This Quest is dedicated to Ezra, I brave little kid that loves playing wow, just like most of us. Blizzard made this kid's dreams come true, treating him on a tour of the studio's, meeting the dev team and making special items, quests and npc's just for him, which are playable for us right now.

A shame this quest is horde only, because I'd love to do it myself.

To Ezra, if you get to read this, have fun and lots more good times.

Kyle is a wolf, he runs around in a circle around bloodhoof village..you dont need to be close to him to use it, you just right-click on the food when hes running past and he will come over. After he eats it, the quest is complete.

Yea, he appears friendly to both factions, but my nightelf rogue couldn't talk to him.
So I'd agree that this quest is horde only.

Us old fogies will also recognize Kyle's dance as Snoopy's dance from the various animated TV specials. Too bad Schroeder doesn't show up to play piano!

Throughout the day, he got to design a new weapon, add his dog Kyle to the game, create a quest and record his voice for the new character, Ahab Wheathoof, the Old Rancher.

My Girlfriend found Ahab on her way to Thunder Bluff and said his voice was different. Seems she was right.

Nobody has said where to find the meat to complete the quest. It drops from Adult Plainstriders, Elder Plainstriders, and Mazzranache, the rare pink tallstrider. The striders spawn all over Mulgore so finding the meat is not difficult.

Also, if you fed him already the meat still drops and you can feed him again.

It might be that Kyle the Frenzied has the same skin, as Ezra Chatterons (Ephoenix's) pet.

There appears to be an error on the database on this quest. I did it because I was trying to raise my reputation with Darkspear Trolls & only got Rep for Thunder Bluff. I know it's not a race issue either because I was a Troll at the time of doing it. Just a heads up for people that are looking for quests to raise certain Factions.

Ezra passed away, may he long be remembered as one of the good guys.

I know his family appreciates this living in-game memorial to him. I am best friends with his Uncle and know his Aunt, and his story touched me.

As I play on an EU server I was unaware of the story behind this quest and of Ezra, finding out just what Blizz did to make this young man's life so much happier, has made me pleased that a corporation the size of Blizzard actually have a heart.

I do this quest on every toon I make, to Remember the great person known as Ephoenix. Tonight as I was leveling my new Pally, I had to run to Thunderbluff and I got the quest and then got the meat, I have always sat at the Mailbox and Kyle would always run by... I sat there for 25 minutes and No Kyle, is anyone else having an issue doing this quest? I'm level 26 but I have done it as high at 70..

Update: Not sure what happened but I logged out of wow and then back in and Kyle did in fact show up. Yay!

This had long been one of my favorite quests, just because I'm kind of sappy and it seemed nice to feed a poor old man's dog. I had no idea Blizzard helped Ezra design it. Thanks for the information, it tugs at my heartstrings even more now!

This is one of my favorite quests in the game.

The striders needed are just over the bridge, near the mountain to the left. The drop rate isn't bad. You can catch Kyle while standing near the mailbox. He runs by quickly so be fast.

I really think Blizzard should make this a cross faction quest, like the bracelet quest in Redridge.

After I feeded Kyle, he said something about a treasure chest hiden in an island at Overlook Cliffs, and he calls him self by the name of Rin'ji. Is it just me or more people saw this too?

Wow the day i find out about this kid, is the day of the 1 year anniversary of the tragedy. my condolences to the family. i respect blizzard for doing what they did. and hope ezra enjoyed that quest and meeting the acutal designer for the game. R.I.P little man.

Rest in peace Ezra Phoenix Chatterton, anyone knows about your story will always remember you (I will always do). They will remember how a smart kid, a brave young man and an optimistic philosopher you were and always will be.

Here I will make a quotation from High Overlod Saurfang: "Like Brox, my son died a hero. Do not mourn him, <name>. For an orc, there could be no better end! No greater honor! At this moment, my heart swells with pride."

And although he was not an orc but a tauren hunter, he died fighting, and he died a hero, like Saurfang the younger. Indeed there could be no greater honor. And I believe our hearts would all swell with pride when we know of how great he battled his cancer to the very end.

This is one of those quests that you will always remember, years down the road.

The voice as you walk by the npc is quite startling at first, but it's extremely loveable at the same time, and knowing the story of Ezra makes the whole thing, albeit sadder, it also makes you happy to see that Blizzard would do something like this, in honor of him.

RIP Ezra.

This is the easiest way you could do it. First of - have your bag open and mouse ready to right click it.

--Stand like 5 meters away from the "town" on the pathway facing the turning water thing (whatever that is)

Well, apparently after the 2nd half of 4.0.3. patch, the meat isn't dropping :( I've must have killed 50 of 'em and still nothing.

This quest is broken as of Cata. The 'stridor meat' is what is now labeled as the quest item when you loot it, but you cant place it on the ground. The tender stridor meat doesnt drop. Lol, poor kid, the cataclysm destroyed his saga. oh well...

Edit: if you're having trouble getting a drop just abandon and go get the quest again.

Different situation here: Accepted the quest, got strider meat right away, then went AFK to eat some delicious tikka masala. When I returned to the keyboard, and ultimately to Bloodhoof, Kyle was not there. I waited and waited and waited. Stood up, I was.

Dropped the quest, reacquired it, got some new bird meat, and immediately went back to Bloodhoof. Kyle! Yay!

Perhaps he spawns when the quest is accepted? Or maybe this was just an anomaly...

I knew the voice was different. Now I know exactly why. Just tamed a Prarie Wolf and named Pheonix in honor because it's in the same region of this guy and yeah.

i got to feed kyle today, such a touching rl story. very bitter sweet, hope theres a warcraft: heaven addition for the little guy.

the meat dropped straight away and was able to run up to the pooch and present him with his tea. think we was happy as he does a little dance ^^

The heirloom mount (Chauffeured Mechano-Hog) added in 6.1 has made this quest much easier, as the mount is available to characters at level 1 and is faster than Kyle. Use this mount to circle Bloodhoof Village and find him faster, then just drop the meat and you're done.

I nearly dumped this quest but then looked it up and saw the origins. After that I had to complete it in memory of Ephoenix. I nearly lost my son to cancer when he was 4 but we were one of the lucky ones and he is now grown, playing WOW.

Ahab Wheathoof at Bloodhoof Village in Mulgore wants you to feed his prized puppy, Kyle the Frenzied.

Feed Kyle Tender Strider Meat and return to Ahab Wheathoof.

Description

Help, <name>! My prized puppy, Kyle, has run away! I just know he's running around Bloodhoof Village, lost and hungry.

Will you find him and feed him? Once he eats he will settle down and come home.

To feed him you will need to find food. His favorite meal is tender strider meat. Just venture east and you should find plenty of striders. Hunt one down and take its succulent meat to Kyle. When you see Kyle in town, put the meat down and he is sure to come to you.
