There is a small mound of dirt on the ground you have to use, and then defend the NPC from a few mobs as he gets summoned, overall very simple. The mound of dirt is not too easy to spot (at least it took me some time <.<) so look carefully :)

This quest seems bugged as of now. 28/9-2012. Everyone couldnt do it that I asked in General.

This quest and Arconiss (the other related quest) has bugged for a lot of people. The best thing to do, is to skip this part and continue in Hatred's Vice.

Golgoss is bugged for me (and for some others, we were at least 10 people, at the place, who couldnt summon him)-

Quest bugged but I was able to un-bug it.

I stood right next to the mob that was hitting the summoned creature and could then attack it instead of it evading. After I killed ALL of the creatures including the little ankle biters of swamp critters, once out of combat, it fully summoned the creature and it completed the quest.

The quests don't seem bugged... I think they just require patience.

After finding the small sparkling peat mounds, you will summon Golgoss (and then Arconiss the exact same way). Four waves of mobs will attack... defeat each wave... then wait for some dialogue and you should be all set.

They had plenty of time to correct this issue during beta but failed to do so. It was bugged almost continuously during beta and as evidence shows remains so now. A pity QC didn't follow up on a stack of reports on this issue. In general there's an issue since 5.x hit with items randomly becoming uninteractable. Sometimes logging out and back in helps, but not in this case.

As for those who are stating it wasn't bugged, please explain what, if anything, you did to use the peat clumps.

I asked a RealID friend on a different realm - where this quest worked - to group with me. Thanks to cross-realm magic I was able to do the quest on his realm and it worked just fine. :)

I'd like to point out to anyone still having problems with this quest; there are TWO peat piles, if you pick both quests up together. They are a sort distance away from each other but if you look you will find them.

Grouping with a RealID friend who's on another realm should solve any issues with this quest, as both I and the GM I talked to can confirm.

Run up to the swamp, before you get to the middle island, to the right, behind a fallen tree is a blue peat mound sparkling: 71.5, 72.3.

Right click it and defend it from the baddies that appear.

Then head north a short ways to: 70.5, 69.6

Right click and defend again.

Then you are done.

You don't have to defend Golgoss. He'll survive the summoning and run off with about 20% HP.

In Upper Sumprushes you will find both summons for (Golgoss) and (Arconiss). Golgoss's dirt pile to summon him is located at 70.5 69.6
Arconiss is located at 71.5 72.3 (make sure you are in Upper Sumprushes) there will be adds so be prepared defend your summons target.

ROGUE TIP: Sap the first enemy and you get free quest credit, no other enemies will spawn and you just have to wait for the ritual to complete. No combat needed. Also keeps you safer in PvP realms :)

Tip for rogues: Do NOT use shadowstep on Golgoss. You will fall through the world and disconnect.

There are a total of 5 mob groups you will fight.

Groups 1-3: One Osul Mistbreaker per group. These are much weaker than the Shamans you were fighting in the prerequisite quest... they have just about 160k health each.

Group 4: A swarm of "Small Swamp Rodent"

Group 5: Another Osul Mistbreaker.

Should be very easy.
