Note: This might be glitched, Invisibill below said that he had to relog to get the quest to show up. Obviously I have no way to test this since I did it already, but maybe that works too? Not sure.

There is absolutely no clarification of what to do or where to go to start this.

You must "manually" go to the Stormwind Embassy (where you recruit allied races) and look for a scroll on a table with ! above it.

You will not get a summons, there is no mailed information, you will not get an auto-accept quest, and the guide linked to this also says nothing about how to start the quest line.

Leaniss below also mentioned that the quest shows up in your Adventure Guide. Good info, but again, who would think look there?

Also, just to make a note, you have to go to the embassy to get the scroll that tells you to meet the person at the embassy... not even joking.

If you did the quest, Rescue From Jaedenar, back in vanilla Arko'narin will recognize you and you get totally different quest text.

For this quest you can also check the adventure guide, jut did tht myself and it showed up in there, rather than going to the embassy for the scroll

IMPORTANT - LOCATION EXPLANATION

When you hear/read "Stormwind Embassy," - they don't mean the building. It means the area. The location to get the first quest is all the way to the very back of the actual Stormwind Embassy area - Location Coordinates - 51,4 - Give a step or two depending on your coordinates addon. She's a double-click quest. Just go with it. We are finally getting our heritage set for Dragonflight!

As noted above, talk with Arko'narin Starshade.

If you look her up, you may find the wrong place for her. She has been in several locations throughout the WOW history.

The only requirements for this Heritage Armor Set are:

Be a Night Elf
Be level 50

That's it.

You are not sent here on a quest. You are not given breadcrumbs to come here. You will only know about it if you've read a Blue Post from Blizzard or Wowhead or listened to any of the number of YouTube Content contributors who have been talking about it. Or by rumor.

We Night Elves don't have a home if you think about it. We have been using Stormwind as our home since the loss of our home, Teldrassil. If we still had Darnassus, we would probably visit it regularly and would have found out about it that way. This is our temporary "Home" until the upcoming storylines that are about to unfold.

Believe me, this is pretty easy compared to the old days, and we would stumble across something, and it would be, "Oh, I did not know this. "

Yachiyo Fuyuki provides a nice YouTube video on the quest. This is part one. It's only 8.5 minutes, but it will get you started.

Came here looking for an information that didnt found, so

Now that i have that info, gonna share it for everyone interested.

Once you got this first quest, you can have the full storyline done in 30 minutes.
And with 415 itlvl gear it will be really easy, as melle.

Since no one else bothered here are the ACTUAL requirements for the quest

Be a night elf.
Be level 50
HAVE A LEVEL 60 CHARACTER ON YOUR ACCOUNT
While its supposed to be disabled you MIGHT need to be exalted with Darnassus i say MIGHT cause some people can pick up the quest without being exalted and some people do need to be exalted.

How do I stop this quest appearing every time I login on another Elf alt? I already finished it and Decline doesn't make it stop offering.

today, the 6th of April, 2024, I logged into a random Night Elf alt, and i got an auto-accept quest for this popped up. I was in Feralas, doing random low level quests for transmog.

Heritage armor:
With The War Within, you can level up as you want, including using a character boost or a race-change and gain the achievement (like Heritage of the Lightforged). Once earned, you can use this transmog on every alt of that race. Some races get more than one set.
Older/main races may complete a quest chain to get their heritage armor (currently level 50+ and possibly additional requirements, depending on their race).

In case it doesn't pop up on log in, try to visit the Embassy to find the quest giver (Stormwind / Orgrimmar). A relog might also be helpful if you've just leveled up.
Some races need a teleporter near the Embassy to turn in their quests. /way Stormwind 54.4 15.4 Embassy SW /way Orgrimmar 40 76 Embassy OG

Man I really miss Darnassus. Back in the day, it was flat out bursting with players.

When I started back in 2004, I literally thought Teldrasil was the extent of the game (yep. 100% Noob!) but when I stumbled across Darnassus, I was blown away!

Noob part 2: I get into Darn, and of course Trade chat pops up and all I saw was "Looking for Tank for BFD" or something along those lines. That said, I thought "Sweet! I am going to get a Tank to drive in this game! Man, fond memories...

So I used the link to see if I completed the quest and I have, but I don't have the armor or the decor item, DO I have to redo it on a different toon? Yes, my main is a night Elf and she is a level 80

In 2026, I picked up the quest from the same questgiver that offers the allied races quest, in Stormwind Embassy. I couldnt find a scroll near a table.

If you're here for decor, and you've done this quest previously but still cannot buy it. Redo this quest line from a night elf character who has not yet finished it
