If you are familiar with Isle of Conquest, this is just like taking down the opposing faction's boss. Even the keep has the same layout.

You really only need 1 tank, but you need a lot of dps and plenty of healers so you can get this done in a timely manner. It's a race against the clock because once the opposing faction catches wind of you're trying to do, they will be pouring in and wreaking havoc on your raid.

The best strategy is to get a raid group going and have everyone meet at the graveyard directly outside of the keep. You need to take control of the GY before you start, and if there's a lot of players of the opposite faction running about doing dailies, it's not a bad idea to try and leave a few players to defend it until the boss gets relatively low. If you don't do this, anyone corpse running will be running across the entire zone just to get back.

Boss hits only moderately hard on a tank (have your tank wear their PVE gear, not their PVP gear) and it's very even, no major spikes. Most of your healers will be focused on healing everybody else, because he does AoE damage occasionally to the raid. He will also put a debuff on a random player, that ticks for increasing amounts of dmg unless that player clicks on their special action button (it's called "Get it out!" or something - the idea is that there's a knife in them and they need to pull it out). That is probably how you will lose some of your dps - people not paying attention to that debuff. It will keep increasing in dmg with each tick to the point where you won't be able to heal through it. So remind your DPS! Also remind your ranged people to stack up behind the boss with the melee. If you remain at ranged, he can charge you for extra damage.

If you get opposing players coming to mess with your raid, three things will help you: 1. Get control and keep control of that GY outside so people can run back faster, 2. Pull the boss to one of the sides of the room so that enemy players can't just stand on the stairs below and snipe players. Forcing them to come all the way up the stairs in order to get line of sight will allow your DPS to just turn around and take them out fast. Which brings me to 3. Enemy players need to be taken down ASAP. Have your DPS stay alert to quick turn and burn on players.

We killed the Warlord on US-Khaz Modan (alliance) the first day of 5.1 with a raid of about 30 people (nobody was on the quest, we were just messing around). By the time people get around to getting this quest, the average gear level will be quite a bit higher and you could probably get away with bringing much fewer. The Horde players that came to defend wiped us a few times, along with people not understanding the debuff, but once we figured out to leave a few people outside defending the GY, it went fine. We notified them when the boss was at 25%, to allow extra time for them to fight their way upstairs to us.

The fight was fairly easy, but we had a bit of trouble with finding helping people because very few reached this so quickly so it took us around 10 minutes.

Killed High Marshal (Horde version of this quest) on Jan 8, 2013 with a raid of 15 people. I can confirm that you WILL get credit within a raid. At 15 members, it was an overkill. I am sure 10 can also do it without much problems.

Took 8 people. 1 tank, 1 healer and an assortment of dps. Most of us were LFR/MSV equipped, as you should be at this stage of the legendary questline. Would probably need more healers the more dps you bring. Took us about 5 minutes to kill the boss. Attacking him DOES NOT FLAG YOU, so you can clear the keep (the pvp guards outside won't aggro you as you do so anymore) and spend time eating, respeccing, etc.

Fight is trivialized if the tank keeps his back to a wall and everybody, everybody, everybody stays right behind the boss. This stops him from using his charge move that scatters players all over the place and contributes to the chaos. If you manage this the only dangerous move is Choke 'em out, which is interruptible.

Make sure everyone hits their Extra Action Button (better yet, keybind it) when the fan of knives goes out or you'll bleed to death. Nobody should be low on health if you use this strategy so instantly pulling out the knife isn't going to kill anybody.

Completed this quest last night with only 5 people. Group consisted of a Paladin Tank, Priest Healer, two Mages including my self and an Elemental Shaman. All item levels were above 485. Key to fight is to stack so he does not charge. USE EXTRA ACTION BUTTON. Long fight but not very difficult.

The problem is that you can't queue for this quest. I am a solo player and can't find a group for it. Not a lot of people seem to be on this quest at the same time. So forming a group via trade chat is very difficult. And I am not in a guild that organizes these kind of things as guild runs. I don't want to be stuck at this stage of the legendary quest for an eternity: Blizzard, please make this quest queueable like scenario's or dungeons so I can run it cross server.

This quest is not doable on small servers, due to the boss. I've unsubbed till this is fixed, would love updates
Edit: The reason is you can't do it with less than7-10 people depending on gear and in my case, I can't find more than 3 people to do it. So basically, I can't do it without giving personal information to total strangers

My group did it as 3 men (Me tanking as a blood DK,a druid healer and an arcane mage).

The boss doesn't hit very hard as I was tanking him in PVP gear...It was quite a long fight though(around 25 minutes)

Just to inform some people. I am Brazilian and i play on Goldrinn server, for those on it too, you can't crossrealm this quest with other servers. Tryed it 2 times, and both times i didn't see the other players. Looking further on internet to know about it, I got that information. After opening a ticket, got the answer that if i had that kind of problem, i should only try it with people of my server only. I think that i pay them just to sit and give answers all the time that doesn't help, instead of fixing it to help everyone. So, if you are not from an Oceanic or Brazilian server, you can do it by crossing realms, otherwise, you are just like me, screwed by the sistem.

If you are having trouble getting a group for this, I can sympathize. Despite having an active guild, I still struggled to get a group. I tried to PUG in trade, but that went no where. The best way I've found to complete this is by signing up for a cross-realm raid through www.OpenRaid.org

I've personally led groups of 20-35 people twice a week for the past three weeks. With a group that size, it takes less than 3 minutes to kill him. Easy peasy.

I was worried this would take a long time to get a group for, but I ended up just hijacking a Galleon group after we finished Galleon. I asked if anyone wanted to do the quest before we pulled, and told people interested to just stay in the group. Ended up with about 11 people, and easily did the quest.

I believe this quest was a poor idea on Blizzard's part. Sure, it's fine for the people who were on or near the right stage when 5.2 dropped. But what about people who hit 90 a bit later? They're going to hit a wall on this quest, because there will be far fewer people on the same stage. (the other Black Prince quests either can be done solo, or involve doing activities that people NOT on that particular stage of the quest would be doing anyway, ie LFR or BGs)

The idea of making a RAID quest with no value other than to finish the quest? Nobody not on the quest would have any incentive to join in. Very difficult, especially on small servers.

I soloed this as a 515 blood death knight with Conversion and Purgatory. I'd tried with Death Pact a few times, but my Death Strikes and Death Pact every 2 minutes simply couldn't outheal his damage. I beat him on the first attempt that I had Conversion.

Despite how it sounds, it was actually difficult and Purgatory procced a few times. I tried to keep myself capped on HP and runic power as much as possible by disabling Conversion when I was full HP and enabling it when I dropped below 90%. I avoided using rune strike since 30 runic power is equivalent to 18% HP via Conversion. My health spiked down when he used his big attacks. Near the end, there was a time when I was in Purgatory, had no runic power left, my Empower Rune Weapon and Icebound Fortitude were both on cooldown, and my bloodworm's blood burst saved me luckily.

This would have been much easier if I had the blood DK tier 15 2-piece bonus for 10 seconds off the Rune Tap cooldown, which I didn't have.

"You will need a group."? PFFT!

Edit: Note that this was before patch 5.3, which nerfed his damage significantly and his health to about 10% of what it was originally.

As of patch 5.3, this boss was nerfed to 11.8 million HP. They also severely nerfed how hard he hits. This should now be easily soloable by many classes.

I could not find the bases after performing a faction change, even though i finished the quest chain (before faction changing).

After the faction change I had to visit The Jade Forest starting area to cancel a buff called Taradormi's Second Chance by speaking to Taradormi. After this I was able to spot the horde base.

It took me a little while to figure this out so I thought I'd help others out with the same problem.

Soloable on a 520 Destro Lock. Used voidwalker plus all the normal soloing talents/glyphs (Soul Link being the big one). Just use an ember for healing when you need it.

Soloed as an ilvl 508 Discipline Priest on my second try (wanted some challenge and didn't bother to ask for help).

With no interrupts, no cc (fear and tendrils didn't work) and no pet to take aggro from you (tried to fade once after popping my shadowfiend, poor guy lasted 2 seconds), this becomes a survival race. No need to say that you'll have to do a lot of kiting.

I had the following glyphs :
- Glyph of Penance (do I need to explain why ?)
- Glyph of Weakened Soul : the weakened soul debuff will be your worst enemy in this fight, followed by your mana bar. Those 2 seconds might make the difference between a PWS and a corpse.
- Glyph of Prayer of Mending : since only one charge will be used, you might as well increase its efficiency.

Talents :
- Lvl 15 : won't matter in this fight
- Lvl 30 : Body And Soul : you will shield a lot, you will run a lot, so why not kill 2 birds in one stone ?
- Lvl 45 : all are useful in a way. I had 'From Darkness Come Light' but i didn't have room to smite a lot, so I didn't have much procs (but when you have one you're golden)
- Lvl 60 : Desperate Prayer : nice 'oh sh*t button' when you're low and everything is on cooldown.
- Lvl 75 : Divine Insight : being able to cast more PWS is really a lifesaver, especially since it's procced by Penance that you will use almost on every CD.
- Lvl 90 : Divine Star : lvl 90 talents are not much useful in this fight, but it's probably the less useless (low cd, low mana cost, will heal you twice).

About the fight itself :
- Run out of melee range as much as you can
- Holy Fire/Power word Solace always on cooldown
- Prayer of Mending always on cooldown
- Penance on cooldown (on high health use it on the mob, on low health use it on yourself), except if you see him casting his big attack (then keep it to heal the damage done)
- Be careful when using 'Shadow-Word pain' as it will cost quite some mana in the long run
- Don't hesitate to toss a renew from time to time, every bit of healing helps
- Smite when the mob is far enough
- Sometimes you will have a debuff and a button will appear on the screen, click on the button ASAP to remove the debuff (make sure that you have enough health or are shielded).
- Use your cooldowns (Pain Suppression, Archangel, Desperate prayer, ...) wisely.
- Have a mana potion ready :)

After 10 minutes (as I said, it's not a DPS race), the big bad orc warrior was downed by the cute female gnome with pink pigtails. ^^

I soloed it on a crap LFR geared destruction warlock (498).

I had my soul linked observer tank and interrupt the boss. I only had to interrupt him twice. I spammed demonic gateway on cooldown so my observer kept threat the whole time. I used the embertap glyph for a little extra healing and that was more than enough to keep me topped off for most of the fight. In the end I had 11k hps on recount which does not count soul leech.

Very easy for locks of any ilvl now with a little patience.

For those who are not "leet enuff" to solo Warlord Bloodhilt, there are a few add-ons that make getting into cross realm premades groups much easier. The one I use is called oQueue. Though mostly used pvp, this add-on has the option to "search for" or "create" a cross realm quest groups. There are other add-ons that do the same thing just check your favorite add-on site. You won't need and more than five members tops, he goes down easier than most dungeon bosses.

I couldn't solo this as a 499 Fury warrior as his Bloodthirsty strike was just too much for me. Asked in General chat if anyone needed to do the quest and immediately two nice souls offered to lend me a hand with it even though they didn't need it. Easily downed him with a Disc priest and warlock.
It doesn't hurt to ask for help!

Not Fury Warrior-soloable, but he is Protection Warrior-soloable. 498-level gear, died trying to solo him with my usual talent spec, so I switched from to Second Wind and that was the key. He got me down to below 35% health, but the passive healing that kicked in around there kept me alive for the 8 minutes it took to whittle him down.

Saved rage mostly for Shield Block and , the latter of which I tried to have a full 60-rage charge for when he went for Bloodthirsty Strike. Remember to use Demoralizing Shout, , Thunder Clap (the latter of which causes the debuff), anything to reduce his damage output to a smooth and low level so that your Second Wind can keep you up and so that he won't take you out after taking you low.

When Execute lights up, don't get overexcited and begin dumping all your rage into that. Focus on staying alive and you'll take him down eventually. There's no low-health enrage to worry about.

Easy to solo. Did it as destro warlock itemlvl 500. Remember to stand close to him, and as a warlock start to summon voidwalker before it dies if flames of xoroth is on cd

Patch 5.4, soloed him on my warrior. He is arms, but for this quest I switched to tank. Item level 484. Tried him before few times when item level was 477, but wiped without any real chances. Second Wind talent is a must. I'm not exactly sure about difference in stats I had compared when I was 477, but there was a feeling that rage generation was more steady this time. Which means I was always able to absorb a lot with when he started casting his abilities. Of course, used cooldowns every time when was low on health so it was possible to generate enough health with Second Wind. Everything else then was just a question of time, rinse and repeat.

Just killed him with 2 people. Very helpful mage (ilvl 540 or so). As a lock I focused on healing my void, while he nuked him down. Had to use Flames of Xoroth once. So ye it can be done if you have a pet and an insanely high dps friend.

Just finished solo killing Bloodhilt as a Holy paladin, in ilvl 509 gear.

The boss has been nerfed to the point the hits from a Warscout are harder and deadlier (highest hit from Bloodhilt on my toon was around 185k). Heroic Scenario bosses are w-a-y harder with meaner blows.

Absolutely nothing special was used but the basic offensive Holy paladin spells - Holy Shock/Crusader Strike/Denounce and I used Light's Hammer so to be free to spam Denounce.

Internal Bleeding was doing roughly 55k tick damage and with Eternal Flame and Illuminated Healing, the bleeding was enough to notice but not instagib level.

Recount stats:

Warlord Bloodhilt 02:58:27-03:10:28

Damage Done: 18,545,217 (26,029)

Melee: 295 - 13,739,200
Bloodthirsty Strike: 21 - 3,272,533
Coup de Grace: 21 - 1,213,502
Bloody Knive: 9 - 319,982

Eternal Flame did almost all the healing (15m worth), with 14 FoL after the Bloodthirsty Strike hit (Divine Light would be too slow to cast). Holy Shocked and Crusader Striked for Holy Power so had 5 stacks ready for the Bloodthirsty Strike (which takes from 50 to 70% of 428k health).

So a 5.3 LFR geared Holy paladin can solo Bloodhilt now and there's the proof.

If you opt for help for this quest do they have to be on the same quest and or "phase" in order to help. I was almost able to solo, but kept dying when he gets to about 10% and guildie was going to help but said I was phased.

Solo'd as a destro lock, just Silence his call with your observer and keep your embers to heal yourself (and healstone if you need). Kite him when he's spining and dodge the bullets.
80k dps and 20k hps overall

Super, super easy for a Demo lock. Have your blueberry tank him, stand right next to the two of them like we're all having a picnic. As soon as the fight starts, pop a Terrorguard pet and heal your blueberry as you DPS him down. Just keep DPS'ing and healing and he'll be down and done real quick.

Did this yesterday as an Affliction lock, ilvl 509. Used Voidlord, and healed him when I could. I'm also an herbalist, so I used both herbalism cd's during the fight. I had to resummon the Voidlord about 3 or 4 times.

Just solo'd 10/9/13 patch 5.4 by a holy paladin (took a while) He does Bloodthirsty Strike, followed by Coup de Grace, occasionally does a fan of knives (Hit your special action button) I doubt too many classes can solo this unless you've got a pet/tank spec/lots of healing.

I just soloed this as a 535 blood death knight. I dropped a bit low a few times because of the adds that spawned. It took me about 3-4 minutes to kill him.

I managed to solo kill him on my ilvl 528 survival hunter (fully gemmed and enchanted), here is what I did:

Make sure to use Mend Pet right before the fight, and keep it up during the fight, this is very important!
When your pet dies, use Deterrence, and ress your pet, after the ress immediatly Mend Pet again!
Stand in melee range, if you don't and he goes for you, you will die.
Use the extra action button when it shows up

I used a Tenacity (tank) Turtle. Turtles are great because of their shield ability.
I used Glyph of Revive Pet, Glyph of Deterrence and Glyph of Animal Bond.
I used Aspect off the Iron Hawk, but in hindsight, I think Exhilaration could be very good for this.
I only used 300 stats food, but use flasks and pots to make it easier.

It took me two tries, in the second try I forgot to Mend Pet right away after my pet died the first time, so it quickly died again, but then I did keep Mend Pet up until I managed killed it.

An Arms Warrior and I did it. Warrior pulled 188k dps and I pulled 110k

Main is a hordie, and when I did it over there the first time was pre nerff. Just solo'd with a warrior, ms is arms, and got face rolled even with 520ish gear. switched to prot, mostly dps gear with a 450 shield and a 528 1h, and easily solo'd it. For warriors, use second wind, other classes use a appropriate self heal/damage mitigation. The big hit followed by the coupe de grace you can mitigate with any absorption effect ie: shield barrier. Cheers.

You don't have to be in a group to team up on this. When I got to Bloodhilt there were two other players already taking him down. He was at 60% health. I jumped in and helped to kill him and got credit for the quest. If you are solo, just hang out nearby and it shouldn't be long before others will come to do this quest.

Soloed as 467 Prot Warrior.
Health dipped low fairly quick but Second Wind kept me up. The key is to cycle your cooldowns for his Bloodstrike(?). I usually ended up having a Shield Barrier for it, but otherwise placed Demo Banner/Shout, Shield Wall or Last Stand for it. It mitigated a fair bit, but I did eat a whole one for about 150k.
Don't forget to hit your extra action button when it appears! I forgot to and saw my hp dip down to about 5k before hitting Last Stand.
All in all, quite easy but at the same time can easily go wrong.

Managed to solo him after a few tries on my ilvl 515 Windwalker Monk. Gemmed and enchanted, flasked and food buffed. Ensure that you have the Chi Wave and Dampen Harm talents, and make sure your Blackout Kick isn't glyphed to provide the DoT when attacking from the front.

What you'll want to do is use the mobs in his building to build a full 20 stacks of Tigereye Brew before you actually engage him. It also helps to strategically place 3 healing orbs around him before pulling in positions that you can move to grab them as you need them. On pull, pop your DPS cooldowns including 10 stacks of Tigereye Brew in addition to your Fortifying Brew. As soon as those first 10 stacks of Tigereye wear off, use your next 10. Use Chi Wave and Expel Harm as you normally would in your DPS rotation, these in addition to front facing Blackout Kicks will keep your health in a safe place through his regular melee attacks.

As soon as you see him beginning to cast Bloodthirsty Strike, pop Touch of Karma. It will absorb the entirety of that attack, plus most if not of the Coup de Grace that follows immediately after. Continue attacking as normal after this, keeping your health up with your Chi Waves, Expel Harms, and Blackout Kicks. When he uses Bloody Knives, cast Dampen Harm before pulling the knife out to lessen the damage that removing it does. At this point, he should be nearly dead. If he manages to pull off another Bloodthirsty Strike/Coup de Grace combo with your Touch of Karma off cooldown, it's going to hurt.

It was very close, and I did 180k DPS to him on the successful solo. He actually did manage to get off a second Bloodthirsty Strike/Coup de Grace combo at low health, which Chi Wave and Expel Harm pulled me from the brink of just enough to finish him off.

It's a tough solo at a gear level that low, but completely doable. Good luck!

This is EASILY soloable if you are a blood elf. Pop your Arcane Torrent ability when he casts 'Sound the Alarm', and nukefest begins. Done on a 520 rogue and a 530 lock.

Easy soloed as lv 530 prot pally.SoI and eternal flame,usual tanking,never used another heal.Probably faster as retribution.however,he hits for about 5.5M during fight so any class that want to solo it must be able to outheal this/have a pet.I assume mages and maybe rogues might have some problems with that

Tried this will a ilvl522 Shadow Priest; it's unsoloable, due to the fact that the enemy hits like a truck and is immune to cc. I am able to pull it off with the help of a Druid healer (if you're reading this, Cinera-Stormrage, I am very thankful for your assistance) by:

a. me dps-ing the boss, and
b. desperately healing the healer when the boss got her in his grips

I did this as an ilevel 530 MM hunter and it was far easier than I expected. It's clearly nowhere near as hard as it used to be. I was going to try it once and get help from a guildie if I failed but I one shotted it.

I used some 300 buff food to start with (Sea mist rice noodles) and also had the buff from Crystal of Insanity.

I got to the top of the stairs so I would be close enough to put on hunters mark without agro. Used a turtle pet which is my standard tanking pet. Misdirected on pet, and sent him in while I dropped explosive trap at the warlord's feet. Followed the pet in after seeing posts on here advising that not being close during the fight is deadly.

Rest of the fight was basically straight up dps standing close to the boss while refreshing mend pet. Didn't have to do anything else. I used cooldowns like stampede but they basically made the fight shorter. Still could have done it fine without them.

after patch 6.02 WOD prepatch, you are not soloing this quest boss.he has 552k hp, he hits insanely harder and HP is hard to dent

i (frost DK 546) went in with another blood DK (542) and got wiped with ease, we added a ele-sham (550). in that fight i had to battle rez DK, then DK had to battle rez shaman and we finally killed him with me dying near end, DK at 50% and shaman at 50%+

As of 6.0.3 he is easily soloable. Just did it as an ele shaman with 518 ilvl.

Soloable as a holy priest in 6.0.3 ilvl 529 so not too high, holy keeps you healed up throughout the fight.

I get him down to about 50% and he does this strangle thing to me and kills me from full health, how do you avoid that?

Description

There's an orc general I've been keeping a close eye on. Warlord Bloodhilt curried a lot of favor with Garrosh Hellscream by beating back an Alliance advance in Southern Barrens. He's now entrenched within the fortress at Domination Point.

I doubt the Alliance can take him out. But... you've proven me wrong before.

If you wish to finish him off, bring friends. Lots of friends.
