When Deucus starts to work with the book there's Vrykul spirit appears, stuns you and gonna burn Dalaran down, but there's Khadgar runs in, dispels her and tells you to be careful with that old magic books.

There are many alchemy profession quests in Legion, 32 total, check out under the spolier, if missed something. You also need to be at least 800 in Alchemy to learn the final quest reward — Recipe: Spirit Cauldron, all others can be crafted with any skill progress.
