You also have to do the quest from the Submerged outhouse below the ship, so turn on your lowbie quest tracking.

Griznak is located south of the main barge on the smaller of the two platforms!

I dunno what I am not doing/doing wrong, but I think this quest is a little bugged.

I got the quest, sailed around and put out the 15 fires. Quest completed.

Can't turn it in, the NPC isn't there on the barge due to the phasing. No auto-progression pop-up shows up either, to indicate I keep going while on the boat.

I have opened a ticket for it now, hoping to resolve this.

Edit: Issue Resolve. Seems Carbonite doesn't always work with the new quest popups

Get boat from Griznak he is outside of boat at Taranis side.. talk to him and get boat than spam skill number 1 to fire on boat. Done!

You need to get a boat from Griznak, who is on the south side of the boat, you need to cross a small bridge to get to him. When in the boat, use the ability to put out the fires. It is necessary to have accuracy here, or it will not record. Turn the quest in by clicking on the quest pop-up on the right side of your screen when you complete.

It must be a new feature for this quest, on completion WITH THE DEFAULT QUEST LOG you get a "complete quest" button.
I had questguru and it doesn't show up.
Disabled and there it was.

this has got to be one of the most ignorate undoable quests. you cannot control the boat, you can't chage your prespective, and eveytime i tried to fire on something i kept getting your target must be in front of you. i gave up and dumped it in frustration.

You have to hit 15 different parts of the barge that are on fire. That includes the upper parts.....do not try to put the flames out in the same spot, you are wasting your time. The flames do come back and are not re-extinguishable.

It took me a while to figure this one out. Your movement keys (right, left) swing your character around on the gunner chair. So the "in front of you" means when your gunner chair faces the ship, not looking towards the prow of your own boat. It still took a while since a lot of fires didn't seem to react, but I finally got it done.

I completed this quest yesterday despite having some serious trouble with it. The camera wasn't facing the speedbarge as shown in the above youtube video. If anyone else has this problem, going into the interface menu and changing your camera following style to 'never adjust camera' will allow you to see the barge and complete the quest. You do have to turn it as your boat circles, but it makes the quest doable.

This quest is annoying. hard to find Griznah and hard to target the fires, poorly designed quest.

the next quest circle the wagons... er, boats is much better.

It took me 45 minutes to complete this. Countless times I hit the fires dead on and nothing happened. It was only by random chance that I got credit for a fire put out. This quest is seriously bugged, and seriously frustrating. Please tell your GM.

Ok someone down the list talked about carbonite being a problem with this quest, they may have fixed it now, the quest shows as a question mark on your list on right hand side of screen where all your list of active quests sits. Click on questionmark and quest completes.

1. Use the arrow keys to assure toon is faced straight ahead
2. Yes, you have to drag the camera view around from time to time to face the boat
3. Do yourself a favor, aim for the fires in the interior of the boat. I had a hard time hitting anything on the exterior. I found hitting from the dock, where you boarded, gave the best result.
4. Be patient, this quest is a pain, must have made 10 -15 circles around the boat. Good luck.

I`m not sure if they fixed the bug or not but I just finished this quest. It seems that if you spray water on an perpendicular surface (like a wall) then fires will not be put out. If you spray water on a horizontal surface (like the deck) then fires will be put out. I was able to complete this quest in about four minutes by spraying the docks that surround the barge, not the barge itself. I hope that this helps!

This quest sorely tests your patience and accuracy. Here's how I did it:

1- Set "Camera Following Style" in Interface>Camera menu to "Never adjust camera"
2- Make sure your toon is facing the burning boat. Usually you will be at or near 90 degrees to the rest of the boat you are riding on.
3- Press one with your left hand (my way), while aiming the mouse with the right hand. Click to set the aim and release the water.
4- Usually Blizzard is pretty loose on accuracy. Not so this time: you better be right on the money or very very close to the fire.
5- The first time I did this quest, I gave up out of total frustration and THEN read all these comments lol Perseverance pays off, as does reading. Good luck.

Aiming stinks on this. The easiest way I found was to aim just infront of the fire, so the water will spray over it as you are moving forward. I couldn't get a single one out before I did this.
Another help, aim for the the fires around the dock areas, harder to get anything on the boat.

Lots and lots of posts telling you how to put fires out, but very few telling you where Griznak is. And without your boat, you aren't putting any fires out.

Face south. You know the little dock thing at the side of the barge that the guy that brought you here dropped you off at? (A tauren brave if you're Horde. It's been long enough since I did this as Alliance I've forgotten who brings you here.)

He's on that floating dock thing. You will need to go down a small ramp (not the huge ramps actually on the barge) to get onto the dock thing. And he's kind of behind a tent so you may not see him until you're actually on the dock-thing and can see behind the tents.

I kept running around looking for him on the barge. He's not on the barge. He's on a little floating dock next to the south side of the barge.

it's much easier if you shoot backwards instead of forwards ... even though it says the target must be in front of you ...

Very frustrating. The easiest way I found to (usually) hit the fires was to aim at fires near the edge of the boat or the docks. If the green crosswires appeared to hit multiple surfaces instead of laying flat, I seemed more likely to hit a fire.

If you hit any of the crewmembers while on this quest, they will be frozen in ice for a short time.

A tip if you're getting frustrated with the moving camera, go into your camera controls under interface and change your camera style to "Never Adjust Camera". This will stop your camera from constantly flipping around and making it harder to hit the targets.

Was getting bored with my 100s so decided to blow the dust off an old mage and have some fun. I remember this quest as being the stupidest most tedious ever, and was hoping Blizz had tweaked it. No, it is still frustrating as ever, riding around on that stupid boat hoping something will count as a hit on the fire. Worst part is you have to persevere or you can't continue on the barge quests.

There still seems to be no rhyme nor reason as to what you hit will work. I had direct hits on fires that went out not count, and just hitting the side of the barge that did. Best advice is just to spam the water cannon and shoot at anything. This quest is still a blind squirrel.

This worked best when I aimed high. Couldn't hit anything until I started aiming at the roofs, then it was pretty quick and easy. Whoever programmed this quest needs to be tied up and hosed down with ice water from a high-powered water cannon for an hour.

Aim just BELOW where you see the fire. You would think that hitting it dead on would count but it does not. Took me a while to figure this out. Also do remember that as others have said, both your mouse and your movement keys can swing your character around and result in the "target must be in front of you" error.

After this quest there is one more in this awful boat and then you'll be experiencing the zone in your very own boat (same model but much faster and easier to control), so hang in there! :)
