Strand of the Ancients Battleground Removed in Battle for Azeroth

With 40 man BG's in their own queue, apparently blacklisting is gone. This will make Strand of the Ancients the least popular battleground in the regular queue. Whenever you queue with friends, everyone will groan when you get SotA.

That's the bad news. The good is I don't think it's irredeemable. The worst part about SotA, imo, is having to run back to jump into a vehicle which reduces your character to two abilities and two movement directions.

Why not just have these controlled by NPC's?

I guess that's simply another side of the casino: let's bet on what will get pruned/removed and try to get it. Glad I grinded Ashran in WoD, annoyed I'm just half way with SotA because I had the nerve to think I can play at my own pace apart from edge/glad/seasonal stuff. My question is, if we're getting rid of the alliance's most hated BG, can we get rid of IoC as well? Still waiting for my max level Wintergrasp brawl event too Blizzard :)Comment by broken0chaosIt's probably getting ditched due to the amount of blacklisting it has on both factions and the biggest problem with it being something that can't be fixed without a ground-up redo of the entire thing. A two-round system for a battleground just doesn't feel very good in most games, and even a close match-up in SotA feels painfully mediocre at the end.

(And what's with the two-round thing anyway? Do we just walk away from the relic at the end and come back on boats five minutes later? At least the other battlegrounds have some sensible logic to their existence and structure, rather than having even a single round feel overtly gamey.)Comment by ShirubiaWhy? It got to the point where I almost blacklisted it on Alliance because of how infrequently my team was capable of working together. Still sad to see it go though, Blizz gives us Seething Shore but then takes away 3 bgs from the main queue now. Strand of the Ancients was one of the few BGs I won on Horde side almost every time i queued it...
