape the effect or till they take damage. I tend to root them go into car form or bear and rip them a new one :) Try next time one great skills from stopping someone from running away,

One question, does anyone know the scaling of this? ~200%, like a DoT of that duration?

If so, this seems quite powerful for damage actually, seeing Brambles gives +75% damage, that'd mean ~350% scaling over the 27s, with a basedamage of nearly 600.

Yes, but you want to root the enemy instantly, use Nature's Grasp. Nature's Swiftless is very usable with long-casting healing spells

Don't use this for spell damage, if you pull 2 mobs, root one, and focus on the other (spamming wrath and putting on your dots is probably the most viable option).

Please don't get Brambles too.

Note that this spell was hit with the nerf bus a few months ago, reducing its usefulness by quite a bit. It will last a maximum of 12 seconds (I think, it might be 10), and every time you use it in succession, the time it will last is reduced by 50%. (12, 6, 3, immune). It used to last its full duration, and it was easy to root the enemy, casually get your heals off, then attack them again when you're ready.

Also, this spell can break on its own damage, and does so very often against crits especially.

Most mobs that can use this spell have an overpowered version of it. It even works in caves for them, while you can not.

In pvp this, in theory, looks very overpowered. Root a warrior and he can't come near you at all. Put another dot on him to kill him slowly.

Actually, with 1200 spelldamage and Brambles this move could cause quite some damage.

351 * (1.575*1200) * 1.75 (Brambles) = 3921 damage!

Yeah you can use it indoors = cc for druids in groups, witch is actually quite nice, a feral tank can cc a melee as a ranged pulling tool, or think about this: cc a healer and get the mobs out of healing range

Though it won't have any immediate effect on casters, remember that you can still do this during the pull in an instance and the tank (whoever that may be) can just pull the mobs around a corner (if possible) to perform the age old LOS trick.

You have to consider that this is a very powerful spell because it effects demons, beasts, dragonkin, humanoids, undead, etc.

Where as polymorph, shackle, banish, seduction, and the others all have limitations on who you can cast them on, caster type mob or not.

This spell is awesome-o now. The only problem is the heart beat chance it'll break, but that runs along with most CC types.

It always seemed pretty dumb that roots could not be used in caves, houses and other ground based indoor areas. Now... Mobs beware! I can now use my outdoor strat indoors. Great upgrade.

As a balance druid when i kill mobs 1 at a time i can usually kill them before they get me.

Root/MF/IS -> Starfire -> Wrath spam from max range (Or starfire its on low enough hp to get killed by it or the first one proc'd stun)

Entangling roots, believe it or not does benefit from spell power...its spell power coefficient is 10% per tick.

In PvP, it seems to work first for about seven seconds, then three, then one, then none with roughly five seconds before it'll work again.

It took me a long time to find out this one does not cause aggro and pull mobs. Thus it is a very valid form of CC for any melee type of mob, making it very handy.
