Go into the Runecarver's Oubliette, talk to him and watch the cut scene, then hand in the quest and receive The Forgotten One. He will then give you Ashes of the Tower.

You have to complete this quest inorder to get memories.
So after you've turned in this quest, you will grant access to all the Legendary Memories for your class from raids/dungeons/world bosses etc!

Oh yeah - like Oh sure! I know where and what an Oubliette is. LOL! So I take the portal to Torghast, quest says to take the Torghast exit which returns me to Ve'Nari's refuge. Help!

There's a bug if you are just starting the quest and in the Torghast entrance. One of the quest objectives will be to "Exit Torghast through the exit door (Optional)" even though you haven't completed the "Break the Chain" objective. So you go through the exit door and are redirected to Torghast, then you are redirected through the exit door, and so on...

Anyways, ignore this objective. Take the portal to Torghast and enter the Runecarver's Oubliette using the door immediately to the right (the door you unlocked earlier in this quest chain). Then, talk to Runecarver to continue with this quest.

your quest might say to exit torghast, thats a bug
go to the runecarver (directly to the right when you enter torghast) then talk to him to finish quest

There are competing questlines here and, as an alt, I've found that having constructed the Crown of Wills, you cannot interact with the Runecarver to complete this quest, because he's now the Primus. Not sure what to do here. If I can't complete this quest, I can't complete the campaign storyline.

When you click on the Runecarver, the dialog option to initiate the cutscene is:
"I've found a way, but we only have one shot at it. Let's get you free!"
