Anyone know what the quickest way is to obtain the rep? Just out of curiosity. Other than the obvious killing mobs that it tells you. Quests? Tabard? Etc.

Each of the mobs in either of zones appear to only grant you 11 reputation per kill (non human).

With a Human's 10% reputation bonus, they would receive 12 reputation per kill (I believe).

Assuming friendly with The Black Prince - you don't start off friendly, your a bit away from it being still neutral. It only took about 10 kills or so for me to get to Friendly - it would take 546 kills to reach Honored. This is under the assumption that killing mobs which reward you 11 reputation per kill is the only method to gain favor with The Black Prince until Honored.

Humans would only need to kill 500 mobs.

This information considering Mr. Popularity (Rank 2) Guild Perk for increased reputation gained from kill monsters by 10%.

Edit: It only took a little bit under half an hour to get 1000 rep by grinding mobs in Vale of Eternal Blossoms. I found that place to be much less chaotic and easier to control mobs than the other two zones. The Ruins of Guo-Lai is a perfect place to grind them. Just go around the ruins, they usually respawn by the time you finish clearing the area.

A quick note to those that are about to attempt to do this treacherous grind...

DO NOT DO IT ALONE , trust me. I started off doing it alone and honestly I wanted to cry and cut off someone's head.

Get other people that are doing the same rep as you and group together and pull large groups in order to mass get rep. As a rogue this allowed me to get it within 2 hours of starting the grind whereas it would have taken me around 7-8 without a group.

The Shao-Tien Behemoth on the Golden Stair gives me 44 rep. So I killed the Mogu in that area and waited for others to start attacking the Behemoth so killing him went quicker. Got about 1200 rep in 30 mins.

Breath of the Black Prince Quest Guide!

Stage 1: Introduction

Seek out Brewmaster Tsu(A), Seer Yong(A), Kurong Caskhead(H), Cook Tsu(H), Defender Azzo(N), Teng Firebrew(N), or (N) to begin your journey.

Upon speaking to one of the NPC's above, you will receive Mysterious Note and the quest to deliver it to Wrathion who can be found at the tavern in The Veiled Stair.
Wrathion will provide you with A Legend in the Making, and invite you to share a drink with him. Speak with Wrathion, who will then enter a short cinematic explaining the importance of your assistance.
When the cinematic has ended, you will be given two quests which you will need to complete to continue.

Stage 2: First Steps

Trial of the Black Prince
This quest requires you to obtain honored reputation with The Black Prince. A new faction will appear in your reputation tab, and reputation can be earned by killing Mogu/Matid enemies in the Vale, Townlong, or the Dread Wastes.
Base Reputation Gain (Non-human, w/o Mr. Popularity, or Standard of Unity):
-Normal mobs = 10-12 rep
-Elites = 15-30 rep
-Weak Mobs = 1-3 rep
-Rare Elites = 40-45 rep

Note: If you do not wish to sit and farm reputation, it can easily be obtained while killing enemies for your Golden Lotus and Klaaxi dailies.
Rogues ONLY Note: If you have completed Patricide, you do not have to do this quest.

The Strength of One's Foes
This quest will take significantly more time and dedication. To complete this quest you must first obtain:
-10x Sigil of Power
-10x Sigil of Wisdom
These sigils will drop from bosses located in Mogu'shan Vaults, the Heart of Fear, and Terrace of Endless Spring raids.

Note: As of the time of writing, these sigils do in fact drop in LFR and currently do not drop more than one per boss.

Stage 3: Yes, This Will Do Nicely!
After completing both The Strength of One's Foes and Trial of the Black Prince, you will receive the quest Fear Itself from Wrathion.

Stage 4: Wrathion's War
More information will be added later as I continue to update this guide. Chapter 2 of the questline will be released in 5.1 so stay tuned for more information!

Note: Breath of the Black Prince appears to be the item responsible for turning an item into a legendary. It is unknown when this will become available, but I imagine it won't be until Chapter IV.

Must be noted that as of live (currently 10/1/2012), you NEED this quest in your log in order to gain reputation with the Black Prince. Kinda silly, but eh. Black Prince does what he wants.

I tested this while exploring and in the Stepes Zone to the west there are 2 islands one full of mantids and the other full of mogu,these moobs give the same rep and here you can find several elites at 1mil hp that give 30 rep.The best moobs I found were mogu Illusionists that summon 4 clones with 59k hp that each give 11rep,with 33 rep from the elite you get 77 rep per kill and the moobs are very easy,at least for my feral guardian.

Quick guide as to how to gain this rep asap:

In the Dread wastes there is a island in the southern half of the zone that appears to be for nothing while questing there. This happen to be one of the best farming zones for this rep.

Make sure you have the following buffs:
Angel of Death from Kil'ruk the Wind-Reaver
Battle Hymn from Skeer the Bloodseeker
Next head out to the island and take a look at where they are most grouped up at, round up as much as you can handle without dying and start to aoe. As long as you have more then 2 mobs Angel of Death will kick in and do an additional 240k over 8 seconds nearly killing them. After you have killed at least one of them every aoe strike will heal you for 1% of your hp.
Using this method you should be able to get to honored in about 1 and 1/2 hours give or take a few factors like rep increases or pvp ganking.

If you're in the farming mood and just completed Sonic Disruption you keep the Sonic Disruption Fork. WIth it, you can easily take down dread kuchongs in like 5 seconds, and they are worth 17 rep towards the Black Prince. Rounding up mobs with 1-3 dread kunchongs as a plate class and tearing thru them will get you the 6k rep for the Black Prince quest in no time.

I found a great place to farm reputation. In Townlong Steppes, above Niuzao Temple, there are Mantids. There are also mobs there that are Injured Sra'thik Soldier. Quite a few ones in some areas. You get reputation from those aswell.

The best place i have found to farm rep to honored is in Townlong Steppes at Niuzao Temple. What you do is wait for the Black Yak to come semi close, then quickly tag all nearby mobs with some aoe and run them right into the center of the path that the Black Yak takes around the temple. He will come running by and one shot all mobs and you get instant rep!
According to my monitor it estimated I was getting 8900 rep/hour.

Took me 4 hours
Got about 25 Dream Amber Shards
2k worth in cloth, boe's and mining along the way

Its worth the time, especially since it also helps you in getting a legendary

Oh and about 400 pieces of Skewered Peanut Chicken

For fast rep farm go to the Townlong Steppes and then to the Shan'ze Dao Island. There you will find Shan'ze Illusionist. It's 30 rep per kill, but they also summon 4 adds (10 rep per one), you can kill adds or just wait for their despawn, you will get reputation anyway. As resto shammy I pulled 4 Illusionist and just healed myself, adds was spawning and despawning and giving me my reputation. Took me about 10mins to get 4k rep that I was needed.

Only thing is there absolutely no need to farm the rep, you get plenty while doing your regular dailies.
It has no use completing the rep part cause you need the other quest also done before you can get next and by the time you got your 20sigils from the raids your honored from your kills during dailies.

I just got honored reputation and as a Protection warrior i´ve got some tips.

First off
1. Go to Niuzao Temple ( Townlong steppes ).
2. Pull as many insects as you can handle, for x amount of time.
3. Line up the mobs you´ve gathered on one of the two stairs in the battlefield so that it lines up the path of the giant ox ( hard to miss him ).
4. Let the ox do the work :) ( it will oneshot everything in its path ).
5. You could also go to the sides and pull those mobs aswell for an even faster grind.

I went from friendly to honored in about 45 minutes, all thanks to this spot.

I don't know if it's a bug (pun intended), but the mantid killed with explosive barrels on The Enemy of My Enemy... Is Still My Enemy! do give reputation for this quest.

This makes it an excellent way to farm Black Prince reputation:

Grab 10 explosive barrels from the yaungol camp.
Kill mantid at the battlefield by dropping the barrels on them (while mounted), until you get 100 kills needed for the quest.
Since you won't be able to pick up the barrels again after killing 100 enemies, abandon the quest and pick it up again.
Rinse and repeat.

As of 5.1, killing mogu for reputation with the black prince seems obsolete. This is due to the fact that the new faction adds, (with 393k hp) give about double the rep that a mogu does.

The new faction adds, (with 393k hp), found in southern Krasarang Wilds give about 20 reputation per kill.

As of 5.1 it is much quicker to kill the opposite faction NPCs in Krasarang wilds as it rewards double the amount of rep as killing the regular Mogu or Mantid.

Ok, i hope i am not the only one having this problem. I just hit 90 i did the first part where you talk to the guy for the drink and what not but after that im lost. I went to the Vale, at the shrine place i did all the quests there, but there are no dailys anywhere on the map, and i cant find any of the mobs to simply grind anywhere...am i missing something?

I am 11410 honored with the black prince but how do i get to exalted. This is the only rep i need to be maxed out with pandaria.

I went from friendly to exalted with Black Prince in 80 minutes by one shotting animated stone warriors on island of thunder where the pandas are killing them. Just get one shot off on each one and you get rep.

I just found out that if you kill Silver covenant rangers you get about 28 rep ea including the rep from guild, very good for farming rep with the black prince.

Best place for rep is Island of thunder and go where the pandaria guys are fighting the statues that come to life and fight them..Gained friendly to revered in 45 minutes just fighting there

How to get 15.000 Reputation per Hour

Go to the Isle of Thunder - more specific the zone of the Zandalari Bloodguard(click name to see map)
set your Battle Standard of Coordination somewhere centrel for more Rep
Pull huge groups of mobs with lots of Zandalari Bloodguard - They make Ragezone you do 50% more damage and get 50% more per Zone (made 700k noncrit hits as a warrior tank and sometimes had to use cd's to survive)
Don't die and kill the mobs - if you cant solo them make a group the Reputation dosen't split (solo possible as tank)

Reputation per mob: 25rep | 27.5 with Mr. Popularity | 30.25 with Battle Standard of Coordination

I also managed to make 1300G/Hour there without Greater Potion of Luck and you may get more if you sell some nice looking pieces because some of the pieces that don't drop in the revamped ZG/ZA drop there.

Here is a breakdown of all steps with short instructions and timing. As of 5.4 this should take anywhere between 8 and 15 weeks to complete.

Chapter I: Trial of the Black Prince (1-2 Weeks)
The timing assumes you wait until you're on The Strength of Ones Foes quest before entering any raids, and do every raid available.

Alliance:Speak to Brewmaster Tsu or Seer Yong to recieve Mysterious Note, which starts Stranger in a Strange Land. Go see Wrathion in the Tavern in the Mists.

Horde:Speak to Kurong Caskhead or Cook Tsu to recieve Mysterious Note, which starts Stranger in a Strange Land. Go see Wrathion in the Tavern in the Mists.

Trial of the Black Prince - obtain Honoured reputation with The Black Prince, requires a couple of hours of grinding, depending on your spec and gear it can be faster. Most level 90 humanoid mobs and rares provide reputation with The Black Prince. Best place to grind rep is probably Isle of Thunder.

The Strength of One's Foes - collect 10xSigil of Power and 10xSigil of Wisdom. They drop in all Pandaria raids on any difficulty. This includes: Mogu'Shan Vaults, Heart of Fear, Terrace of Endless Spring, Throne of Thunder and Siege of Orgrimmar. Should be able to obtain within 1-2 weeks, depending on you luck. Leave Terrace for last, in case you get enough drops in other raids, so that you can complete the next step without having to do it twice.

Fear Itself - get a drop from Sha of Fear, the final boss in Terrace of Endless Spring. If you already cleared Terrace during the lockout, you can still come back on LFR and kill Sha of Fear again to get the drop.

Breath of the Black Prince - speak to Wrathion and get your first (now pretty useless) reward - a legendary weapon gem with +500 to your primary stat. Can only be used in Sha-Touched weapons from Heart of Fear and Terrace of the Endless Spring raids.

Chapter II: Wrathion's War (3 Weeks)
The timing assumes you do not obtain any Valor Points in the first week until you're on A Test of Valor quest.

Alliance:Meet the Scout/Horde:Meet the Scout - fly over to Krasarang Wilds to talk to an NPC

Alliance:A King Among Men/Horde:The Might of the Warchief - complete a simple kill quest in Krasarang Wilds

Alliance:Lion's Landing/Horde:Domination Point - unlocks a quest hub in Krasarang Wilds

Incoming... - speak to Wrathion

A Test of Valor - get 3,000 valor points. Any valor gained prior to picking up this quest does not count. Takes 3 weeks if you haven't got any valor yet the week you get this quest.

The Measure of a Leader - speak to Wrathion

The Prince's Pursuit - obtain Revered reputation with The Black Prince, requires a couple of hours of grinding, depending on your spec and gear it can be faster. Most level 90 humanoid mobs and rares provide reputation with The Black Prince. Best place to grind rep is probably Isle of Thunder.

Alliance:The Lion Roars/Horde:Glory to the Horde - win one PVP match in both Temple of Kotmogu and the Silvershard Mines.

Alliance:A Change of Command/Horde:A Change of Command - kill an NPC in Krasarang Wilds, can be done with a group of 2-3 players.

Alliance:Call of the Packmaster/Horde:The Soul of the Horde - speak to Wrathion and get your second reward - an extra socket for any weapon. Still pretty useful, but nothing ground-breaking.

Chapter III: Two Princes (6-12 weeks)
Timing assumes a weekly clear of Throne of Thunder and Siege of Orgrimmar bosses that drop relevant quest items.

The Thunder King - speak to Wrathion

Meet Me Upstairs - speak to Wrathion again

Secrets of the First Empire - collect 20xSecrets of the Empire and 40xTrillium Bar. Secrets of the Empire drop off any boss in Throne of Thunder, as well as the first 8 bosses of Siege of Orgrimmar. The raids can be done on any difficulty. My experience on 3 characters, as well as talking to guildies leads me to believe you can expect anywhere between 2-6 Secrets of the Empire per week, assuming a full clear.

I Need a Champion - obtain Exalted reputation with The Black Prince, requires a few of hours of grinding, depending on your spec and gear it can be faster. Most level 90 humanoid mobs and rares provide reputation with The Black Prince. Best place to grind rep is probably Isle of Thunder.

The Thunder Forge - complete a single player scenario

Spirit of the Storm Lord - use a quest item on Nalak, a world boss on the Isle of Thunder, and stay alive for 10-15 seconds while it channels and charges up. Best done in a raid group.

The Crown of Heaven - speak to Wrathion and collect your third reward, a very powerful legendary gem that goes in the meta slot of your head item. You can get extra ones for the price of 5xPrimal Diamond.

Echoes of the Titans - collect 12xTitan Runestone. These drop off the last 6 bosses of Throne of Thunder and the first 8 bosses of Siege of Ogrimmar. My experience on 3 characters, as well as talking to guildies leads me to believe you can expect anywhere between 2-3 Titan Runestone per week, assuming you kill all bosses. Lei Shen and Sha of Pride are guaranteed to drop a Titan Runestone every week.

Heart of the Thunder King - get a drop from Lei Shen, the final boss in Throne of Thunder. If you already cleared Throne of Thunder during the lockout, you can still come back on LFR and kill Lei Shen again to get the drop.

Chapter IV: Celestial Blessings (less than 1 hour)
A Reckoning - speak to Wrathion

Celestial Blessings - fly around Pandaria and visit the various temples and speak with Celestials. This will take you to Kun'Lai Summit, Townlong Steppes, Jade Forest and Krasarang Wilds. In addition to speaking to the Celestials, you will have to fight Wrathion at one of the temples and complete a role-specific challenge.

Cloak of Virtue - Speak to Wrathion to get your next reward, an epic item level 600 cloak. Do not waste your valor upgrading this cloak, as you will be getting your legendary soon which already comes upgraded to item level 608.

Chapter IV: Celestial Blessings (1-2 hours)
Timing here assumes getting as far as the cloak, does not include the Garrosh Hellscream kill.

A Timeless Discovery - Speak to Wrathion

Secrets of the Timeless Isle - Collect 5,000 timeless coins. You get coins for almost anything you do on the Timless Isle - killing mobs, looting chests, completing quests and even skinning, herbing and mining. You get a lot of coins from doing the introductory quests on the Isle, and I recommend looking for chests and rares for quick coins.

The Emperor's Way - You have to defeat the four Celestials on the Timless Isle. They are all always available to be killed, but only one can be engaged in combat at a time. This is best completed with a full raid.

A Pandaren Legend - Speak to Wrathion and get your legendary cloak. The cloak comes upgraded to item level 608.

Judgment of the Black Prince - Kill Garrosh Hellscream, the last boss in Seige of Orgrimmar.

I found that the best place to farm rep at this stage of the questline is just northwest of Klaxxi'vess. There are quite a few mobs there which are relatively easy to kill, have a fast respawn rate, and give 10-11 XP each. I did this on my hunter at iLevel 396 and the only thing I had to watch out for were the Bladesworn who sometimes pull you toward them.

I farmed for about an hour and got 2000 reputation.

Description

I have on good authority that you are a champion among champions, but if you'll permit me this indulgence, I would like to test your mettle for myself.

The mogu who assault the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, the mogu minions who inhabit Shan'ze Dao, and the sha-corrupted mantid swarming the Dread Wastes... these may provide an adequate challenge for one of your stature.
