Be Prepared: Things You Should Do Before 6.2

Ahead of the Curve/Cutting Edge

The 6.2 Patch Notes state:

The achievements, Ahead of the Curve: Imperator's Fall, Cutting Edge: Imperator's Fall, Ahead of the Curve: Blackhand's Crucible, and Cutting Edge: Blackhand's Crucible are no longer obtainable.

This means if you want to get those achievements, you'll need to kill their respective bosses (Heroic/Mythic) Imperator Mar'gok and (Heroic/Mythic) Blackhand before the patch comes out. Check out our guides to Imperator Mar'gok and Blackhand to help you get this done before 6.2!

Nemesis Quests

Currently, a popular way to complete your Nemesis quests (acquired from the Gladiator's Sanctum) is to join a full raid in Ashran of people doing the quest. After 6.2, you will not be able to join Ashran in a raid group, only in a party. While this will help with Ashran as a whole, it means you will have fewer people helping you with your quests to get kills. Getting some of your Nemesis quests out of the way before the patch will make them a bit easier!

Motes of Harmony and Archaeology

The 6.2 Patch Notes state:

Spirit of Harmony Vendors no longer offer Restored Artifacts for sale.

If you were holding onto your Spirit of Harmony in order to buy Restored Artifact to trade in for Explorer's Notebook, spend them before 6.2!

Stock up on Apexis Crystals

The Order of the Awakened vendors in the 6.2 Patch use Apexis Crystal as a currency. Stocking up to your cap (60,000) before the patch is a good way to get a head start on those vendor items.

This cap is being removed in 6.2 as well.

Some notable items you can purchase at various reputation levels are: Solar Priest Vayx for 0 Apexis Crystal, the pattern for the epic-level Multistrike Gem (Cracked Gemcutter Module) for 0 Apexis Crystal and , Rukhmar's Sacred Memory for 0 Apexis Crystal, Blazing Firehawk for 0 Apexis Crystal, and Reins of the Corrupted Dreadwing for 0 Apexis Crystal.

In addition, you will be able to purchase gear and items to upgrade that gear with Apexis Crystal. Ilvl 650 Baleful armor costs 0 Apexis Crystal each, and ilvl 650 Baleful weapons cost 0 Apexis Crystal each. You can see all the Baleful items here.

The item to upgrade the Baleful items to 695 ilvl is the Empowered Apexis Fragment and costs 0 Apexis Crystal each.

Get your ilvl to 650

If you want to be able to hop right into Hellfire Citadel LFR, make sure your ilvl (or your alt's ilvl) is at or above 650.

Preparing for Pet Battles

Load up on Pet Treats, such as Lesser Pet Treat and Pet Treat, in order to be able to level the new pets coming in 6.2! Check out our 6.2 Battle Pet Preview!

Collect as many Pet Charms as you can before 6.2 - you'll need 1050 Pet Charms in order to purchase all the pets and toys from the new Pet Vendors in your Garrison. You can collect these by doing your Menagerie dailies as well as defeating the Daily Draenor Pet Tamers, listed here.

Maximizing 6.2 Reputation Gains

If you are keen on quickly maxing out your reputations in 6.2, which is adding 3 new reputations per faction, you should prepare for this by building a Trading Post.

You'll need a Level 3 Trading Post in order to get the +% Reputation Bonus to Draenor factions. The blueprint for this is unlocked by obtaining the Savage Friends achievement.

End of PvP Season

The patch means the end of the PvP season and a corresponding break before the next season starts.

Get your ratings up to secure your rankings before the end of the season!

Draenor Pathfinder Progress

The Draenor Pathfinder awards both account-wide flying for level 90+ characters in Draenor and the Soaring Skyterror mount.

Be ready for the mini-patch after 6.2 which unlocks flying by making progress before 6.2 even hits!

Start off by checking out your progress on this achievement with our Flying Tool.

Then, once you know what you have left to complete, you can use our Draenor Pathfinder Guide to Unlocking Flying to get ahead on the pre-6.2 parts of the achievement!

Before 6.2, you can complete the Apexis Quest, Loremaster, and Exploration portions of the achievement, although the 100 Treasure achievement and toast won't be in until 6.2

Are there any other garrison buildings that are more (or less) important for 6.2? I'm going to put in a trading post instead of the inn, and am wondering if there is any more need for a barn if Savage Blood is not needed to craft upgraded gear? Haven't even stepped into Ashran in 3 months and to hell with grinding out those nemesis titles over the next seven days. 500 kills of each race is ridiculous, especially for some of the lesser played races.
