Try not to die during the encounter with Nyell as you cannot teleport back inside the Workshop when dead. I couldn't find another way in so I had to ress ar the angel and get the sickness :(
Also, during the encounter, kill the mobs first! When their ability to AEO stacks, that it what deals the most damage as there is no safe spot left to run to!

Maybe I'm missing something. You can't kill the mobs first because any mob you attack brings Nyell along with it, plus (usually) another one as well. Tried to kill Nyell and ignore the mob but he's an elite (duh) and with the other ones firing more or less incessantly, kleenex armor doesn't hold up too long. The closest I got was to kite Nyell up the stairs into the next chamber but then all the flying books attack you. Thought I had that figured out - killed them all (quite a project - 2 deaths there alone) and didn't loot.

They respawned anyway, so with Nyell attacking from the front, I had the local library attacking from the rear. My uber Prot could have handled this but he has real armor. In my first three attempts, I ran through about 6 healing potions, five reloads with some expensive dinner, a 156 G repair bill (a new personal best) and best of all - I went back through the portal, forgetting it was swarming with unfriendlies. There were about 127 of them. Tell me again why we're playing this game?

To be fair, this happens rarely and it's just my stubborn approach to things. My friend the Time-Constrained Player would have bailed out two days ago and sent Blizzard another of his "burn before reading" notes.

I completed this with my iLvl 823 Frost Mage and an iLvl 850 Bodyguard Champion (Archmage Modera) basically by accident.

The tactic is to start blatting Nyell until he casts Infuse to activate the first add, then switch targets to the add and Spellsteal the Infuse. This returns the add to dormancy, whereupon return to DPS on Nyell, whom my bodyguard was spamming frostbolts on. After a few seconds Nyell will re-cast Infuse on the same add-on, whereupon switch targets and repeat the steal, etc. etc. This avoids you having to deal with anything other than Nyell for 50% of the fight.

I used one Ancient Rejuvenation Potion, my mana and health did get very low during the fight and it was fairly touch and go at the end. Better players I'm sure will breeze it ( I am strictly casual ).

I was able to complete this by continually interrupting the Nyell and then casting spellsteal the add. As long as you do that, none of the others wills spawn and you can finish him off pretty quickly by switching back and forth between Nyell and the add.

To find Master Artificer Nyell go to the room with a beacon in the middle, turn right and follow the stairs down, run through the room with books and follow the stairs down again.
There you'll see Master Artificer Nyell. When he being attacked, guards will be activated and attack you. Just pop up cd's to kill Nyell in few seconds.

Wait until the guys are all frozen then pull him back to the stairs (make sure you kill the add that pats the stairs first). This way you can avoid agroing the mobs in the room as they unzfreeze.

I was the first times several timee dead. I went to dalaran for repair and came back. I had the luck there was another mage busy with the quest, so together we killed him . You can do this in group with other mages if you like.

The encounter itself is fairly easy, you only need to make sure to Spellsteal the add every time it gets alive. Afterwards just nuke the Master.

Don't be stupid like me. Don't Blink through the arcane fence towards the cats in one corner. There is no way out. I was unable to Blink back through!

Description

From what I've overheard, this is Master Artificer Nyell's workshop. His skills in construct creation are unparalleled! What a shame that he swore fealty to the Legion. I hate to destroy such a renowned craftsman, but we have no choice. If you are lucky, he might even have a spare shield generator sitting around.
