The altar is on the southeast corner of the caldera, not the northeast corner.

1. Click the altar.
2. Click the orange orbs.
3. When you can't figure out how the heck to assist, look for the glowing ring on the ground. Standing in it will activate a special ability.
4. Click the purple orbs.
5. Use yet another special ability to huck them into the lava.

You don't need to go through the caldera infested with elites to get to the altar, you can fly around it.

Description

Look ahead! The djaradin have cleared away from the northeastern side of the caldera to augment their forces near the elders. There is an altar bordering the lava pool that appears safe for now. We can set up our spell components there. Let us hurry before the djaradin return.
