1. Before the Storm (Scenario)
• Accept the quest, Before the Storm from Initiate Da-Nel, after arriving in Dalaran, and you have turned in In the Blink of an Eye.
• Use Zen Pilgrimage to teleport to the Peak of Serenity, Kun-Lai Summit.

Stage 1 - The Council of Masters
• Speak with Flamekin Torcher, and listen to the tale, until Initiate Chuang bursts into the room with an Infernal Destroyer close behind.
• After the Infernal Destroyer charges into the room, defeat it.
- - Interrupt Blazing Hellfire.

Stage 2 - The Cry of the Crane
• Follow Flamekin Torcher out of the Shrine of the Ox (through the west door), and travel to northwest toward 45.6, 42.7.
- - When you reach the area of 47, 43, you will come across scorched fel fire patches, on the ground. Avoid standing in these, as you make your way to the Cave of the Crane.
- - Enter the cave and defeat Vizznak.
- - Interrupt Immolating Blast and Fel Slagblast.
- - After defeating Vizznak, listen to Number Nine Jia.

Stage 3 - Journey to the East
• Follow Number Nine Jia out of the cave, and take her hand .

Stage 4 - Tangle with a Tiger
• After landing, cross the bridges to the north to 50.4, 38.3, killing any demons you come across.
• Assist Chen Stormstout by defeating Morvath the Reaver.

Stage 5 - Precious Cargo
• Follow Chen Stormstout southwest, to coords 49.8, 39.7.
• Defeat the Infernal Invader that drops down.
- - Interrupt Blazing Hellfire.
• Continue south to 49.8, 41.5.

Stage 6 - Mastering the Odds
• Listen to the conversation between Chen Stormstout and Blood Elf Priestess.
• Follow Blood Elf Priestess northwest to coords 48.7, 41.1.
• Defeat Portal Master Jorvinax.
- - Avoid standing in Fel Spikes, which Portal Master Jorvinax casts on the ground, in the area.

Stage 7 - Portal Problems (Final Stage)
• Click on the Master Fel Stone to destroy the demon portal.
• After the destruction of the demon portal at the Peak of Serenity, you will awaken to find yourself on The Wandering Isle.
• Exit the building at the Mandori Village, and travel northwest to the Temple of Five Dawns at 51.2, 54.4.
• Turn in the quest to Fearsome Jang.

NOTE: Contrary to information listed in Wowhead, this quest is active, and was reborn with the Legion expansion (thank you Sesiko).

If you do this quest at lvl 10, where you have not got Zen Pilgrimage yet, there will be a portal to Peak of Serenity in Dalarans portal room.

Fun Fact, if you do not accept the quest Initiate Da-Nel will grow increasingly desperate to get you to accept the quest.

Has a rather amusing dialogue if you don't accept it quickly:
46:08s|10:46 Initiate Da-Nel says: Hey, Boringmonk! Message for you from Grand Master Hight!
46:19s|10:46 Initiate Da-Nel says: Where are you going? Hey, got a message for you!
46:30s|10:46 Initiate Da-Nel says: Come on! I got to deliver this message!
46:43s|10:46 Initiate Da-Nel says: Please, just give me a moment. Master Jang is going to make me paint the whole temple again if I don't deliver this!
46:56s|10:46 Initiate Da-Nel says: Do you know how big the temple is? It takes weeks to finish! Please, listen to the message!
47:11s|10:47 Initiate Da-Nel says: Fine, be that way. I'll follow you around this whole city if I have to!

If you're trying to figure out how to get to the wandering isles when using zen pilgrimage/or just obtain this quest like I was you have to talk to khadgar in dalaran and complete "Magic Message". Next thing you know the Initiate Da-Nel will run up to you with the quest. Idk if this was obvious for everyone else or not but just incase I figured I'd post this comment.

edit - also if you hit a wall with the legion questline for your class stuff (idk what its called LOL) @ "Champions of Legionfall" you must complete before the storm and some quests after that in order to pursue your legion artifact weapon. Now you may be wondering why you have to obtain this weapon.. The answer to that is because you can't proceed to the champions of legionfall quest until you complete "A Hero's Weapon" where you raise your artifact weapon at your order hall. Thank me later, really wish blizz made this stuff just a little more simple <3

If you're trying to do this during Dragon Flight with the Hunt the Harbinger questline not completed, you may not see Initiate Da-Nel. After completing the quest he came back to bother me like he always does.

If you're trying to start the Monk Class Hall with a fresh Remix character, Da-Nel won't show up while the quest to start War Within is in your quest log. I abandoned the quest and Da Nel immediately showed up. The other option (tested on my Warlock with a similar issue) is to complete the WW intro up to reaching Dornogal.
