You must agro the peons by hitting or taunting them and waiting for them to toss you the ore. The ore will appear next to you and will become lootable. If you are killing them in one hit, its time to get naked :P

You may have to complete Return to Stardust and Hellscream's Legacy to unlock this quest.

You'll proably have to strip yourself naked to do this task at lvl 80. At least i had to do it.

As a level 80 warrior, I just used demoralizing shout to agro them and get them to toss the quest items rather than taking off all my armour. So, any other classes out there with any non-damaging abilities could easily do the same.

Confirmed: One shotting the orcs before they drop their ore will cause the ore to disappear.

As a level 80 rogue, you can use Feint to get them to throw the ore. They yell "You no take ore!" as they... throw it at you. No one ever said peons were smart.

As a ele shaman, i just hit m with my hands, no weapon equipped. That helped as well.

For highlevel Hunters there is no need to strip down to prevent oneshotting them
laying down an Ice Trap will aggro them when they trigger it so they can throw their ore at you. Also an orc walking into the affected area of an already triggered Ice Trap will aggro.
Edit: Snake Trap and Explosive Trap also do the trick.

if your a lvl 80 druid just use faerie fire and they will throw the ore ,the you can one shot them :)

This quest is level 26, and nearly every comment is about how to do it at level 80. How about us who actually are level 26? I can't get two feet into the mine entrance without aggroing an overseer, and then two peons join the fight, and if I survive I have to run back to the questgivers to heal, and then repeat the process. So far I have died several times, killed a lot of overseers, and don't have one rock.

Some of the peons, while walking around, say some humorous things.

NO CAN SEE NOTHIN! Move out of da way!
MOVE! DIS ROCK HEAVY!
Walking blindly tru dark mine wit big rock in arms. Much better dan last job.
Maybe me put dis rock down and say hello. Maybe.
Move or I tell da overseer dat you pooped in da bucket!

And my personal favorite.
Why me have to carry big rock? Dey said less work under da new Warchief! Dey promised change!

The mobs for both this quest and it's sister quest Windshear Mine Cleanup are very closely packed. If you're a clothie trying to run these quests when they're yellow, then you will probably need to run this with another person. I tried to solo it with no luck 3 times before I gave up and asked for help from my guild.

I found out that at higher level you can one shot them, they will not be a rock next to them right away but it appears after a few seconds

Just done this quest and found that many of the peons were throwing the ore down into the ground where it disappeared. I had to kill 16 peons to get 10 ores.

Description

Keep your head down, <name>. No need to draw unwanted attention.

Looks like the orcs are piling that balloon up with some type of ore from the mine. Get in there and take the ore from the orcs. Bring me back whatever you manage to grab and I'll ship it off to the professor for examination.

Before you go, a word of advice: you can avoid the Krom'gar pretty easily in there as (1) they're dumb as dirt and (2) they can't see anything if they're carrying ore. Of course, you need to kill them to get their ore.
