Assuming you're going from 0 neutral to 0 friendly, you'll need 3000 rep points, which means you'll need to turn in this quest 120 times. That's 240 scales, 120 coal, and 480 iron bars.

After done Fiery Flux quest, you get 275 rep. That is 2725 rep to go.

To save more iron, do 3 another quests from board near Lookout Captain Lolo Longstriker.
And 3 quests too from Hansel Heavyhands.

Each gives you 275 rep = 1650 rep (alliance human). That saves around 60 turnins = 60x4 = 240 iron bars or 240 Kingbloods (or 60x10 = 600 heavy leathers). There is now only 1075 rep = 39 turnins = roughly 160 pieces for iron bar or kingblood (390 pieces for heavy leather).

Yes, you need only 160 / 390 pieces for 3000 rep instead of 400 pieces!
That saves grinding time and money very much! If you don't want 6 quests, you're pretty crazy doing.

These are 6 quests you can do easy around the Cauldron.

And Blacksmithers can do extra rep with Imperial Plate gear.

As with most reputations, the 2.3 nerf took this to 250 rep per turn in, effectively making this a fairly easy farm, even to exalted.

The first turn-in for this (as well as for the other two similar quests) does NOT count for the Loremaster achievement.

in Patch 3.0.8 blizzard increased the reputation gains for old factions. Seems they forgot this one though... Still 25 rep per hand in...

FYI - he sells the coal (you only need one) once you have the scales and iron bars. Ironic, eh?

There is a forge next to him, so you can make the iron bars right there.

For the scales you get quite a few of those from the incendosaurs in the pit - there's several quests that have you going there (some quest lines more than once) so kill all the incendosaurs you see whenever you're down there.

For the rep: I got 27 for the first one, and 28 for the second. Looks like it goes up by at least one each time, but I can't confirm at this point. I'll let you know - unless someone beats me to it :-)

It seems u need 1175 rep as human (diplomacy) that means 94 scales,47 coals and 188 Iron bars.Im not counting the diplomacy here,it reduce the number of clicks by 1 or 2 times.Total gold spend ~ 50

At lvl 80 The best thing is proly to do all the quests first, since natural-friendly is the most expainsive, also, the most 80's can solo both BRD and MC for the other items, but not all is skinner, herb, or miner, however if you, got one of thise 3 professions, it migth be better to wait with the quests.

I recommend only going for the other two hand-in quests, as mining materials are often much more expensive (for a reason).
