While Neryssa's coordinates were helpful to get the general area, you at first don't know what you're looking for, and the area has multiple levels, and the instructions from Mnemis seem to appear especially when you just changed direction, confusing you further.
Mikanikos has to get close to blue swirls on the ground to start unveiling the offerings. launch edit: you'll also see a spectral chest at the location.

From the questgiver, head outside, over the bridge, then left down the path to a gazebo (59.9, 58.1), the swirl is inside. After looting the offering, head down the path south, you're mostly going down, but once you go up again, turn left, the swirl is at the other end of the hexagon shape on the ground (60.6, 61.8)

Horrible quest. You get text messages from Locus-Keeper Mnemis saying if you are heading in the right direction or if you are close, but they are sometimes wrong and easy to miss on screen. I even left speech bubbles on, but since they are coming remotely from Mnemis instead of anybody on screen, no bubbles pop up. I was getting, "You are heading in the right direction" after I had already passed the first offering. You don't know what you are looking for and it turns out, it isn't somthing interactable so you'll walk right pass the gazebo where it is because nothing responds to a mouse over. Its the small, swirling blue effect on the ground. You have to lead Mikanikos over to it and he interacts with it, THEN it turns into something you can interact with.

Do us all a favor and put in some feedback in when you turn it in. I suggest having Kleia be the one who gives directions, "I feel we are heading in the right direction" instead of Mikanikos saying it remotely. Also, make the blue swirly intractable like years of playing WoW has taught us to look for, then when you click on it Mikanikos runs over and does his thing.

To complete this quest you need to locate two offerings within the Walk of Recollection.
At first you have no exact spot and need to search across the marked area to spot them. There are exact spots.
Ceremonial Offering can be found at 59.89 58.21 coordinates, at small aclove.
To find Carved Kyrian Idol you need to move to 60.58 61.87 coordinates.

After you exit the building

Move forward, cross the bridge
Turn left and follow the path down the hill
There you will find first Ceremonial Offering

If you approach a chest in stealth, there's a big chance the quest won't progress, took me 4 atempts to finish the quest since i had to abandon it three times as a rogue

I present Chasing a Memory part of The Path to Ascension Storyline Quest Chain in Bastion

Quest Name:	Start and description
1. Chasing a Memory	Pick Up quest from Kleia 54 73.5 and go to Mikanikos 55 64.
2. Directions Not Included	You need to find Locus Manual you can pick it up from scrols on ground rate is low. Do this quest together with The Prime's Directive.
3. The Prime's Directive	collect 12 Centurion Core is droping from mobs. return quest to Mikanikos 57 62.
4. The Mnemonic Locus	Use extra skill on 57.1 61.7
5. What's In a Memory?	Speak with Mikanikos kill the mobs and collect 10 Memory of the Forsworn and then press on fragment of Lysonia.
6 Lysonia's Truth	press on 4 Soul Mirror 58 64.5 - 58.9 62.7 - 59.5 59.5 - 57.2 54.5 is like in the cave.
7 I MADE You!	speak with Mikanikos and defeat Locus-Keeper Mnemis.
8 Mnemis, At Your Service	You need to find Ceremonial Offering 59.8 583 and Carved Kyrian Idol 60.6 61.9 they are in case. Then go to Locus-Keeper Mnemis 58.8 65.2.
9 The Vault of the Archon	First click on 2 Vault Guardian they are on left and right then go inside. Inside first go on left and speak with Mikanikos then move back to Kleia to help Her with killing mobs after last wave go inside tunnel on right to speak with Vault-Keeper Mnemis.
10 A Paragon's Reflection	Press on 6 Eye to activate them
11 Leave it to Mnemis	Move back and use Anima Gateway 57.7 67.2

The items are in these very big spectral/ghost chests that you can see from very far away.

If for some reason your little owl buddy isn't doing anything when you're at the chest, run a little ways back up the hill to "reset" him and then come back. He should then say something like "Stop! I sense a ward nearby!" He'll then work on unlocking the chest while you protect him from some adds.

I searched the hey out of that patio area, the main path leads you onto this platform with tables and scrolls and stuff that's right in the middle of your quest target on the minimap ... I checked every little bit of junk around and killed NPCs thinking the 'cache' might drop...

It turns out the cache is NOT on the obvious area, it's along a path to the side that goes down the hill. Who else wasted 5 or more minutes before looking it up here?

Locus-Keeper Mnemis says: Head due south
Locus-Keeper Mnemis says: You are very close to your destination.

The word mnemis is derived from mnemonic, which means "of memory."
The word locus means place; locality.
So, an interpretation of Locus-Keeper Mnemis would be: location-memory-machine.

Like one of the applications of GPS. And its voice sounds the part, too, in tone and enunciation!

Description

Greetings, I am Locus-Keeper Mnemis and I would be delighted to assist you. I recall that you are trying to access a particular memory. Due to the contents, that memory can only be viewed within the Vault of the Archon. In order to gain access to the Vault, you must collect offerings for the two guardians who watch over it. I have hidden these offerings from the Forsworn, as they are not authorized to enter. The Forgelite Prime is the only one among you who can grant authorization. How convenient!
