you have to mount one of the catapults located at 23.52 and just nuke the mobs coming at you

You don't drive the catapult; you just sit there and shoot. There's only one weapon button.

Aim with your mouse; use Control-1 to fire.

When I tried this quest, I was unable to aim up or down with the mouse. However, I found that the up & down arrows in the action bar still works.

Very easy if you aim close and bombard the ones being held still by the Stonehearth.
