This is the first quest in the chain "Ruins of Gan-Shi", needed for the Jade Forest quest achievement.

This quest is obtained in the ruins slightly to the west of Sri-La village from a stone head on the ground called "Shattered Destroyer."

It is surrounded by Shan'ze Spiritbinders and Stonebound Destroyers, both level 85.

It does appear as a quest on your minimap given that you are in range of it.

As of 10/10/12, this quest is not available. The head that starts the quest cannot be interacted with, and there are no other quest-givers in the area (beyond the Sprite corpse that gives "The Sprites' Plight")

I think this quest doesn't make to live. The apparent evidence is

but you can't find any NPC named Weng in wowhead Live database.

Based on the description I speculate that this NPC existed around Greenstone Village on beta; on live we don't really walk around there except 1 jade collecting quest. So I guess they moved the breadcrumb directly to the passage where we usually walk through.

The (48.7, 24.9) mentioned by rampantVyn is where the corpse of "Outcast Sprite" is, the corpse object starts "The Sprites' Plight" quest, which seems become the first step of this chain.

The (48.6, 20.6) mentioned by thenuts is where the "Shattered Destroyer" is, this object now seems only start the "Simulacrumble" quest, which is a later step in this chain.

Investigate the Woods of the Lost, northeast of the Greenstone Quarry.

Description

Wood sprites are not prone to wandering, so I'm surprised they ventured down as far as the mason's quarter. Something must be forcing them out of their natural habitat.

These particular sprites are native to the Woods of the Lost, just north of here. I'd go myself, but I've heard those woods are haunted.

So yeah, that's out.

I guess we'll never know.
