This quest is bugged on the beta realms. You're being kept in combat by infinitely respawning mobs, thus preventing the use of the "Channel Light" ability in the indicated spot. As a result you cannot complete the quest. Killing the player character doesn't solve it either.

just tried and all i could do was direct attack and of course after fiddling about got smoked. Rezzed and extra button appeared. then no problem.

I'm not stuck in combat cause I can mount my ride, but i still can't channel the light.

I tried everything that had been mentioned, I never saw the extra action button appear. Then I turned off my addon Dominoes and the extra action button appeared when I stepped into the swirling circle. I was able to channel the light and finish that quest.

I couldn't use the action button in the circle. I was able to fix my problem by taking off my "Durable Information Securing Container" (belt). It has a passive attack that kept tagging enemies. Once the belt was off, I was able to click.

Couldn't use the extra action button. I did agro a mob on the way in. I went to finish it off because I was also "pacified". So Blizz is adding effects to make sure you don't have a a workaround on the bugged stuff?

Create a new one with any name/icon

Then in the command enter: /click ExtraActionButton1

I had to dismiss my pet to be able to use the extra action button.

Tried everything listed above- only thing that worked was exiting both the game AND battle.net launcher, then I was finally out of combat.

Do not use the "warp slicer" epic weapon on the mob. It will jerk you into the mob's crotch where you will be trapped with no way to exit until you slowly die.

Stuck in combat as Rogue, still in combat even with vanish. Couldnt logout or exit game so I ALT+F4, reopen, and still stuck in combat, Died to the mobs, rezzed in the bubble dome and still combat

EDIT: As Erithmael said earlier, exiting both the game AND battle.net launcher, then I was finally out of combat.
