This quest was hilarious when I received it, I got a chuckle from reading the quest description and then what it says once you complete the quest.

"Truth be told, no one likes eels. Eels don't even like eels." lol

That is one more thing you can mark off the list of things you can tell your grandchildren you did for them.

You receive the quest by killing an eel. You will give YOURSELF a quest to kill more eels.

It's interesting that you don't get any experience for this quest. You gain nothing from killing those eels, no insight or advancement to a greater purpose; you simply stop the eels from being eels that are alive, and karma drops 7g 80s into your palm.

Whoever decided to rate down all the comments asking where to turn it in is a jerk. I actually came to this page wondering the same thing and almost posted the question myself until I had the idea to look at all the hidden quests.

For those that wish to know, on your quest page there should be a button to turn it in to yourself.

This has to be one of the funniest quests I've ever done!
Definatly a favourite! Although punching our dearest Deathwing in the face was amusing.

There is no turn in location for this.
once you have done it you should have the option to complete/turn in.
if ya dont, then..... TURN OFF your addons.
it's buggy.

One good thing about the nasty little bastards: they're skinnable. And due to the fact that they respawn quicky, they're pretty good for leveling your skinning up quite a bit while you're starting out in Vashj'ir, along with Brinescale Serpents.

For all you addon people, you may have to disable your addons to compele the quest. took me awhile to learn that quest guru add on needed to be removed.

Lady La-La's Necklace have 0% drop chance beforeOphidophobia done and 100% after, however anyone can share you this quest as long as you are 80+lvl.
Anyone can takeVengeful Heart and do it's followups as long as they are 80+lvl. Quests above are NOT needed for it.

You know, I can't help but think that this may be a social commentary.

The quest tracker calls them Disgusting Eels, even though the mobs are named Slitherfin Eels. Now, this wouldn't make any sense, except you give yourself this quest. So clearly this quest itself is to be seen through your perspective, and not in the actuality of the world. Also, the quest tracker says they are "Justifiably Slain", something I have never seen in any other quest text in WoW.

So, you convince yourself that you need to kill these creatures for a reason that isn't backed up by the world, and you specifically justify this to yourself, despite the fact you've never had to before for any other quest.

Sounds like Blizzard is making a commentary on the human perspective and how it can easily be changed and we can convince ourselves to do things despite how we would normally act to things just because we view them a different way.

Then again, I'm probably just looking too deeply into a quest that Blizz threw in for the lulz.

For those of you with Carbonite, all you have to do (instead of disabling Carbonite) is to use Alt + L, and it will give you the option to use the old quest log. You can turn it in that way. Just a time saver :)

For me, I just killed a slitherfin eel, and the quest popped up. No one gives it to you.

I got this quest and i am pretty sad.
I love eels! They taste so good! Especially in Japanese restaurant with whatever sauce that is with rice.
So I came up here to check the quest's reference (cause you know, how weird the quest description and name is).
It's Things the Grandchildren Should Know by the band Eels, as another member said.
Also i don't know why are people having problem with turing it in, it auto complete on the right of your screen.

The best thing about this quest is that my toon got killed by the eel and when my toon resurrects they immediately get this quest. I can picture my annoyed toon thinking "That's it eels, now I'm gonna exterminate you lot."
