You must be in disguise to hand in the quest - for obvious reasons. If you're not in disguise, fight your way out of the basement with Kel'Thuzad, go outside, and if you run 10 yards or so from the door you'll be able to re-up the illusion via the action button.

Beware the Floating Occulus inside. There are 3 corridors that he passes, but you can pass by it on (from the entrance when you get in) the wall to the right, between it and the bookshelf, hugging it while controlling where he goes, caring not to be seen.

There's one book at the entrance corridor, 2 in the middle, and the 4th in the back one.
