Wow, they're doing everything I wanted them to after returning to the game midway through Cataclysm and having left midway through BC.The 5 man hardmode thing is awesome. The RDF had gutted the challenge of 5 man's out of necessity that he desribes. The talking and crowd control of 5 mans in BC was really a part I enjoyed most... like he said, we don't all have the time to commit to a raid schedule, yet lots of people like the challenge of raids. The "training mode" is something I pounded on the forums for a week or two almost a year ago and I had know idea they must have already been working on it. It would be great all around if people could practice things like the ice wall or something without wasting 9 other peoples time if you have a slower learning curve for timing type things. The attempts at ways to make the world something to continue to be involved with after leveling seem promising, and certainly starts to begin tweaking with. While the cross realm zones hurt server community in some ways, it sure is more fun for me to have people in a zone.( and frustrating when they're killing my mobs..but still more intersting by far to have people in the game) I hope they have more transparency about "sister servers" we work (small battlegroups?) so we know who might be more worth the timei to forge freindships with if we know we'll seee them in the future.I LOVE their vague future plans to work towards making BC dungeons accessible in a challenge mode of some sort that scaled with equipment and was tuned to present abilities.I love the notion of world zones also one day taking that sort of approach. As ghostwalker said.. lets face it... having new players go through 90 levels of grinding to get to friends either means subjecting them to many more months of tedium than they find fun or to make it so easy to level that it is rare to ever be able to do old zones at level if you wanted to. You need to plan pretty carefully to even use alts to experience them and they have very few hard pulls or quests at level in order not to torture people who Need to go through them. At some point they'll start players with somewhat higher levels but with starting zones that get them fully exposed to their class like the Death Knights. We can have tough Arathi Highlands again after that.
