I cant wait to see everyone faces in 5 years when blizzard going to add 3 more colors :D
I don't care if it takes 6 years, but the colors of such a pointless trivial thing should be account wide. How exactly does that happen that for Blizzcon they announce that they realized that players play the game differently than before, and that alts are the way the game is played today, and they say they understand that and thats why we get warbonds and going forward many things will be shared among your characters.Yet they continue introducing such trivial cosmetic things, like that duck transformation, or (at first) the dragon appearence randomizer, and make them character bound. Why? I'd really like to be some fly in their game design meetings.
oh no! what a nightmare! i'll have to spend 6 years on a toy i'll never use
This is a very weirdly designed toy on every level
Kinda see why but also hope they add more to the event over the years during the time. Otherwise, some layers will just ignore it the next time once they get most items there is besides the ducks.
I'm not mad. I'm just disappointed. ^said by exasperated players who no longer see this as an unusual thing from blizz anymore. SMH.
This toy isn't a big deal but I was going to do the questline on some alts for more duck appearances...I really don't understand the WoW team. They always seem to take 2 steps forward and 1 (or 2 or even 3) steps back with their decisions on the most random things. Also the pessimistic in me is now expecting none of the holidays to get another update for 6 years.
6 Years for a Toy is crazy, ngl.
I am a collector and as long as I keep the toy across all characters , I am fine with never collecting the disguises. However, I think it's stupid choice to be character specific. People have long abandoned main chara culture.
Not surprising, really. People have been farming other holiday items, like the Valentine's rocket, for well over a decade, with thousands of attempts. It's Blizzard's MO. Extremely low drop rates that make you keep coming back, year after year after year... After 20 years, how many more of us are going to keep feeding this game design before we just say "$%^& it, I'm done."
Very good, where do i sub for 6 years straight, might as well get it out of the way, dont want to miss the duck disguiser after all!
I mean.. yeah, sure, you could say that this decision to make it take 6 years is just wild. But considering for what kind of community this is for, is it really surprising? There are several crazy decisions lately that just devour the players' time and expect extremely high dedication and time investment, but just because Blizzard knows that it actually works. There are tons of people that never play anything else besides WoW and have been playing for at least a decade or much more. I'd imagine a lot of collectors will still be playing in six years and it's just another carrot on the stick for them to be around for these events. Just like the new RNG mount, it's all on purpose. The devs aren't tone deaf or ignorant. It's the game design the people deserve and embrace, because let's be real - people complain now but will probably be grinding Noblegarden for the next decade anyways.
Guess I'll go submit my feedback then. I don't get the six year farming for this item. It seems very disproportionate.
I love collecting things. I plan to collect these. If it doesn't change, that's going to take me a long time. :(If they changed it to it takes less than 6 years I'd be happy. But I, for the life of me, can't understand the people flipping out over not being able to collect all the duck disguises for this one toy in a single event.... why do you care about this niche of niche items to this extreme. Why are you so invested in this? , beyond the fact that it contributes to ATTs collection stats? It doesn't show up as part of the toy box count, isn't part of the wardrobe count. There is no achievement to earn them all or any that have them contributing to underlying criteria. No where in the game is it tracking your collection of this item. Just ATT, which is entirely player decided. The level of panic over not being able to collect all the appearances doesn't match the importance of the item at all. Either in the sense of what it means to an average player or how a collector would view it. It's like ... people are just waiting for an excuse to flip the table. They will treat something as insignificant as this as if it's the most important issue plaguing the game atm. , idk this has been a crazy response from players between this, the carpet, and the tmog. It's just been so wild. Some players don't feel sane.
April 1st has passed... someone should tell them
Only 6 years?Jokes still on them...Since they've already planned for WoW to be around for another twenty years!
Dumbest decision ever. RIP rerollers.
Not blizz being condescending in their blue post communication haha It's such a dumb mechanism that it had to be a bug and Blizzard is like "no, we designed it like that, submit your feedback in the other category"
