Reaper of Souls Release Date Announced
The Battle.Net Shop was updated for the digital pre-purchase of Reaper of Souls--the release date is March 25th, 2014. Edit: since publishing this, Blizzard has added an official blog on the release date and deluxe perks, which we've included at the end of this article.

Reaper of Souls will cost $39.99 and the deluxe edition is $59.99. If you purchase the deluxe edition, you get a special Treasure Goblin battle pet! Click on the image to check out his animations in our modelviewer--when he dies, he appears to spit out a lot of gold, just like in Diablo.

A small PTR build was datamined today--it was revealed that the Diablo III: Reaper of Souls Collector's Edition will have a Treasure Goblin battle pet and achievement (Collector's Edition: Treasure Goblin and Treasure Goblin's Pack),

When your Treasure Goblin is defeated in combat his death animation reflects his Diablo counterpart! After dying in battle he drops a handful of coins, sword and a dagger (of varying quality from common to legendary!) which despawn after a few seconds.

The Treasure Goblin was added as part of the Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls Digital or Collector's Edition. I had a chance to collect mine from the in-game mail (27/02/2014).

I wasn't sure what to expect from his abilities or animations but when you summon him, you can hear gold jingling. He will also throw handfuls of gold every now and then (which can't be picked up) and got a real kick out of his death animation. It's just what you'd expect if you've killed one in D3 (as seen towards the end of the video).

As usual, you can see all his abilities (Coin Toss, Wild Magic, Dodge, Magic Sword, Sear Magic and Portal) over my usual circuit of tamers in Pandaria. I forgot to change one of my teams during the Flowing battle but it still worked out - the result of not levelling any pets for several weeks, I guess.

Having both Wild Magic and Dodge seems pretty OP (especially during that one fight) but if you don't mind his constant cackle, he's a pretty fun pet to have around.

I confirm as of 28th of March that you can buy the RoS Digital Deluxe extension from the US store and gift it to your email, to redeem for your EU account. You will pay 59.99 USD instead of EUR. All extra digital goodies will be working fine on your EU account. No need to create a separate US account to buy in the store.

The little coins the Treasure Goblin tosses out have a Murky symbol with a tophat on. The same pet that Stands next to the orc by the Auction house In the Valley of honor.

No joke probably one of the best flying killer pets in the entire game. Portal is insane for dodging 2-turn attacks that do huge damage. If you have a team with incredibly high speed that always go first you can literally annihilate most teams with this pet. I find that so many of the pet masters and other players in the game use flying pets due to how OP speed is and having turn 1 tempo is pretty much a massive boon towards winning.

Now is it worth the €20 Euros if you already own D3 RoS? Hmm... that's the question. I wish it came as level 25 though but at least it doesn't take long to train. The animations and Diablo-esque feel are a bonus.
