The horn is located at the coordinates 29,53, up a long ramp from the north end of the Centaur's camp.

In order to blow it you need to get the mouthpiece which has a very low drop rate (about 1%), so expect to be killing Centaur's for quite a long time.

Once the horn has been blown you will face 3 waves of enemies. The first attack is two Maraudine Khan Guard's. The second attack is two more Khan Guard's along with a Maraudine Khan Advisor who will heal the other two if you don't kill her first. The final attack will be Khan Hratha who is an elite with two Khan Guard's and an Advisor.

Without outleveling the quest you'll have a hard time doing this one solo if you are lacking crowd control. It's probably best to invite someone else along, since getting the mouthpiece drop is so hard and everyone gets the quest item off the kill.

Soloed this Quest at level 41, Draenei Paladin.

Killed all but the boss first time, and when i ran back in ghost, he had Not despawned.

So i soloed him there. Easy Peasy :)

Soloed as a level 41 Warrior. Was not an easy quest to complete solo though. The horn was relatively easy, just low drop rate. Although the boss proved to be difficult. Died twice during boss fight, finally used retal + death wish + blood fury and ended up with 130hp.

Might want to think about bringing a buddy along on this quest.

soloed it with a 40 Warlock and a VW. first wave was easy, just send the vW in first to get the aggro and dot em down.

Second wave again same procedure.

The boss himself got chainfeared. I used one Health Stone and a mana pot for that q

As a level 41 Prot Paly, I adapted this hunter's strat... sorta. The waves were easy. Blocked them to death. No big deal. Plenty of time to drink between waves even. The last wave, I killed the healer and one of his guards, bubbled and healed up a bit... killed the other guard... started meleeing him. Had to use a Mana Potion. Stunned him... Holy Light... start again... did a Blessing of Protection after my recently bubbled debuff was gone and first aided up a bit... stunned him again and meleed him down. Used Seals and Judgements of Light and Wisdom.

I completed this quest solo as a level 44 priest. The first two waves were easy: I simply killed the first wave incredibly fast and had a quick time interval to drink before the second wave spawned. When the second wave came, I nuked the healer while the other two were feared. The last wave I simply tab-mind soothed all the mobs, and then I mindcontrolled Khan Hratha. As you can imagine, killing the 3 ads was easy using him: he has a cleave ability that deals massive damage. After the three ads were dead, he was at about 50% and I killed him easily. Good luck!

Rather difficult to solo due to the last wave. It contains a healer/caster, 2 melee guards (they can kick spell casting), and the 42 elite khan. The guards are 39-40 (similar to trash below). I advise CC'ing the elite and killing the guards first.

Khan has a fair amount of health so healing or good CC is necessary. You can die and run back multiple times before he despawns. One option is to kill 1-2 guards, die, kill 1-2, and leave only Khan left. Solo'd as 45 druid.

Did this quest with a 43 hunter with king B as pet. Used a combined strategy of the above. I let my pet charge in, laid down a trap, pulled one mob in the trap. My pet killed 1, and then died due to the massive damage Khan's cleave does!

Feigned Death, ressed pet, and continued the above script. On the last pull i pulled Khan into the trap, killed the last add and when it died i just had time to take an aimed shot on khan. Pet went in, and i did the quest!

Soloed as a 41 Enh shaman.

First wave, 2 x melee
Second wave, 2 x melee + healer
Third wave, 2 x melee, healer and Khan Hratha.

First two waves without a problem. Killed the healer in 3. wave before i died.
Ressed, killed the rest of the adds, ran away, rested and killed Khan Hrata.

Buy an ankh and save yourself some running time if you are a shaman ;)

low drop-rate wtf O_o bull-shit... as level 38 hunter the mouthpiece dropped on 2nd centaur i killed - when i got the quest... the reason why it says 1% is cause peeps kill the mobs without havin the quest!

Completed at level 37, with a level 38 buddy of mine. Down the waves easy peasy (both of us are warlocks), chain feared and dotted Khan, and down. Dead in less then 2 minutes.

I soloed this as lvl40 fire mage. pretty easy but in the same way not. had to get out of combat few times. took 2 waves simply then, I ran out of combat so the mobs were walking, took 2 mobs, ran out of combat, took the last one before khan, sheeped khan and evocated e.tc then I had half hp and full mana I simply nuked him :) He did just resist my scorch once.

I got stuck on this one ... and then I realized: If "Khan Shaka" is "Chaka Khan," and "Khan Jehn" is "Gen Con" ...

... Then this one, "Khan Hratha," must be a play on "Wrath Of Khan" (prounced "Wrath o' Khan").

As of 2.3:
The second wave is just like the first one (2 melee mobs), the third wave consists of Khan, a melee mob and a healer, Khan Hratha is no longer elite and the quest now gives 6000 experience.

Me (Hump lvl 36 Warior) and my firend ( Abandyn lvl 38 warrior) owned it...just took on the main boss got him to half then feared then continued to kill.....easy...but hard :P Good luck

I'm going to recommend that you loot Khan Hratha as soon as you kill him, even if you aren't done killing the other mobs yet. Because I just did this quest and I didn't loot him right away, and he disappeared (as well as many of the other mobs) before I could loot him for the quest item. So I had to go through the whole process of killing a bunch of centaurs and finding the mouthpiece again. So be prepared!

not an easy quest for solo lvl 40 SPriest, but still i've done it and worth the bother for 6000 XP.
i've been lucky to get the drop of the mouthpiece on the 5-th kill, then killed the first wave of two marauders, then on the second wave i've been killed. after resurection i mind controlled one of the guards and they fought each other until 25% hp when i killed them easily by wand to keep full mana. when Khan appeared i focused all my damage on him (SW:P, Devouring Plague, MB), feared them and keep close Khan with Mind Flay, Shield, then MB again, MF, renewed SW:P and when finally Khan died cast Fear again to loot quietly and run away.

Solo'd as 42 lock with VW...

First you need the mouthpiece which drops off any of the centaurs on ur way into the area.. (just past kodo graveyard for those without coords)

After you get that head up the tunnel at the northwester most part of the area up the long ramp...the horn is located there.

Three waves will occur without having to blow horn again:

1st wave: 2 centaurs
2nd wave:2 centaurs
3rd wave: 2 centaurs and boss centaur...

as of 2.3 there are no elites, and i found this quest quite easy, just make sure u heal / gather mana right after waves because the next wave will be there within 30 seconds.

Also drops dissappear really quick, so if I were you i would kill the boss last, and kill the healing advisor first.

Was worried after reading some of the comment, shouldnt have been
42 combat rogue was easy stealthed and waited for each mob sapped 1 killed the other then killed sapped 1 same for second mob.
Then when last mob came sapped 1 killed Khan looted and vanished the sapped and killed 1 then killed the other quest completed no pots 1/2 health

This was easily soloed as a 42 ret paladin. Bubbled once. The final wave including Khan walks very slowly so you have time to eat or drink before the big fight. Just take out the healer first.

Just soloed this as a 56 mage (Arcane). Used Arcane Explosion to take out the first 2 waves. Third wave with Khan approached slow, so I had time to mana up. Hit the healer first, then the advisor. Took all 3 out in ~45 seconds, with one-third of my life still left.

Picked up the mouthpiece on the 3rd centaur I killed. Picked up a second one after killing the Khan. Drop rate is about 1 out of every 15 centaur killed.

I managed to solo this quest with a level 40 Warrior and succeeded on the first try. The first two waves are easy to deal with, the last one alittle harder. Once in battle using the "Retaliation" skill, concentrate all efforts on the boss. Using the "Intimedating Shout", the Guard and the Healer centaur run in fear, which allows you to completely overwhelm the boss. Quickly get his health down to less then 20% and use the "Excecute" skill to finish him off.
Quickly grab the key you need (just in case you die), and focus on the healer. Using "Cleave" and "Thunderclap" to hurt both enemies. Keep your health up with a potion, and use "Excecute" when available.

I Used only one lesser healing potion after killing the healer. It's a good thing the last group takes they're time to climb the road towards the horn. This allows for enough healing with food or bandages.

Either this quest is bugged, or for once the "1.4% drop rate" isn't inaccurate because people not on the quest are doing it.

After an hour of killing, no drop from ANY centaur.

It looks like this quest got a LOT easier. I just solo'd it with a windserpent on my untrained lvl 40 hunter with absolutely no problems. I would suggest strategies (i.e. frost trap and whatnot), but they were hardly needed.

If you follow the camp's natural path north you'll come to the dirt path that leads you to this ramp. I killed guys on the way and the mouthpeice dropped without any issues. Goodluck!

Picked up the mouthpiece after about 20 kills, from centaur in tent at 33,54. Blew the horn, killed all the mobs. Unfortunately, I killed Khan 1st, and by the time I got done with the 2 adds, his corpse was gone. I went back to the same tent, and got the mouthpiece from the same centaur (33,54).

Solo'd as a lvl 40 retadin (after they were upgraded).
I was fightingcentaur for a while, then i logged out. Logged back in the day after got it 4th kill (mouthpiece). when i called boss fought 2 maradine khan guards. Repentance one then pwnd the other. Next wave was the same... same strat. For the boss, there was a maradine khan guard, maradine caster/healer and boss. Repentance the boss smashed the caster then the guard. then smashed boss... no bubbles or heals... easy as pie.......mmm pie

Completed as 37 prot warrior. Before this i have never died more than 3 times in a zone, but i died multiple times on this one quest. It's doable, and it's not *that* frustrating.

Just make sure to kill any advisers he comes with first, then the guard, because if you're underlevelled, you're gonna take a while to kill the Khan.

Easily soloed as a level 39 feral druid. Got the mouth piece after about 40 kills -.-, used it, first wave pwned easily as I had a glyph of Maul, pwned next wave easily, and as Khan took about 30 seconds to get up the hill, gave me enough time to put regrowth and rejuvination on - and as he approached me, turned into bear form, and pwned all 3 - by the time i killed khan the other 2 protecting him had died due to thorns and glyph of maul. Didnt get below 50%

I was lucky and got the drop after about 10 kills on my way to the horn. Khan will come at you very slowly, so you'll have time after the first two waves to heal or even drink a potion or eat food. i ignored the healer that was with him, her heals are very weak, and it's probably better to just kill khan first. after consecration x2 and my retribution aura she was nearly dead by the time i turned to her anyway.

very easy quest for me. Lvl 41 ret Pally. Cleared out the mobs on the way to the ramp and did the escort quest first. Then went up ramp, got the mouthpiece from one of the Marauders. as said before they come in 3 waves, I just used consecrate and my seal of command on judgement of light. Khan came up with two guards and an advisor. used same technique for them, came out with a third of my health, didn't use my bubble at all. hope this helps someone

I was able to do this quest with my 35 priest and a 35 hunter. Died a few times but it wasn't that bad. My suggestion if you do this quest as a lower level bring good healing or mana potions to help you through. And make sure you keep the mobs that are called by the horn. The other mobs respawned pretty quick.

Just solo'd this as a 42 enhance shammy. First wave was 2 melee mobs, I dropped Stoneclaw Totem to have on attack it, and quite easily killed the other, same on the second wave. After wave 2 I was low on health so I ran halfway down the ramp and dropped my stoneclaw totem then backed up and began eating and drinking only to see Khan Hratha and his 2 adds slowly walk up the ramp. So, if you get low on health and/or mana after the second wave, you have plenty of time to go back by the horn and eat/drink.

Even if you are like me and enjoy soloing difficult quests when possible, get a group if you do not outlevel the quest due to three reasons:

The horrible drop rate for the mouthpiece.
The Khan Hratha fight. I soloed everything else in Desolace but found soloing this fight impossible as a 36 balance druid.
The fact that the mouthpiece goes away when used, whether you've killed Khan or not! Khan and his men stick around for a few attempts, but will eventually go away, which means grinding for another mouthpiece.

There's a time and place for pride and this isn't it. If at all in doubt, get a friend or two to help you.

#1 Kill mobs in valley of spears until mouthpiece drops. Low drop rate, expect to invest some time to get.

#2 Go to 30.17, 51.23 and follow ramp to top where horn is and click on the end of it at bottom to start event.

#3 Kill 3 waves of mobs, get quest drop. DONE

If you die before you can collect the key fragment from Khan Hratha, the mouthpiece is used, and must be farmed again.

This quest is now on my 'too annoying to bother with' list.

I was unsure I would be able to solo this on my lvl 40 prot pally after having read most of above. But no guildies were about and I thought "oh what the.." and went ahead anyway.

Easily solable! Two first wawes went effortlessly (2 x 2 lvl 40s). Plenty of time to drink between fights. As a herbalist I used Lifeblood during the fight with the boss (lvl 42) and his guards (lvl 40 and 39) and that was it. Not a hard fight at all.

The hardest part of this quest is obtaining the mouthpiece, and that's only because it takes a long time. I cleared most of the camp before getting the drop.

This quest was a breeze on my lvl 36 prot pally. Seal of light and Blessing of Sanctuary with Ret Aura. Kill the healer first, of course, then I worked on the Khan, the other mob died from ret and consecration damage while I fought the Khan.

I've had this quest for a while, just got to it. I got the mouthpiece and used it, killed the guy I needed too so i completed the quest. However, theres no one to turn the quest in to, no Uthek the Wise, lol. Awesome, another headache lol

<name>, you helped us against the Magram. Now, help us beat the Maraudine! Kill the head of their clan, Khan Hratha!

To face him, blow the Maraudine War Horn. It is atop a high bluff in the Valley of Spears.

But to blow the horn, you must gain a warhorn mouthpiece. These are rare, carried only by trusted Maraudine centaur.

After the horn is blown, centaur will come. Kill them until Hratha appears.
