I wound up getting where the Thousand Year Guardian stands at the top of the falls, item was a bit finicky but it worked as long as I was right under the flow of water.

The 1000-Year Water flows all the way to Halfhill to Nana's home.
It remains a mystery why you have to collect it right where the guardian stands.

Just a note, you don't have to kill the guardian for the quest, just use the pitcher where hes at. Bind, fear, all that good stuff works.

Don't die here if you can help it...there is no way to return to your corpse at this time so it will be an expensive trip to the Spirit Healer.

You can get the water at 56,21 right under the statues head that is pouring out water. Make sure you are standing directly under the stream of water and not just in the pool.

There's a moss-covered rock where the falls split in front of the guardian. I was able to get the water from that spot without aggroing the guardian.

the big rock between the waterfall is where the item can be used without agro, i submited a screen where it is

Just a little more clarity...the moss covered rock is directly in front of the falls. The water splits to either side. The rock is moss covered on about the last 1/3 of the rock towards the main water fall. I stood at the point where the moss begins and completed the quest without aggroing the guardian.

Be ready to fly and if he moves, get out!

Has anybody figured out how to complete this quest (without help from somebody with a 2-person flying mount) if you are doing it on a lower level toon that has not access to flying?

Edit: I just figured out how. It is doable by using two packs of Goblin Glider Kit. The first pack of Goblin Glider Kit is to be used from the highest point you can find just outside the entrance to Terracy of Endless Spring, located close to Tawern in the Mists, /way 48.71, 60.27. From there, you can reach a mountain/cliff plateau on the rim of Valley of the Fourth Winds, /way 69.00, 18.00. Then you must wait for the second Goblin Glider Kit to be ready. The second Goblin Glider Kit can bring you to the quest location.

How to get to Skyrange (or any area where flight seems to be required) without flight

Now that the Skyrange quests are only level 15 you might be wondering how to get your lowbie up there:

Get your toon somewhat near your goal location and near a quick death (from mobs or a fall).
Queue for both dungeons AND battlegrounds.
Let your toon die.
Fly your ghost toward Skyrange.
If a queue pops before you get there, let it hang until it expires.
Once you've reached your goal location, accept a queue pop.
Either play out your dungeon/BG or just quit it (gives you debuff and maybe irks others though).
Either way, you'll materialize alive and right where you wanted to be.

Description

You caught me at a good time, <name>. I was just hankering to make a fresh batch of Witchberry Julep.

Have you ever heard of this wondrous brew?

Each sip takes ten years off your face! How do you think I still look so good?

Anyway, I need a special ingredient - thousand-year water - which can be collected from the mouth of the waterfall to the north.

I'm afraid the journey is too treacherous for an old matron like me, but if you can get your hands on a pitcher, I'll let you share my brew.
