if you are stuck, just log out and then log on, the quest and item for it should appear in your inventory & quest list :)

⚠️ Heads up! To complete this quest, you only need to scrap the "Legion Armor Scraps" item in your inventory — it looks like a waffle or honeycomb.
Do NOT make the mistake I did and scrap all your gear. Just the quest item is enough!

The ability Unraveling Sands, that you use to scrap items appears in the same place as your Zone Ability Button! I looked in my spellbook, reset, and checked several places before I saw it on my screen during the quest 😅.

Nave blown 3 hours trying to figure this stupid quest out. As instructed, used the item that Momentus gave me to summon Unravelling Sands and it did nothing. Now no way anywhere to process Legion Armor Scraps so can't complete quest so stuck forever in Dalaran.

Appreciated other suggestions here but none of them helped. Tried pretty much every button on screen and in Spellbook but nope.

Probably doing something dumb but any suggestions ?

UPDATE: Yep, dumb. Abandon quest, take it again, use the item Erus gives you right away. Forge behind him will light up and use it to process the Scraps.

I figured it out! I stepped into a clear space away from the two NPCs, moused over the golden time swirl after clicking on the icon - I got the gear-wheel cursor, which when I clicked brought up the same Scrapping interface of 9 squares we've had since BfA. Grab the armour scrap item from your inventory, drag it into the interface, and you're done!

The "Unraveling Sands" will be the same action button as any that you use in raids or dungeons. It should be somewhere near your action bars. It looks like a golden egg being held by a hand. When you click on it, it will put up a golden portal looking thing in front of you. You right click on the portal and it will bring up a window with nine spaces. To update the quest, you just have to add the golden scrap in your inventory to one of the boxes and click "Scrap." Your quest should update for you.

Don't be like me and scrap every piece of armor in my bags only for the quest not to update.

Obliterate, Then Iterate

Use the Unraveling Sands ability to summon the Unraveling Sands, then place the Legion Armor Scraps in the sands to scrap it into Bronze.

Description

Artifact is not what catches eye of Erus. No. You have demon armor scraps. Now, you might think to yourself, 'but Erus, demon armor scraps are junk', and you might be right. But Erus sees demon scraps and he does not see junk, he sees bronze. bronze hidden in the junk. Listen closely, Erus will teach you how to use the Unraveling Sands. You put junk in sands, sands unravels it, and then you get bronze from the ashes. Try using the Unraveling Sands and then toss in the Legion armor scraps.
