You'll probably need to find a buddy to run this one. He roams the area North of Oshu'gun and is immune to rooting/snaring.

Hard to give proper Co-ords since he moves around quite a bit. Spawns NW of the ruins and walks along to the NE. He is relatively slow when in combat so can be kited.

Immune to fear however.

As a shadow priest, he hit me for around 400-500 per hit and had over 20k health, not too easy to solo, bring a friend.

Pretty easy to solo, did this as a 67 feral druid. Doesn't hit terribly hard. Immune to root and stun however.

Soloable by a 68 Enhancement shaman (With this strat he should be cake for a warlock):

1. Pull him out of the heard with a low-end lighting bolt.
2. Pop your 20-minute cooldown earth elemental.
3. Let him get positive aggro.
4. Keep him healed.
5. Auto-attack with the occasional Stormstrike (Don't pull aggro).
6. About midway through your mana pop Shamanistic Rage.
7. Watch in amazement as the elite falls while you still have a full health bar.
8. Profit.

Yes, I did die a couple times trying to get things right. Each time I died it was because I either pulled him off my elemental or adds (wind elemental, Bull Ellek) came with him.

i finished a bag of soul shards trying to enslave felguards to solo him... and he's still not dead :( the demons either broke early, like 10 seconds after enslavement, or broke midfight, or durn came and wtfpwned me. /wrists

using a felguard to solo the elite mobs in these quest chains is the easiest thing for a lock to do. but like the guy said before enslaving is really hit and miss. sometimes it breaks mid fight and they both kill you or it doesn't work at all and the felguard kills you before you manage to enslave it.

the engineers at the forge camps can also enslaved but tend to break within a few mins.

Enslaved a lvl 67 Felguard at Forge Camp Fear... Took like 30 sec's to kill Banthar. The Felguard had atleast 85% hp left after the fight. Easy as pie ;)

Warlocks: if you are enslaving Felguards from Forge Camp: Hate to solo these bosses, you may notice they resist and break a ton, at least that's what it seemed to me.

I switched to Forge Camp: Fear to get one and no resists, alot less breaks.

Solo'd as a 65 BM hunter.

Marked and pulled him with serpent sting. Kited to about 80% before I ran into other mobs(couldn't keep kiting without getting aggro). Turned my pets growl on and proceeded to tank and spank him to about 5% while keeping my pet healed. My pet died, but I dropped an immolation and kited him untill dead. This guy is not an easy kill.

Soloed by a lv65 Paladin Prot/Holy spec. Using Righteous Fury, Greater Blessing of Wisdom, Justiced- Seal of Light, Using Seal of Blood. Took Lay on Hands, Divine Shield, and two pvp bought mana pots. Got really close but won over in the end since with gear my Hammer of Justice is at 35 second cooldown.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I am having issues with the felguard, even under enslavement. He is leashing at a certain point near Aeris Landing. This makes it impossible for a warlock with a forgecamp pet to solo Banthar, Durn, or Tusker.

If Halaa is on your faction you can simply kite Banthar to Halaa. Just make sure you deal alot of damage first. Maybe wait a little before you go to Halaa.

Enslaved one of the elite Felguards, took out both Gutripper and Bach'lor.
Killed some shiz until he was low on health, waited until he let loose, killed him.

Enslaved another Felguard for Banthor, leashed himself, they dissappear if you are far enough away from you and seem to run or teleport back to their spawn point.

About to go enslave another one to kill Tusker >:]

Managed to solo all 3 elite Mastery quests as a 66 feral druid with ok gear, used the same method for them all. Start in cat, pounce and shred, go bear, demoralizing roar (VERY IMPORTANT) ,and just stack lacerate to 5 and maul and mangle away till you hit about 50% health then bash till stunned (If you go realy low and still no stun you can change to cat and use the combo points you should still have to maim it) heal with Rejuve and Regrowth or as i did a healing touch and then swich back to bear and continue the previous method and the kills should be easy!
-Try to keep Demoralizing roar up all the time
-Avoid moving around much so no extra pulls
-Dont forget about Frenzied Regeneration if things go realy bad

Only died once and that was my first attempt on the Talbuk

A very very good way to do it for druids is to start on him with a starfire then hit him with a moonfire. Once thats done just kite him along a road or anything. What i did was kept moonfiring him when i had about 3 seconds or so left on my previous moonfire.

couple things that can go wrong i made this mistake twice i ended up running into the alliance town by following the road, and when i went to go around it i ended up getting dazed by a mob. You can go oom but if your balance or got a good mana pool (7k or so) you should be fine.

!!THIS START CAN BE DONE WITH ALMOST ANY MINI BOSS!!

On a side not you can prob do this as a mage just blind any time he gets to close and spam ice lance and fireblast

Solo'd all Clefthoof/Talbuk/Windroc Mastery as a 66 hunter. Had to have pet tank Gutripper due to the knockback. For Bach'lor and Banthar I just kited. Keep Cheetah on the entire time, keep a good distance from Bach'lor as it has a charge, rotate serpent sting and arcane shot as needed, and drop an immolation trap, making sure that the mob runs over it. Easy strategy for Banthar is to kite him to Telaar after you take off a decent chunk of his health to make sure you get credit for the kill.

i found him at 47,63 right buy the oshu'gun not easily soloable he hits pretty hard. you dont need to take out his folowers if u have a caster he can be drawn away from them :) gl

I recently soloed this quest as a 66 Warlock by enslaving one of the Felguard Legionnaire from the nearby Forge Camp. As long as you can find Banthar within a couple of minutes of enslaving the demon you'll have enough time to take him down.

The Felguard's are quite tough and hit hard, so they can tank him no problem. After sending the Felguard in, just DoT him up and blast him with Shadowbolts until he's down. Make sure you have enough time left on the enslave, and keep some distance in case it breaks early. Suddenly getting aggro from both Banthar and the Felguard could be a painful (but brief) experience.

Soloed him as a 65 frost mage today and it was very difficult but Bach'lor was even harder and I haven't been able to beat Gutripper yet.

Pulled with my water elemental which he tore apart very quickly. Used ice barrier, popped icy veins and spell power trinkets (for 740+ sp) and frostbolted him down. I had to recast ice barrier and use lifeblood but I didn't need a potion or fel blossom or mana shield like I did on Bach'lor.

Easily soloable by a 66 Holy Paladin. Holy Shock, Judgement, Consecrate. Heal when necessary. I had Seal Of Wisdom on, and used Judgement of Wisdom to keep my mana up. Plus I used one Fel Iron Bomb at the start, but that doesn't do much.

Easily soloable as a 67 feral druid. I have 2050 AP in cat form, what I did was start off in catform, pounce, mangle, tiger's fury (kind of jungle proc), rake, rip, then go to bear form. Have the primal gore talent, each time a rip or lacerate crits, it procs savage defense, which helps a lot. I finished the fight with 80% hp. I did not have to heal once.

What got me the first time is not Banthar himself, but a couple of wandering elekk bulls that came in the scene, along with one of those cyclone looking things. A bit too much. The thing I saw from following him around was that he tends to roam along a path that is usually surrounded by hostile beasts of one kind or another, including that damn elite Durn, who can become an unwelcome surprise at a least needed time.

However, I did find a spot where he is solo for a good long time, away from other mobs: at 31.60 there is an outcropping of rocks just off the road, across from the Aeris Landing entrance. Banthar wanders alone past this point during his roaming circle, and can be easily taken down here without any fear of participation by other nasties.

When alone, he's almost nothing, except for a nasty knock-back. As a 66 BM hunter, I had to chug a mana pot when I ran out, otherwise it was an uneventful battle.

1. I think I was stupid here and picked off his herd one by one you could probably pull him out alone.
2. Keep diseases up and use heart strikes and death strikes, keep you healed and do damage.
3. When you get full runic pop dancing rune weapon, should be dead very soon.

Solod as a 65 feral druid in pretty good tank gear, 6% hit rating.

You don't need to kill his followers, but make sure you engage him in an area where there are no hostile enemies.

I started off with a Pounce, then kited him away from his group (so I wouldn't have to worry about multi-target attacks).

Try to get a Shred and a Ferocious Bite on him, then go into bear form and tank away. Use Berserk at this time and mangle spam (you will be in an endless rage mode if you are at my level).

Another piece of advice; he IS vurnerable to stuns (such as Bash), so if you need to, stun him and use a bandage real fast.

I used two netherweave bandages (only got half out of the first one), survival instincts, a couple healing spells, one major healing potion. When he was finished I had about 1/5 of my health left.

Very easy to solo as an arcane mage, level 68, just cast slow and spam arcane barrage on cooldown, you might have to blink out of range a few times and refresh slow.

Soloed as a level 64 resto shaman in mostly blues and BoAs. I tried once as ele but couldn't keep up with the damage intake.

The main challenge is mana management - even with a mana pot and mana tide I went oom and died twice as resto before figuring out what I was doing. I dropped Searing, Stoneskin, Mana Spring and Wrath of Air, and used mana shield. I would not recommend Earth Shield, because it's not enough healing to make up for the mp5 you lose by not having Water Shield on.

The trick I found was to crit, crit, crit. I only used LHW with Tidal Waves up, and of course Riptide to proc them. This spared my mana enough that on the attempt I actually downed her, I had to use neither a mana pot nor mana tide totem.

It took a while - I was only attacking with white attacks, Searing Totem and Earth Shock - but I took her down.

EDIT: I successfully completed the entire quest chain with this strategy, though I believe i was level 65 when I took down the elekk.

Solo'd him quite easily as 66 Marksmanship Hunter.

Pop whatever buff's you have then Just let pet hold agro, and steady shot/Arcane Shot him, use "mend Pet" about every 12 seconds, and you should be good to go.

I also would like to recommend a addon called X-Perl Unitframes as it's agro meter is very nice

This came extremely easy to me as a 66 warlock I just tanked with my voidwalker, summon doomguard, bane of agony, and then blasted him with spells. Didn't even take a hit. (might help to use health funnel to heal your walker)

I don't know why he is such a challenge for some people. As a 66 Shadowpriest, i soloed him very easily. Mind blast, dot, dot, dot, Mind flay, mind flay, dot, dot, dot, dead. Just keep a bubble around yourself. I didn't even have to heal.

Soloed as a 67 Feral Druid. Easy as pie. I would think that any paladin, druid, shaman, hunter, warlock, death knight, or mage should be able to easily solo this at level 65+. just kite him (any class) or heal when you get low on health (Druid, Shammy, Pally) pet tanking works too (Hunter, Warlock, Frost mage, Death Knight) have fun.

Soloed at 70 with prot warrior. He's got a "flock" of clefthooves following him, but they are neutral, so kite him away and watch the AoEs if you TC or Devastate near them. Actually, it's probably a good idea to get them in the mix, so you can VR off of killing them and get some healz. Had a void warp thingy in the battle too, they were all over the place so watch out for them as well. Killing the other cleftys so I could use VR a bunch probably what kept me alive in this one.

Soloed as 64 MM Hunter with kitty pet last night. Will try to finish other quests today. Had Glyphs of Mending, Feign Death, and Disengage equipped (along with others) which I found extremely useful. Would def recommend using them for this fight if available. Mob isn't too difficult, but there are alot of mobs in the area which can aggro and make the fight alot more difficult.

I had a tuff time with this one even to L70 Hunter. Died about 4 times until I could get the big bull alone in the front of the parade of all the others, and the wind guys, and the blue guys.
If you have same prob, try this:
I hid with my tenacity bear behind the plateau\rock at about 32 64 behind that rock that juts out from the plateau. You have to wait a while, but he comes in front of the pack and is alone. Send the pet, and then u can just drill him, no aggro, its one-on-one. Dead in maybe 5 or 6 hits.
