So they do not get destroyed. I wonder how are they explaining the fact that they won't be useful anymore if they still exist.
In my headcanon, the roster of heroes doesn't exactly look that way.
Personally feel like there is still more story to be told about this. While we're apparently containing the power of Gorribal through the artifact weapons, it still doesn't feel like a conclusion yet with just this so far.
Man, how amazing would it be for the cutscene to use your alts, if you have any with artifacts..
in some of the earlier data mined text the AP we have been using up to power the weapons is depleted when we do the cut scene. so they have no power left in them
To be honest, how I would have handled it would be to say absorbing the power out of Sargeras' sword would instantly max out our traits (to put everyone on the same footing) and, lorewise, force the power we had unlocked throughout the expansion out of the weapons and into our actual characters, allowing us to carry our artifact traits and modifications forward into BfA without needing the weapons. But apparently Blizzard want to pick and choose what we carry forward, so that wouldn't work.
I'm telling you how it ends, after we absorb that energy, our artifacts are going to be stronger day by day, but when BfA pre-patch comes, they won't be able to contain the chaotic energy anymore and they'll explode. :)
The King of Diamonds has been made a pawn.
Let the Ashbringer become a HD Corrupted Ashbringer :D
A better ending for it than I thought they were going to have, but since day 1 I've had the question of how they're going to explain us losing the weapons in a future xpac. You can't just say "Here are some of the most powerful weapons ever created" and then turn around and say "But here are some weapons that are more powerful, you can just toss those others in the trash". As much as it would pain me, a better ending would be the weapons turning to dust at the end of this cutscene.
Hope to see my precious Knaifu in BfA. It's sure good idea to feed Sargeras power to her, Manari skull and Ulthalesh and some other weapons. *shrug*
im just going to skip that quest.
what i want so see is that all the artifact weapons are sealed away to only few people know the location (maybe Magni in Ulduar) Because i don't want some of these weapons to disappear forever that would go against what blizzard said about "Ending" a story, like Illidan and Sargeras are still alive. unless they want to red-con it AGAIN...and some of these weapons are too well known to be thrown away (ex: Ashbringer) and some with rich lore (ex: Scythe of Elune) so i am hopping for that Magni seals them away somewhere, maybe used again another time not only for my sake for some of my favorite weapons but also for Blizzards sake for story telling
Confirmed by the guy who datamined the cinematic :"After cinematic, artifact will become unstable, there are special UI things about it that include sound and instability animations."This gives us a general idea, but it's impossible to know more about it for now.
I hope that we get a proper farewell to each artifact before boa launches, since our weapons aren't destroyed, just lost all the ap we acquired.
Finally we'll get rid of this &*!@.
I really enjoyed seeing some of the other 'heroes' being other well known characters of the classes like Kor'vas etc.
