The spawnrate is, from my experience.... SO badly!
I managed to kill 2 of the dying ones, got 1 drop... been waiting around for 5mins scouting the whole place, and there is nothing here...

The spawnrate is... absolutely horrible, at best.

The droprate is indeed terrible (its 1 in 2-3 kills) compared to the ammount of dying kodo's that spawn.
However clearing the area from ancient and aged kodo's does help the dying kodo respawns.

Here is a map location for all of you who are having problems with the spawn rate: . I found a Dying Kodo here, and as soon as I killed it another one spawned. They kept respawning instantly until I killed something like 10-12 Dying Kodos - which was enough for my quest.

Guys, make sure that you search the ENTIRE gray area,
there is even a goblin with a quest you might miss!
I got all 3 in ~10 minutes?

Do your other quests and then come back to this one, 2-3 more will spawn.

Keep switching between spawn points and you can complete the quest in 2 mins

There are two spawn points (48,60) and (52,55) the dying kodo instantly respawns at either of these points. So kill it and if it didn't respawn just run over to the other point and he'll be there.

They are found spawning at the ledge above the graveyard valley eastside. One spawns just weat of NPC Hornizz Brimbuzzle (Quest: Ghost-o-plasm Round Up loc:Desolace (47.84, 61.85)) and the other if you follow the ledge NE.

The goblin mentioned is at . As of 4.2, Dying Kodos population total is ~10. Several are located around the goblin and then there are the two @ and . The drop rate is approximately 40% from my experiences in this area.

Note: You do not have to complete Ghost Walker Post In order to Recieve this quest, just go directly too Maurin Bonesplitter and he will have the quest for you. I wasted ALOT of time before realising this was the case.

The dying kodos at 48,60 and 52,55 are still there in patch 4.2, but they no longer "insta-spawn." I've been running between those two points for at least ten minutes, and they haven't respawned. I've found three others around the graveyard rim, doing this quest on 2 different toons. Still horrible drop rate.

I had no problem finding 4 or 5 of the Dying Kodos on the south side of the Kodo Graveyard that dropped the horns that I needed.

*Edit: After running around that area, I found at least 10 of Dying Kodos.

Who doesn't love macros? This one looks for a kodo of the appropriate name and marks it with a skull.

A fitting name for the mob type you need, these beasts are more elusive than the Ashes of Al'ar.
To add insult to injury, they don't always drop the horns.

TomTom doesn't seem to be working since Draenor for me. If you dont have an addon for coordinates, the Dying Kodos are up on a ledge, slightly above the graveyard. I just kept running around the ledge. On one side, there is a camp there with some Goblins. They hand out a couple of quests if you're Horde. Not sure if they are for both factions.

These guys share spawns with the ancient and aged kodos in the area, so if you're having trouble finding any dying kodo, clear out the other ones and they should spawn.

Utter garbage quest. Putting 3 different types of Kodos (dying, ancient, aged), you have to kill the Dying Kodos (rare to start with) to get another one to spawn, which it will do in an entirely different spot, all while trying to side step carrion horror birds that that will aggro you if you remotely come close to them, all with a drop rate averaging one every 2-3 Dying Kodos that you kill. Oh, and then to top it off, if you go right towards the question mark, you won't get there, because it is up on top of a hill that you can't climb, you have to go way back around to the right and climb up another hill then cross a bridge to get back to the quest giver. This is the type of quest that should have never made it through beta.

The 3 spawn points are:
- 52.5, 62.3
- 52.0, 55.6
- 48.1, 60.3

They seem to re-spawn immediately after you kill one at a different spawn point, or after a very long time (if you don't kill another)

Maurin Bonesplitter wants you to collect 3 Hollow Kodo Horns from Dying Kodo.

Description

As fate would have it, there's a special deed that needs doing - one that will benefit the Cenarion Circle as well as myself.

You see, <class>, I am under pressure to create a special... concoction, shall we say. I believe my work to be complete, but I need to have it tested to be certain.

The target of this test is to be the naga, who threaten this region from the west. Their demise would surely aid the Circle.

First though, I need a delivery device. Hollow horns from the dying kodo should do nicely.
