I'd recommend not trying this quest in a party - an add spawns for every person within range so if you're in a group you'll have fast waves of 5 spawns and quickly get overwhelmed.

Furthermore the targetting device seemed to do nothing to the adds! I eventually left 4 people at the Mekkatorque talking point and they all got the credit after the single person completed it.

Am I the only one that has trouble staying alive through this? I'm a level 5 warlock and get slaughtered by 3 or more of the Crushcog Technicians :/

Use the beam until the minions spawn, then focus on taking them out using normal attacks, eg corruption and immolate for a warlock. The npcs will easily defeat Crushcog, and as a lvl 5 warlock I found the minions went down easily provided I just cursed them. Use corruption first, as it's instant cast, then immolate.

ok the uet is bugged cause u just talk to High Tinker Mekkatorque at Iceflow Lake when you are ready to begin the battle and u don't even need the orbital targeting device and u win.

It just took me three tries as a level five warlock. First time, I was ambushed by four Crushcog Technicians and didn't live very long. Second time, I had three of the Technicians killed before the fourth managed a critical hit on me and killed me. Third time, I ran to the far right side of the battle and the Technicians only came one at a time which allowed me to live and complete this quest. Hopefully this will help others!

Did this as Level 5 mage. The mobs attacked one at a time, easily killed. I used the Orbital Tagging Device in between attacks on me. There was a huge bright flash each time! Easy, peasy. And the infantry cheered for me. Then we all had to go have a drink of ale to celebrate the victory--a Dun Morogh Mountaineer suggested it, of course.

I am a level 5 rouge and I just went stealth took out Crushcog Technicians one by one. Very easy quest but also MISLEADING. You do not need the item they gave you.

This quest must have been nerfed. I did it and came here afterwards to see what the item was actually supposed to have done. The above comments say it's super hard so I abandoned and redid it to see if I'd had help or something. Nope, two easily killed adds. I'm a L5 warrior on a brand new account; either L5 warriors are a hell of a lot more OP than they used to be or the quest got crashed into by the nerf blimp.

I'm a level 6 warlock. I've tried this quest four times now, and I die every time, just before Razlo dies.
I have tried standing on the right, on the left, and still the adds just come from around me. I usually have about 6 at once and I can never survive.

Just gonna sit here and wait until someone else comes up to do the quest.

To find Mekkatorque walk to the east, and go to the southern island, not the northern one.

Well it helps to start the quest right! Duh! My bad! Go to the north island and start the invasion and then use the sky targeting system.

Alright, this quest was a little confusing. To initiate this quest, talk to High Tinker Mekkatorque first in Iceflow Lake who are located on top o a hill in the middle some what. When you click on him, a box will appear. Press 'I'm ready to start the assault'. That was my first mistake. Took me a few minutes to realize that's what I had to do first. Next the Crushcog Technicin's are what you have to look out for. Good luck!

disappointed that when another player is atacking him, you can't join in and the quest just auto-completes.

After patch 7.3.5 this quest takes very long to complete. Razlo Crushcog's health is 305,7k and Mekkatorque's melee attacks are weak, hitting for 400 damage each.

If you plan on physically attacking Crushcog and you have any BoA gear, I would recommend using your orbital targeting device and just white swinging. If you use any abilities, you will pull threat off Mekkatorque's due to his pathetic attacks. Crushcog's machine gun ability does 55-65 damage a hit and he uses it 12 times in rapid succession, which will quickly kill you, even as a plate wearing class.

This quest proves that startleveling a Gnome is far more difficult than startleveling a Dwarf. The latter is pretty braindead fighting neutral NPCs up to lvl 8 in Coldridge Valley before flying to the cozy inn at Kharanos. Meanwhile, a Gnome is jumpleveling to 10 doing quests involving hostile NPCs in Frostmane Hold and Iceflow Lake, and yet have no inn to call a home!

This quest used to be the one part of making a gnome that I would dread a bit. It always seemed to be just a bit too scary every time, no matter the class! Imagine my surprise when I leveled two gnomes this week and discovered that Crushcog gets absolutely shredded in about 5 seconds by Mekkatorque haha. The individual gnome adds didn't spawn either time and it was only a few mechs fighting along side Crushcog, and neither time did any of them attack me at all - they only focused the NPCs. It's quite a stark difference from the past experiences I've had with this, where those aforementioned gnome adds would wreck me a little sometimes.

It's pretty amusing how this quest ends so quickly and painlessly now :P

Description

Our cousins, the dwarves of Ironforge, have agreed to help us in the battle against Razlo Crushcog. Mountaineer Stonegrind is a veteran who knows Dun Morogh well. He and High Tinker Mekkatorque stand ready on a small snow-covered island in Iceflow Lake to the north. Meet up with them there and let the high tinker know when you are ready to face the traitor Crushcog.

Take this orbital targeting device and use it during the battle. It will help guide the high tinker's special weapons.
